    Goliath’s Home Town Found

    Goliath’s Home Town Found

An ongoing archaeological excavation in Tel Tzafit continues to unearth the ruins of what was once the city of Gat — described in the Bible as the hometown of Goliath. Professor Aren Maeir, who is directing the dig, spoke to Arutz Sheva’s Hebrew-language news service to discuss the latest finds. Recent finds from the Tel Tzafit excavation are “fascinating,” Maeir said. The site, inhabited at times by Canaanites and at other times by Philistines, has remnants from many periods of history. “We are focusing on the Canaanite period, the Philistine period, and the Israelite period, and for now we’re primarily in the Philistine period,” he said. One of the most interesting finds was a piece of writing containing, among other things, Philistine names, some of which were similar to the name “Goliath.”

Ancient Man No Different From Modern Man

Ancient Man No Different From Modern Man

In this interesting study from the National Academy of Science, studies show that in comparing the DNA of ancient man with the DNA of modern man, there is very little difference. This would be impossible if the Theory of Evolution were true. As there has never been found any transitional species in the fossil record, there is now conclusive evidence that there is also no evolutionary process in the development of man. The facts of science are that man today is virtually identical with the first man. This means that human beings did not evolve from apes and give strong evidence that man was created fully formed by an intelligent being.

A Scholar’s Ark of the Covenant

A Scholar’s Ark of the Covenant

The subject at hand is this British scholar’s contention that the remains of a 700-year-old bowl-shaped relic which he tracked down in a Zimbabwe museum storeroom in 2007 could be a replica of the Ark of the Covenant that carried the Ten Commandments. According to African legend, white lions of God and a two-headed snake guarded the “drum that thunders” in a cave in southwestern Zimbabwe’s sacred Dumbwe mountains. Parfitt’s theory has sparked fierce reactions from some Zimbabwean scholars, who suspect a plot to superimpose foreign origins on what is purely a product of African culture. Having long disappeared from public view since its discovery in the 1940s, the artifact is now on display at the Harare Museum of Human Sciences. It is about 45 inches by 24 inches in diameter and 27 inches tall with a pattern of shallow engraving on the outside that could have held gold threads. Scorch marks on the base inside were possibly left by primitive gun powder.

’2nd face’ on Shroud Points to Supernatural Origin

Jerome R. Corsi Scientists examining the Shroud of Turin since the restoration that began in 2000 have found a “second face” on its reverse “hidden side,” a discovery they believe adds evidence to the argument it is not a medieval painting or photographic rendering. As part of the restoration undertaken in the summer of 2002, [...]

Noah’s Ark Found on Mount Ararat

Noah’s Ark Found on Mount Ararat

The remains of Noah’s Ark have been discovered 13,000 feet up a Turkish mountain — according to a sensational claim by evangelical explorers.
A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers say wooden remains they have discovered on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey are the remains of Noah’s Ark.
The group claims that carbon dating proves the relics are 4,800 years old, meaning they date to around the same time the ark was said to be afloat. Mt. Ararat has long been suspected as the final resting place of the craft by evangelicals and literalists hoping to validate biblical stories.
Yeung Wing-Cheung, from the Noah’s Ark Ministries International research team that made the discovery, said: “It’s not 100 percent that it is Noah’s Ark, but we think it is 99.9 percent that this is it.”
There have been several reported discoveries of the remains of Noah’s Ark over the years, most notably a find by archaeologist Ron Wyatt in 1987. At the time, the Turkish government officially declared a national park around his find, a boat-shaped object stretched across the mountains of Ararat.

Evidence of Jesus Found in the Dead Sea Scrolls

Evidence of Jesus Found in the Dead Sea Scrolls

If someone had asked a minister in 1947 to prove that the original Hebrew Scriptures from the Old Testament were reliably copied without error throughout the last two thousand years, he might have had some difficulty in providing an answer. The oldest Old Testament manuscript used by the King James translators was dated approximately A.D. 1100. Obviously, that old manuscript from A.D. 1100 was a copy of a copy of a copy, etc. for over two thousand years. How could we be sure that the text in the A.D. 1100 copy of the Scriptures was identical with the original text as given to the writers by God and inspired by Him? However, an extraordinary discovery occurred in the turbulent year before Israel became a nation. A Bedouin Arab found a cave in Qumran near the Dead Sea which ultimately yielded over a thousand priceless manuscripts dating back before A.D. 68, when the Roman legions destroyed the Qumran village during the Jewish war against Rome.

Ancient Primate Fossil Roils Scientific Community

Ancient Primate Fossil Roils Scientific Community

(March 5) -Touted as “the missing link” between humans and early primates, a 47-million-year-old fossil appears to be an ancestor to lemurs instead, a newly released study says. The debate, however, seems far from over, and it illuminates the often tricky relationship between science and the media.
Last spring, when Norwegian paleontologist Jorn Hurum and his colleagues announced the unveiling of “Ida,” an unusually complete prehistoric primate fossil, it was portrayed in newspaper and television reports as a blockbuster discovery nothing short of an “eighth wonder of the world” that would offer a look at one of mankind’s earliest evolutionary ancestors.

