    The Pre-Wrath Rapture

    The Pre-Wrath Rapture

One of the discussions of greatest frequency regarding Bible Prophecy, is that of “When will the Rapture of the Church occur”. Will it be before the 7 year Tribulation Period, in the middle of this time of wrath, or at the end just prior to Jesus physical return to the earth?

Let me say at the onset of this post that the doctrine of the Rapture of the Church, I consider that it is one of the most important foundational doctrines in the Bible. It is important in understanding correctly, the Grace of God, and His lack of will to punish with His wrath, His people along with the rest of the world.

Jesus death on the Cross not only accomplished salvation for all those who believe it, but also a removal of ALL future wrath from God. Make no mistake, the last three and one half years of the seven year tribulation period will be a total and complete outpouring of the Wrath of God upon the world in a way that this earth has not, not ever shall again ecperience. Jesus wrote that this wrath will be so severe that “If those days were not shortened (to three and one half years) No one would survive.

As we examine the text of the Old Testament, we will not find a single instance where the Lord ever poured out His wrath when His people were present.

Beginning with the Flood of Noah, the Lord removed the Gentile Enoch, who had been walking in fellowship with God for 300 years, just prior to the wrath of the great flood. Enoch as a Gentile, being a picture of the Gentile Bride of Jesus, that we believe will be removed from the earth before He begins the time of His wrath during the Great Tribulation.

The Rapture and the Hebrew Wedding

As I take you through the Ceremony for a Hebrew Marriage, you will want to pay special attention to the details. You will see that Jesus must have intended that His coming for us, would be exactly like the model of the Hebrew Marriage. He did this, so that we would understand how, why and when He is coming for us.

    Rosh Hashanah, and the Rapture

    Rosh Hashanah, and the Rapture

There are some skeptics of The Doctrine of the Rapture that say that this is not taught in the Bible. They do so while ignoring 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 and other key bible verses that clearly describe the removal of believers in Jesus Christ from the earth.

Paul is writing this letter to the church in Thessalonica, to believers in Jesus Christ, because a false doctrine had been circulating that said that Jesus had already returned the second time to the earth. The believers there were concerned that if Jesus had already returned, then what happened to their loved ones who had already died, where were they? Paul writes to tell them that Jesus has not returned yet, and when He does return, here is what will happen.

  • The Signs of Jesus Return

    The Signs of Jesus Return

The purpose of Bible prophecy is so that we might know that the Bible is not just another book penned by men, but a supernatural document with it’s source from outside time and space. The Bible is unique in that it makes predictions of the future with such detail and precision, that the slightest error would make any one of those prophecies unreliable. In over 2,500 Biblical prophecies, every single minute detail has been completed with precision and accuracy. The odds of any book being able to predict over 2,5o0 events in advance with 100 percent accuracy, is beyond the possibility of chance. The certainty of the fulfillment of these events already predicted and already fulfilled, gives confidence to the remaining 1,000 prophetic predictions that are yet to be fulfilled. If the Bible has been perfectly accurate so far, it is certain that the events spoken of describing the last days before Jesus returns, most certainly will also be fulfilled accurately. The following is a short list of some of those prophetic events already fulfilled, to be fulfilled and in the process of being fulfilled.

This article and the importance of the details of this article, are the reason that I started Bible Prophecy Update. So that you might realize that the Lord of the Universe has a plan that He has been unfolding for thousands of years, and that plan includes His desire to make Himself known to you. As you read, study and become familiar with the events of Bible prophecy, you will realize that the Lord is who He claims to be. That there is a God who is above all creation and who loves every human being equally and with great fervor. When we failed to be what He had created us to be and the defect of sin spread to all human kind, He took it upon Himself to become one of us, and give His life in exchange for all of ours. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on a Roman cross 2,000 years ago, paid the price all of us owed for our own individual and collective sins, forever. If you will place your complete trust in what Jesus has done for you at the Cross, and accept Jesus as your own Savior, you will be cleansed of your total sin and obtain eternal life.

When Jesus returns next, it will not be physically to the earth, but to the atmosphere above earth, from where He will call out of the earth all those who have already come into a personal relationship with Him and have accepted His sacrifice for their sins. (1 Thessalonians 4:17)

  • The Rapture of the Church and 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2

The Rapture of the Church and 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2

From the moment that I first learned the doctrine of the Rapture of the Church in 1975, there has been a deep controversy by those who claim that the Rapture will not occur until after the Tribulation has concluded.

One of the verses of Scripture that is used to prove this position is 2 Thessalonians chapter 2.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 “Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed…”

It should be clear from the context of 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 that Paul is addressing a concern that the Thessalonian church had regarding the coming of Jesus for the second time. There were some in this small church that felt that perhaps the Rapture had already taken place. This being the case, they questioned what had happened to their departed loved ones. Where were they and when would they be resurrected?

