Being a Christian at NASA Will Cost You Your Job

Since it’s inception, the Theory of Evolution has remained just that “A Theory”. It has never been proven by evidence that links lower primates to human beings, yet it is used in all of our schools and accepted widely by most of the world’s secular intellectuals, as fact.

Now, if you subscribe to any other theory for the origin of the Universe and the fact of man’s existence, you are labeled ignorant, uninformed and naive .

At the United States NASA headquarters, if you are not a believer in the religion of evolution, you cannot belong to their church.

An evangelical Christian, David Coppedge, has been fired from his job of 15 years for believing in God and the theory that the Universe and man were both created by an infinite intelligent being.

The following article is from the Associated Press. For a Christian, this firing is both shocking and frightening. That a man or woman could lose their career now for believing in God and expressing that faith while at work, is a travesty of every law of freedom the US. has been founded upon.

  • The Universe Appears Designed, Because It Was

The Universe Appears Designed, Because It Was

What if the materialistic view of the universe is not true? What if there is an intelligence at work that caused these delicate and finely tuned absolutes to exist, so that life would be possible? It seems logical and reasonable to me as an intelligent man that the rational answer for a universe that appears to have been designed this way, is that it was designed this way.

No one in the scientific community today can prove that every feature of the universe came about strictly by material cause. During the past two hundred years, evidence for Intelligent Design has been growing in the areas of how scientists explain the existence of the universe and the origin of life itself. Advances in the areas of Microbiology have revealed that a simple single celled organism, is not so simple. Upon examination of the microscopic components within a cell, a reasonably thinking person would come to the conclusion that they were viewing the handiwork of a master engineer.

  • The Human Spirit and Digital Information

The Human Spirit and Digital Information

Before a recent trip to Asia, I digitized several of my favorite DVD movies and placed them on my portable external hard drive for viewing at a later date. In the prior state as a DVD these movies took up a large amount of space that made them impossible to carry in my baggage. After the movies were changed into coded digital information and were placed on the external hard drive I could easily transport them in my baggage with no added weight whatsoever.

This is possible because digital information has zero weight. How is it that thousands and thousands of pages of digital code placed on a data storage device can have no mass?

When we speak of either a massive galaxy or a minute particle of dust, we do so in the same terms because they both have mass, charge, length and width. Yet when we speak of information and matter, these terms are no longer relevant because they have no mass or measure of weight.

The weight of the 500 GB hard drive that I placed hundreds of movies on, weighed exactly the same before and after these digitized movies were added.

In the human DNA genome, although it contains thousands and thousands of pages of digital information that directs the cells in their production of protein molecules, they add absolutely no weight to the DNA stand whatsoever. This leaves us with the perplexing question of exactly what is digital information and what is it comparable to?

Evolutionist: Appearance of Intelligent Design an ‘Illusion’

Ever since scientists discovered the appearance of intelligent design in the cell structure of all living things, most biologists have stated that this “appearance of design is simply an illusion”.

Although the structure and functioning of the cell appears to be designed by an intelligence, biologists insist that the cell evolved and was not actually designed.

From the first discovery of DNA by Watson and Crick, scientists have been aware that DNA stores information within itself that contains a four character chemical alphabet. This is the crucial information that a cell requires to transmit, build and assemble the protein molecules that every living cell needs to survive.

This information within the DNA of the cell is a written language that is very similar to the written language of a computer code that directs the function of every computer system. Depending on the arrangement of this chemical alphabet, the DNA molecules relay this information to the cell for building proteins that make life possible.

Atheists and humanists Richard Dawkins has stated that “The machine code of the genes is uncanny computer-like.” The amazing fact is that this computer code of the cell is so sophisticated that it is even more advanced than the human written computer code found in every software program that exists. The founder of Microsoft Bill Gates, has stated that “DNA is like a computer program but far, far more advanced than any software ever created.”

    The Phantom Menace of Creationism

    The Phantom Menace of Creationism

Conspiracy theorist Lauri Lebo, writing at Religion Dispatches, seeks to defend once more hercloudy thesis that by criticizing a move in Louisiana to teach creationism in public schools, Bruce Chapman revealed Discovery Institute’s secret plot to support teaching creationism in public schools. Even as conspiracy theories go, this one lacks plausibility. I wrote here earlier that Ms. Lebo, a journalist with a specialty in these issues, is presumably aware of the “enormous differences” between creationism on one hand and intelligent design (or even mere Darwin doubting) on the other. She assures us she does know the difference but there’s still no evidence of that in her latest column. Instead she thinks she has found a smoking gun, linking Discovery Institute with creationism, in our definition of intelligent design. According to the definition, the theory holds “that certain features of the universe and of living things are best explained by an intelligent cause, not an undirected process such as natural selection.”

