    The Building of the Third Temple in Israel

    Revelation Chapter 11:1 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, “Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. 2 “But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. This is a truly amazing chapter in the Book of Revelation. Remember that this was written about 90 A.D., more than 1,900 years ago, and yet it speaks clearly of the temple in Jerusalem being measured. At the time John is writing this, their own temple had already been destroyed in 70 A.D. by Titus and his Roman army. John sees a temple that is future for him, the Third temple that will exist on this site, will not be built until the beginning of the 7 year Tribulation period. You see, we have a bit of a problem right now, in that the Islamic Religious site, the “Dome of the Rock”, occupies the Temple mount site in Jerusalem. How is it that John knew 1900 years ago, that a gentile religious building would occupy the temple mount site, other than the temple itself? If you think about it, this is an outrageous thought to any Fundamentalist Jew. That a gentile religious site would share the temple mount site with their temple. And yet 1900 years ago, John sees that there is just such a structure there in the outer court of the temple, amazing!

    A Chronological List of Events For the Last Days

    This is the second in a four-part series on the Last Days. In this study we will look at a Chronology of the events from the present time in history, up to the end of time here on the earth, as described in the Bible

    Two of the most asked questions from those who are interested in Bible Prophecy, are

    “What is going to happen next in the world?”

    “What does the Bible have to say about the events of the Last Days?”

    Jesus said that the entire scope of all Prophecy in the last days, is centered around the nation of Israel. For almost 2,000 years the Jews were scattered all over the face of the earth. Being without a land of their own, they had lost their national identity and their homeland.

    While Israel was without their own country, the Prophet Ezekiel wrote of a time in the last days when God would draw the Jews from all over the face of the earth, and place them back to their own land again.

    Ezekiel 37:21-22 “Then say to them, “Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land…

    The promise of restoration by the Lord, is that once the Jews are back in their own land again, they will be protected by the Lord and dwell there permanently. Once they are in their land, in the last days, the Lord will allow Israel to rebuilt their Temple again and re-institute the temple sacrifice.

    Ezekiel 37:26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore.

    Israel is often referred to as being like a “fig tree” in the old testament:

    Hosea 9:10 “I found Israel Like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers As the firstfruits on the fig tree in its first season.

    Jesus said that when we see the fig tree once again blossom and put forth leaves, that we know that summer is near. This is a poetic play on words that was understood by the Jews to mean that when Israel became a nation again,back in their own land, that the Lord’s return was near.

    Rebuilding Solomon’s Temple in Brazil

    This week, as Jews around the world observed the fasting day of Tisha B’av, commemorating the destruction of the First and Second Jewish Temples in ancient Jerusalem, a Brazilian megachurch received planning permission to build a 10,000-seat replica of Solomon’s Temple in the city of São Paulo. As Tom Phillips of The Guardian noted, a Brazilian newspaper, Estado de São Paulo, reported that the church will cost an estimated $200 million and should be completed in four years. According to a post on the blog of Bishop Edir Macedo, the founder of Brazil’s evangelical Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, which is building the replica, the structure will be 180 feet high, making it nearly twice as tall as the Christ the Redeemer statue that towers over Rio de Janeiro. Mr. Macedo also said that stones of the same type used by Solomon had been ordered from Jerusalem to be used in a complex which will also house 36 Bible schools, television and radio studios and a 1,000-space parking lot.

    Israel Wants Their Temple Back

    Israelis on Monday evening marked the beginning of Tisha B’Av, the national day of mourning over the loss of Israel’s ancient temples. The First Temple was destroyed 2,500 years ago by the Babylonians, and the Second Temple was demolished 2,000 years ago by the Romans. To mark the day, the Knesset TV Channel conducted a survey asking Israelis if they desire the building of a Third Temple. A 49 percent plurality said they do. Only 23 percent said they do not want a Third Temple. However, 48 percent said they don’t think the State of Israel should take active steps to reclaim control of the Temple Mount and build a Third Temple there. Israelis across the board fear the hostile and violent international and Muslim reaction that such a move would certainly evoke. The Muslim authorities that today control the Temple Mount play off those fears, and Jews are rarely allowed to visit the site. Jews and Christians alike are forbidden to utter prayers or carry Bibles atop the Temple Mount.