  • Will Billy Graham’s Passing Bring the Rapture?

Will Billy Graham’s Passing Bring the Rapture?

Billy Graham turned 93 On Monday November 7, 2011. For decades he has led more people to a saving faith in Jesus Christ, than any other man in history. According to estimates, more than 3.2 million people have received Jesus Christ by the invitation of Mr. Graham, since his first call to the altar in 1949. According to records, more than 2.2 billion people have heard about Jesus Christ since that first invitation went out 64 years ago.

I was contemplating the incredible life of Mr. Graham over the weekend and how incredible his ministry has been guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit to accomplish so much for Jesus. At 93, Mr. Graham has stated in his new book introduced this past October, that growing old has had many challenges that he did not expect. It would be impossible for any man to achieve the age of 93, unless the Lord had a very specific purpose for that extended age.

  • Evidence of the Rapture from the First Century

Evidence of the Rapture from the First Century

A recent archaeological discovery dated from the first century, confirms that those in the early church believed in the resurrection of Jesus Christ as well as their own future resurrection from the dead, if they would trust Christ.

Officially labeled as NCE 156 and written in the Greek language on stone, the text of the inscription reveals the Biblical belief in a “Bridal Chamber” awaiting those who die in Christ. The promise given by Jesus at our death, or that we should be alive when He comes for His church, is that we will be His Bride.

John 3:29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled.

1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

The idea of a Bridal chamber came from an old testament verse that describes a time of indignation or wrath occurring on the earth, while those who trust in the Savior as His Bride, will be hidden in that chamber until the indignation has passed.

Isaiah 26:19-21 Your dead shall live; Together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust; For your dew is like the dew of herbs, And the earth shall cast out the dead. Come, my people, enter your chambers, And shut your doors behind you; Hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, Until the indignation is past. For behold, the LORD comes out of His place To punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; The earth will also disclose her blood, And will no more cover her slain.

Daily Walk: Who Will Be Taken at the Rapture?

Daily Walk: Who Will Be Taken at the Rapture?

Hebrews 11:5-6 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Many times the question has been asked regarding who Jesus will take with Him when He comes for His Church at the Rapture.

Some have claimed that only those who have purified themselves of the sins of the world will be ready and therefore taken by Jesus. Others claim that the church must endure the seven year tribulation period so that she can be cleansed and ready for Jesus. Still others say that when Jesus comes, all those who have called on His name will be taken by Him back to heaven.

For the simple answer to this question, all one has to do is go back to the first example of a person taken in a rapture in the old testament book of Genesis:

Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

May 21st, The Rapture, The Problem With Setting Dates

Matthew 24:36-39 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

With a setting of the date for the Rapture and the beginning of the seven year tribulation as May 21st, 2011, the ministry of Harold Camping joins the long list of many others who have tried to predict events Jesus said “No man could know”.

I am not sure which part of “That day and hour no one knows…: was misunderstood, but by the writing of this article, it is clear that no man knows the day or hour of the event called “The Rapture”.

Jesus does not want us to know that day. He has always intended that it would be a date that would surprise the secular world, and be a date to watch for by the Christian church. By not knowing the day or the hour when the Rapture would take place, Jesus intends that all of us who love Him and believe He will return for us, would be kept in a constant state of expectation.

Daily Walk: You Have Need of Endurance

Daily Walk: You Have Need of Endurance

Hebrews 10:36-37 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: “For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry.

Every day that you awake and turn on the T.V. or read the news on your iPad, there seems to be a new crisis somewhere in the world.

The earth’s tectonic plates are shifting causing massive earthquakes and tsunami’s. Governments around the world are in turmoil. Terror and evil are on the rise. Where will it all end?

  • The Pre-Tribulation, A Time of Distress

The Pre-Tribulation, A Time of Distress

It has become apparent by now that the world has entered a new period of time that is unparalleled in all of human history.

Marked acceleration of natural disasters that include Earthquakes, Tsunami’s, Nuclear Meltdown, Rioting, Violence and dramatic increases in sin and lawlessness. These events are not mere happenstance, they are voices speaking of a greater Tribulation that is to come.

Jesus said that in this world we would experience Tribulation. Then He added that we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world:

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

It may be that by these words, Jesus was giving us an advanced warning of a pre-tribulation period that wold occur before the seven year tribulation described in the Book of Revelation.

Just as a woman who is about to give birth, will experience the birth pains associated with the immanent arrival of her child, we are experiencing the birth pains of a coming tribulation that will lead to the return of Jesus for His church.

  • The Days of Noah, Remix

    The Days of Noah, Remix

A massive 8.9 earthquake in Japan, thousands dead and missing. Two nuclear facilities leaking radioactive particles into the atmosphere. Exponential increases in the rupture of earth’s tectonic plates causing stunning increased in earthquakes and tsunamis around the planet.
Unprecedented flooding and global weather changes around the world.