Writes Lauri Lebo: No matter how many times they deny it, intelligent design relies on the supernatural. They can hide it in the passive voice all they want, but when you talk about an “intelligent cause” you are talking about a creator. And that makes it (wait for it) creationism.
Actually, nothing in that definition, or in the scientific evidence, indicates the intelligent cause must be supernatural in the sense we normally give to that word. And even if the definition did speak of a “supernatural intelligent cause,” ID would not be relying on the supernatural but arguing for it.

DNA is a Written Code: Proof of an Intelligent Designer

DNA is a Written Code: Proof of an Intelligent Designer

Having quoted Dawkins here, it’s interesting to note that neither he, nor any materialist has ever provided any scientific (i.e. empirical, testable, falsifiable) explanation for the origin of information. For a very interesting and extensive read on this subject, read “The Problem of Information For The Theory of Evolution” by Royal Truman. If you carefully trace every reference and rebuttal to this article on the internet, you’ll discover that not one person has ever supplied a scientific response to the questions raised here, nor provided any examples of materialistic processes that produce coded information.

Who Designed the Features of the Monarch Butterfly?

Who Designed the Features of the Monarch Butterfly?

When one examines the life and migration cycles of the monarch butterfly, it is easy to see design features which point back to a Designer. There is inexorable order in the repeatable progress of developmental stages. An incredible plan unfolds in the transforming pupal stage, through larval disintegration and reintegration to the miracle and beauty of a winged insect. Simplicity in feeding, complexity in navigation, beauty in coloration all speak of incredibly packed information in its genetic message. By whatever means it is drawn or directed to make such Herculean flights to its wintering grounds, there must be some type of implanted foreknowledge in its very being that makes it all possible.

How Should Schools Handle Evolution? Debate It

How Should Schools Handle Evolution? Debate It

    The sky is falling.
Or so you might think if you have been reading reports about the Kansas State Board of Education’s proposed policy on teaching evolution. Though many have portrayed the hearings that led to the Kansas policy as a re-run of the Scopes trial, the reality is much different. Rather than prohibiting teachers from teaching about evolution (as Tennessee law did for John Scopes in 1925), Kansas is poised to adopt a policy that would enable students to learn more about the topic. (Related:Just teach it) Specifically, the Kansas policy would require students to learn not only the full scientific case for contemporary evolutionary theory, called “neo-Darwinism,” but also the current criticisms of the theory as they appear in scientific literature. The Kansas policy would not require, or prohibit, discussing the theory of “intelligent design,” which has been so much in the news since President Bush spoke about it earlier this month.

    Life On Other Planets Unlikely?

    Life On Other Planets Unlikely?

Life on Earth-like planets in other solar systems could be unpredictable to say the least, according to a new study. Many such worlds are likely to have roller-coaster conditions which switch rapidly between habitable and uninhabitable. As their orbits alter shape, surface water could appear and boil away in as little as 1,000 years, research suggests. And some planets could suffer big freeze cycles of global glaciation. The Earth is spared such catastrophic events because it exists in a relatively stable system. The orbits of planets circling the Sun are roughly circular. But if a gas giant such as Jupiter had a highly elliptical orbit, its gravity could pull the Earth in and out of the “habitable zone” around the Sun where conditions are just right to support life.

“Artificial Life” or Intelligently Designed Plagiarism?

“Artificial Life” or Intelligently Designed Plagiarism?

The operative phrase above is, “They copied this code.” Venter and his team showed they can successfully identify the code necessary for a living bacterial cell. They sequenced the code, imported the code into a computer, and then outputted it. But we still don’t even understand how all the parts of a bacterial cell work. As biochemist Russell Doolittle wrote in a Nature paper titled “Microbial genomes multiply”:
in each of the completely sequenced genomes so far there are vast numbers of putative genes for proteins of unknown function. It is precisely this point — the large number of putative genes with no known function — that has been the biggest surprise in genome sequencing…In every genome examined so far, at least a quarter of the genes remain ‘hypothetical,’ in that no function can be ascribed. After such a long history of biochemical and genetic examination, how could there be so much in the way of unknown equipment?
Learning how to import the right code from a bacterial chromosome into a new bacterial chromosome doesn’t mean we fully understand all aspects of the code or the proteins and structures it encodes.