    In the eleventh chapter of the Book of Revelation, John is told to take a measuring device and to measure the temple in Jerusalem. He is told to leave the outer court for it has been given to the Gentiles. Today, through the hard work of Dr. Asher Kaufman we know that there is an area just north of the current ‘Dome of the Rock” on the temple mount in Jerusalem, where there is an open area where a new third temple could be rebuilt. If the Temple is constructed on this present site, the Holy of Holies would align perfectly with the Eastern gate. In the previous two temple erected on the temple mount, both were aligned also with the Eastern gate.

    Dr. Gabi Barkai, senior lecturer at Bar Ilan University and recipient of the Jerusalem Prize for Archaeology, says Israelis must demand that Israeli antiquities law be enforced at Israel’s most important archaeological site— the Temple Mount.
    “It is the most important site in the world for the Jewish people,” Barkai told Benny Tucker of Arutz Sheva’s Hebrew newsmagazine in a Jerusalem Day interview, “as well as the most important archaeological site in Israel, and despite all this, Israel has abandoned it. Over the past ten years, the Waqf has taken control, making major changes in the status quo: It has conducted illegal digs, built mosques and the like, and the situation has changed from one extreme to the other.”

    Golden Menorah Now Ready for the Third Temple

    The Temple Institute in the Old City of Jerusalem has now completed the construction of a golden Menorah, similar to the one used in ancient times in the Holy Temple. The head of the Temple Institute, Rabbi Yisrael Ariel talked with Yosef Zalmanson, a reporter with Israeli media’s Arutz-7 and explained that the Menorah was not constructed for profane or for personal use, but rather “for the sake of the commandment.” Officially, the Menorah was not ritually consecrated for Temple use to avoid the prohibition in Jewish religious law (Halakhic) forbidding anyone from deriving a benefit from objects that will become property of God’s Temple.

    Group Wants to Replace Temple Mount Mosques with Jewish Temple

    A right-wing group announced a campaign Sunday ahead of the Passover festival calling for the construction of the Jewish Temple on the location of the existing temple mount mosques.
    The extreme right-wing Our Land of Israel party (Eretz Israel Shelanu) said it intended to mount an extensive bus campaign, with the slogan “May the Temple be built in our lifetime,” along with an artist’s rendition of the completed temple.
    One of the party’s leaders, Baruch Marzel, said that it was “a legitimate campaign meant to convey a message to the Arabs.
    “The mosque on the temple mount is temporary,” Marzel continued, referring to the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa mosques, “and it’s only a matter of time before the Temple which the entire people of Israel are waiting for will be built.”

    Temple Institute Wants to Offer Biblical Passover Sacrifice

    (IsraelNN.com) The Temple Mount Institute has filed suit in its fight for the right to sacrifice a sheep on the Temple Mount prior to Passover, as commanded in the Torah.
    “The command to perform a Paschal [Passover] sacrifice is a positive commandment; the punishment for failing to perform it is ‘karet’ [lit. -- 'cut off', meaning that a person is cut off from the Nation of Israel], and it can be performed only on the day before Passover and only on the Temple Mount,” the organization explained in a petition to the Supreme Court. Fighting the group’s request are the Israel Police, who argue that the sacrifice would lead to Muslim riots and thus threaten public safety.

    United Nations Worried Over Temple Mount Riots

    The head of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) on Saturday slammed Israel’s actions on the Temple Mount Friday.