Rioting, uprising and violence in the middle east.

The United States economy collapsing, and on the verge of bankruptcy.

Global financial markets destabilizing, a move towards one world government with one currency and one religion.

Violence, greed, murder, abortion, sexual perversion, the mocking of God and His Word, and a removal of The Lord from the center of man’s life.

These are the symptoms of a world which is in travail. Signs for us that man has moved away from God and into a very dangerous place. The last time that this all happened, the Lord visited our planet with judgment and destroyed man on the face of the earth.

Genesis 6:7 So the LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air

  • The Great Tribulation and Limited Time

The Great Tribulation and Limited Time

If a person hears about the need to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior before the seven year Tribulation begins and yet rejects Him, it appears that this person will not find it possible to receive the Lord when the antichrist arrives.

The arrival of the antichrist will be with great power and amazing supernatural wonders that will deceive most people on the earth. 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 describes the fact that “Because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved”, these who have rejected Jesus, will have no desire to turn to Jesus during the reign of the antichrist.

It is the gentle convincing work of the Holy Spirit in a person’s life, as He witnesses to our spirit of our need for Jesus, that compels a person to repent and turn to Jesus.

It appears that during the seven years of the Tribulation, those who rejected Jesus before the Tribulation begins will not have the benefit of the Holy Spirit speaking to their hearts, as 2 Thessalonians declares:

“Because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

  • Is the Doctrine of the Rapture Taught in the Bible?

Is the Doctrine of the Rapture Taught in the Bible?

Many years ago while teaching a home bible study, one of those who attended handed me a book that promised to dispel the whole doctrine of the Rapture. One of the major claims that the book made was that the doctrine of the Rapture was not being taught to the early Christian church. The claim of this book was that since the early church was not teaching the doctrine of the Rapture, it must not be true.

As the years have passed, through the scholarly work of several men of God, we know today that the Rapture and the Tribulation were being taught in the early church as far back as the first century.

A recent translation of the writings of Ephraem the Syrian from 373 A.D. have shed new insights into what the early church was teaching the members of their congregations concerning the Rapture of the Church.

In 1994 Grant Jeffrey discovered a few ancient manuscripts written by Ephraem the Syrian and insured that they were correctly translated into modern English. The translation of these manuscripts was accomplished by Professor Cameron Rhoades of Tyndale Theological seminary.

Signs of the Last Days: 4 Trillion in World Debt

One of the events that will precede the coming of the world ruler known as the ‘antichrist’ in the Bible, is a need for world-wide leadership in economic affairs. There will be such a catastrophic climate present just before the antichrist comes on the scene, that the world will welcome his plan of rescue to save the world markets.

Banks in Europe and the United States have recently revealed that the world-wide debt is in excess of 4 Trillion Dollars. Today on the national news channels it was revealed that during the past 12 months the national debt has risen by 1.6 trillion dollars. Within just a short time, the economy of the United States of America will be bankrupt and we will have greater debt than we can pay interest on.

As the financial markets in the United States fail, so also will those financial markets in Europe and Asia. Within the next year a global crisis will overtake our world and necessitate a rescue.

Prophecy: ‘Every Eye Will See Him’

Prophecy: ‘Every Eye Will See Him’

Revelation 1:7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. There has been much confusion over the years as to the return of Jesus Christ. Many people do not understand that Jesus will be returning to the earth two more times before the end of the age.

The next major event on the prophetic time clock is the arrival of Jesus to the outer atmosphere of earth as described by Paul in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4:

1Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Commentators on the Bible have labeled this event as “The Rapture” because of the Greek word for “Caught Up” in verse 17, “Harpazo”, which means to be “Taken Away”.

Half of U.S. Christians: ‘Jesus Will Return Within 40 Years’

Half of U.S. Christians: ‘Jesus Will Return Within 40 Years’

A new survey finds that Americans are divided over whether they believe Jesus Christ will return by the year 2050. Among respondents to the survey by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press and Smithsonian Magazine, 41% said they expect Jesus’ Second Coming in the next 40 years, while 46 percent said it probably or definitely won’t happen. The poll suggests that 58 percent of white evangelicals believe Jesus will return by 2050 compared to only 32 percent of Catholics, and respondents with no college education were three times as likely as those with college degrees to expect Christ’s Second Coming in the next 40 years.

A majority of all respondents, meanwhile, say they expect there to be nuclear terrorism against the US or another world war by 2050. Sixty-eight percent of respondents under the age of 30 predict a world war by 2050, 72% believe that there will be an energy crisis worldwide by 2050 and 31% expect an asteroid will strike the planet. According to the poll, 53% expect a terrorist attack against the United States using a nuclear weapon. The poll also shows a sharp dip in overall optimism from 1999, when 81% expected a good life for themselves and their families.