The Odds of Creation by Accident

The Odds of Creation by Accident

Scientists are now widely recognizing problems in original evolutionary theory Darwin’s (1)”Origin of the Species”. One major hurdle is the real understatement and misunderstanding of what it took to create the first living cell - even if it were to later evolve into many diverse organisms on its own from there. In Darwin’s day the complexity of DNA, (2)the design code of life, was not known. Darwin’s work has been used to define that life all happened by accident - no Designer, no God, just chance. But, if we can understand the building blocks needed by Darwin and all life science those facts we were once taught point amazingly in a different direction - one of complexity, order and design.

A Look at What Darwin Got Wrong

A Look at What Darwin Got Wrong

For many years, Jerry Fodor has been an outspoken critic of Darwinian reasoning in cognitive science and the philosophy of mind / language. As a graduate student, I saw him present a colloquium on these topics, in front of a semi-hostile audience, and admired his bravado in refusing to kneel before the Altar of Darwin. Sorry if that language seems over the top, but after the end of the Darwin Year, the steady worshipful attitude towards old Charles has finally got to me.
Now, in the wake of his controversial and much discussed London Review article, Fodor — along with cognitive scientist Massimo Piattelli-Palmarini — has made his arguments fully general inWhat Darwin Got Wrong.

California Science Center is Sued for Canceling a Film Promoting Intelligent Design

L.A.’s California Science Center will start the new year defending itself in court for canceling a documentary film attacking Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution.
A lawsuit alleges that the state-owned center improperly bowed to pressure from the Smithsonian Institution, as well as e-mailed complaints from USC professors and others. It contends that the center violated both the 1st Amendment and a contract to rent the museum’s Imax Theater when it canceled the screening of “Darwin’s Dilemma: The Mystery of the Cambrian Fossil Record.”
The suit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court by the American Freedom Alliance, an L.A.-based group described by senior fellow Avi Davis as a nonprofit, nonpartisan “think tank and activist network promoting Western values and ideals.”

Newborn Babies Cry in the Same Language as the Mother

Only days after birth, babies have a bawl with language. Newborn babies cry in melodic patterns that they have heard in adults’ conversations — even while in the womb, say medical anthropologist Kathleen Wermke of the University of Würzburg in Germany, and her colleagues.

By 2 to 5 days of age, infants’ cries bear the tuneful signature of their parents’ native tongue, a sign that language learning has already commenced, the researchers report in a paper published online November 5 in Current Biology.

    Intelligent Design Challenges Evolutionary Theory

    Intelligent Design Challenges Evolutionary Theory

Dr. Michael J. Behe: ID is an umbrella term for scientists and philosophers who are beginning to question and separate out the claims of an implicit materialist philosophy that have grown up alongside, indeed almost inside, modern science.

We are told by “Science” with a capital “s” that the universe is just matter and energy in motion, but it turns out that actual evidence of science does not necessarily support that philosophical claim.

More specifically in my field of biology, the ID movement is beginning to question the claims of neo-Darwinian evolutionary theory and to propose that a better scientific explanation of the data is some kind of intelligent cause rather than random variation and natural selection.

Religion and Science: Conflict or Harmony?

Religion and Science: Conflict or Harmony?

A thoughtful person turned me onto the writings of C.S. Lewis, which was quite a revelation in terms of the depth of intellectual argument that undergirds a belief in a creator God and the existence of moral law. I began to realize that even in science, where I had spent most of my time, there were pointers to God that I had paid no attention to that were actually pretty interesting.

One obvious one, although maybe it’s not so obvious, is that there is something instead of nothing. There’s no reason there should be anything at all. Wigner’s wonderful phrase “the unreasonable effectiveness of mathematics” also comes to mind — Eugene Wigner, the Nobel laureate in physics, talking about the amazing thing about the whole study of physics is that mathematics makes sense; it can describe the properties of matter and energy in simple, even beautiful, laws. Why should that be? Why should gravity follow an inverse square law? Why should Maxwell’s five equations describe electromagnetism in very simple terms, and they actually turn out to be true? A thoughtful and interesting question. This is certainly one that Einstein also wrote about quite significantly.

    Intelligent Design is not Creationism

    Intelligent Design is not Creationism

In 2004, the distinguished philosopher Antony Flew of the University of Reading made worldwide news when he repudiated a lifelong commitment to atheism and affirmed the reality of some kind of a creator. Flew cited evidence of intelligent design in DNA and the arguments of “American [intelligent] design theorists” as important reasons for this shift.

Since then, British readers have learnt about the theory of intelligent design (ID) mainly from media reports about United States court battles over the legality of teaching students about it. According to most reports, ID is a “faith-based” alternative to evolution based solely on religion.