    OIC Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu decried what he called Israel’s “abuse” of worshippers at the Al-Aqsa mosque. He said Israel’s actions were in violation of international law and could lead to a religious war. Ihsanoglu called on the international community to stop the “Israeli attacks” on religious sites.
    Approximately 20 policemen and dozens of Palestinians were wounded in the riots, the latest in a flare of violent incidents over Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s announcement incorporating the Cave of the Patriarch’s in Hebron and Rachel’s Tomb in Bethlehem onto Israel’s list of national heritage sites.
    The United Nations Security Council also expressed concern over the riots.
    Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said in a statement released Friday evening that Israel had crossed every red line and made prospects for peace even dimmer in clashing with Muslim worshipers.

    Where’s the compromise over the Temple Mount?

    One of the most widely respected Zionist rabbis in the country, Chief Rabbi of Haifa She’ar Yashuv Cohen, has long championed a change in the status quo on the Temple Mount. Cohen, who has chief responsibility for the Chief Rabbinate’s dialogue with the Vatican and has had tremendous success in working together with the large non-Jewish communities in Haifa, has for many years been trying to gain support among both his rabbinic colleagues and the political echelon for establishing a synagogue on the Temple Mount.

    Indeed, “mainstream Israelis,” on whose behalf the Post purports to be speaking, would find a much higher comfort level and far more common ground with the rabbis who support Jews entering and praying on the Temple Mount than with those rabbis who favor a ban on Jewish entry.

    2,000 Year Old Tunnel Found Under Temple Mount

    Israeli archaeologists stumbled upon an important historical find outside the walls of Jerusalem’s Old City, on the steep road leading down to the Pool of Siloam where Jesus healed the blind man (John 9:1-11). They had been digging in the area for three months, searching for what was the main road in Jerusalem during biblical times.

    The sudden collapse of a stone wall revealed a hole, and when archeologists Eli Shukron and Ronny Reich climbed in the spectacle before them took their breath away. They found themselves in a well-preserved tunnel made of hewn stones, about seven meters (yards) below today’s streets. It is about 70 meters long, 2 to 2.5 meters high and 1 meter wide.

    “The discovery of the tunnel was a total surprise,” Shukron told Israel Today during a tour of the site. “As we were entering, we also discovered the street we were searching for, above us. The street was used by Jewish pilgrims to ascend to the Temple on the three great pilgrimage festivals of Passover, Shavuot [the Feast of Weeks] and Sukkot [the Feast of Tabernacles].”

    Violent Clash Erupts at Jerusalem’s Temple Mount

    JERUSALEM — Israeli police firing stun grenades faced off Sunday against masked Palestinian protesters hurling stones and plastic chairs outside the Holy Land’s most volatile shrine, where past violence has escalated into prolonged conflict.
    A wall of Israeli riot police behind plexiglass shields marched toward young men covering their faces with T-shirts and scarves, sending many of them running for cover into the Al-Aqsa mosque, one of the Islamic structures in the compound known to Jews as the Temple Mount and to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary.
    They remained holed up in the mosque with police outside for several hours until dispersing before nightfall. Eighteen protesters were arrested, and no serious injuries were reported. But even mild troubles at the disputed compound in Jerusalem’s Old City can quickly ignite widespread unrest, and police remained on high alert.

    How is it that John knew 1900 years ago, that a gentile religious building would occupy the temple mount site, other than the temple itself? If you think about it, this is an outrageous thought to any Fundamentalist Jew. That a gentile religious site would share the temple mount site with their temple. And yet, 1900 years ago, John sees that there is just such a structure there, in the outer court of the temple, AMAZING!

    John is told to take a “Reed” a device used during that time for measuring things.He is to go and measure the temple. He is told to not measure the “outer court” because it “Has been given to the Gentiles.”

    Muslim Leaders want the Jewish Temple Rebuilt

    Muslim Leaders want the Jewish Temple Rebuilt

    For more than 50 years those who study Bible Prophecy have wondered how it would be possible that the Temple could ever be built upon the current Temple mount in Jerusalem, in light of the fact the Muslim Mosque of Omar, or Dome of the Rock currently occupies this site.

    It was inconceivable that the Muslim world would ever endorse the building of a New Jewish Temple on the site that their Muslim Mosque occupied. At least until April of 2009.