Dead Sea Scrolls are Important Discovery in Biblical Archeology

Dead Sea Scrolls are Important Discovery in Biblical Archeology

The Dead Sea Scrolls saga is an epic that would have made Hollywood director Cecil B. DeMille twitch with envy.
The story has all the elements of DeMille’s “Ten Commandments” and more, everything from biblical prophecies and international intrigue to an ancient treasure map.
The Milwaukee Public Museum’s exhibit “Dead Sea Scrolls and the Bible: Ancient Artifacts, Timeless Treasures,” running Jan. 22 through June 6, is an epic production in its own right. Five years in the making, it’s the largest temporary exhibit ever produced by the museum. The show contains more than 200 items from scroll fragments to pages from medieval Bibles.
The exhibit is designed to explain the importance of the 2,000-year-old Dead Sea Scrolls discovered in Qumran beginning in 1947. These parchments have shed new light on the Bible itself and on the times in which the Old Testament was created.

King David Era Pottery Shard Supports Biblical Narrative

King David Era Pottery Shard Supports Biblical Narrative

IsraelNN.com) A breakthrough in the research of the Hebrew Scriptures has shed new light on the period in which the Bible books of the Prophets were written. Professor Gershon Galil of the Department of Biblical Studies at the University of Haifa has deciphered an inscription dating from the 10th century BCE (the period of King David’s reign) and has proven the inscription to be ancient Hebrew, thus making it the earliest known example of Hebrew writing.
The significance of this breakthrough relates to the fact that at least some of the Biblical scriptures are now proven to have been composed hundreds of years before the dates presented today in research and that the Kingdom of Israel already existed at that time.
The inscription itself, which was written in ink on a 15×16.5cm trapezoid pottery shard, was discovered a year and a half ago at excavations that were carried out by Professor Yosef Garfinkel near the Elah valley, south of Jerusalem, and west of Hevron.

Ancient Tablet Tells New Story of Noah’s Ark

THAT they led the enormous floating wildlife collection aboard two by two is well known. Less familiar, however, is the possibility that the animals Noah shepherded on to his ark then went round and round inside.
According to newly translated instructions inscribed in ancient Babylonian on a clay tablet telling the story of the ark, the vessel that saved one virtuous man, his family and the animals from God’s watery wrath was not the pointy-prowed craft of popular imagination but rather a giant circular reed raft.

What is the Age of the Earth?

What is the Age of the Earth?

The Big Bang Theory is an attempt to explain the origin of the universe without the need for a Creator. One obvious difficulty with the theory is the evident order in the universe, galactic walls, precise distances of earth, sun and moon etc. that cannot have arisen from an explosion! Then the great problem of there being insufficient mass in the universe and the need to appeal to “dark matter” to account for the supposed accretion of the sub-atomic particles. Comets provide tangible evidence for a universe of limited age. Comets consist of ice and dust: Haley’s comet is a long period comet and returns to our solar system every 76 years, at which time it loops around our sun then returns to outer space. During the four to five months it remains within our solar system it loses water by sublimation at 10 tons per second leaving a trail of dust and gets visibly smaller. The fact that we see comets at all indicates just a few thousand years otherwise they would have all been used up long ago. In 1950 Jan H. Oort (1900-1992) proposed that there is a great cloud of comets beyond our solar system to account for the continuing existence of comets. There is not a shred of evidence for it.

Why Do Evolutionists Claim Billions of Years?

Why Do Evolutionists Claim Billions of Years?

It was assumed that the distribution of the fossils in the strata was perceived to represent a record of the evolution of life throughout earth’s history. This notion had originally been proposed by the Greeks. But it was Charles Darwin who later provided a mechanism by which one life form was believed to have become another. The multiple millions of years were equally as essential to him for his theory to work. Again, the same argument was used for the evolution of life: it all takes place so slowly that it can’t be see

    Ancient Church at Armageddon

    Ancient Church at Armageddon

The Christian world is buzzing with news of a major find. Israeli archaeologists have uncovered the ruins of a third or fourth century church in northern Israel, which they believe could be the oldest ever found in the Holy Land. The church contains a well-preserved mosaic with references to Jesus Christ and images of fish—an ancient Christian symbol. “This find is once in a lifetime,” chief archaeologist Yotam Tefer told israel today.

“It’s very, very exciting. It’s a very dramatic discovery because an old building of this type has never been found in the Land of Israel.” The church was found during renovations at a prison in Megiddo—what the New Testament calls Armageddon— the site where all the armies of the world will meet for the final showdown between good and evil.

    Rebuilding the Temple

    Rebuilding the Temple

How is it that John knew 1900 years ago, that a gentile religious building would occupy the temple mount site, other than the temple itself? If you think about it, this is an outrageous thought to any Fundamentalist Jew. That a gentile religious site would share the temple mount site with their temple. And yet, 1900 years ago, John sees that there is just such a structure there, in the outer court of the temple, AMAZING!

John is told to take a “Reed” a device used during that time for measuring things. He is to go and measure the temple. He is told to not measure the “outer court” because it “Has been given to the Gentiles.”

    Was Ardi Our Ape Ancestor?

    Was Ardi Our Ape Ancestor?

A major fossil find has made its splash in the news recently - a primate named “Ardi” who is believed to date to 4.4 million years ago, 1.2 million years earlier than the famous australopithecine Lucy. Paleoanthropologists are making a big to-do about Ardi, just as they have other ancient ape species found in northern Africa. Despite all the fuss, Ardi - like her neighbor Lucy - is still just an extinct species of ape
