    Prophecy: The Battle of Armageddon

    The Battle of Armageddon

Revelation 19:19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him (Messiah) who sat on the horse and against His army.

Revelation 19:15 Now out of His mouth (Messiah) goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations.

The Lord will simply speak as though His words were a great double-edged sword, and all the armies of the antichrist will perish. Isaiah describes the garments of the Lord that will be stained with the blood of His enemies, as one who treads out grapes in a winepress—splashes the blood of grapes upon himself.

Isaiah asks the Messiah: Why is Your apparel red, And Your garments like one who treads in the winepress? —Isaiah 63:2

The Lord answers: …He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. —Revelation 19:15

The fulfillment of this prophecy from Isaiah 63:1-3 is future, as the seven-year Tribulation and the second coming of the Messiah have not yet taken place.

The war described by this prophecy is fully detailed in Revelation Chapter 16 and 19. This is the most famous battle that will ever be fought on planet earth. Every nation will contribute their fighting men and machinery to assist the new world leader in his assault on Jesus, as He returns to earth. Megiddo is an ancient site of great strategic military importance where some of the world’s most famous battles have taken place. The importance of this conflict cannot be overstated. The winner will have control over the entire Middle East and the world.

  • The Book of Daniel: Key to the Last Days

The Book of Daniel: Key to the Last Days

Daniel Chapter 9, beginning at verse 24, describes the entire prophetic calendar for the last days, and it makes it crystal clear that the purpose of the seven-year Tribulation is for Israel, not the church of Jesus Christ.

In this prophecy given by the Angel Gabriel, Daniel is told that 70 weeks of years or a period of 490 years (70 X 7 = 490) are determined for the Jews. We understand what the definition of a prophetic week is, from the text in Genesis Chapter 29. Jacob has worked for Laban for seven years in order to pay the dowry required to marry Rachel. At the end of the seven years, Laban tells Jacob to work an additional seven years, to fulfill her week.

Genesis 29:27 Fulfill her week, and we will give you this one also for the service which you will serve with me still another seven years.

During these 70 weeks of years (490 years), all Biblical prophecies will be completed.

To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.

The Prophecy will be in three parts:

First, a period of 7 weeks or 49 years.

Next, a period of 62 weeks or 483 years.

Finally, a period of 1 week or 7 years.

  • You Are Not Appointed To Wrath

You Are Not Appointed To Wrath

The reason that a correct understanding of the doctrine of the Rapture is so important, is that an incorrect view will lead to a misconception of the character of God. Because of the love and grace of the Lord, He has not appointed those who have placed their trust in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins, to experience any of His wrath. All of God’s wrath was poured out on His Son at the Cross. There is no wrath remaining for anyone who has accepted Jesus sacrifice for their sins. The entire purpose of the last three and one-half years of the Great Tribulation, is to pour out God’s wrath on the world which has rejected Jesus sacrifice for their sins. Those who Love Jesus could not be present during the time that God is pouring out His wrath on the world.

If we believe that the Tribulation must come before the Rapture of the church, what would we be looking for next? The coming of the antichrist. Instead, the Bible teaches that we should be looking for the “appearing of our Great God, and Savior Jesus Christ.” The Rapture is the next event to occur, before the beginning of the Tribulation period.

Titus 2:13 …looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.

The greatest hope for the world today is that Jesus would return to the earth an bring His love and righteous government. It is certain that we have reached a place in our history when the climate is right for the Lord’s return. Jesus said in Luke 17:26 “And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man.” The days before the Lord destroyed the earth by flood were filled with violence and indifference towards God. Today we observe an exact mirror image of the world in those days of Noah when he entered the Ark and the world was covered by water. I hope that you are fully prepared for the coming of the Lord, having entered into a personal relationship with Him. Jesus is coming for all those who love Him, I hope to see you in the air at His arrival.

Prophecy: Earth Will be Struck by a Giant Asteroid

As we examine the world today. Increases in violence, and the prevalence of evil all over the face of the earth, we understand that the return of Jesus for His church at the event called “the Rapture”, cannot be far off. When the Rapture takes place, the world will begin the events described in the Book of Revelation, chapter 6, “The Tribulation Period.” Beginning at Revelation chapter 6, the opening of the first “seal” by Jesus, commences a seven year peace instituted by someone who appears to be like Jesus, but will instead be the “antichrist” coming as a false “Savior”. He is described by chapter 6, verse 1 as riding on a white horse similar to the description of Jesus in Revelation chapter 19, when He returns to earth.

At the opening of the second seal, the temporary peace that the antichrist has brought, is interrupted at the middle of the seven years, by war. The Third seal reveals the results of a massive global war; a shortage of food. The Fourth seal reveals global death from the war that has ensued. The fifth seal reveals the murder of those who receive Jesus as their Savior during this time. The sixth seal begins a description that sounds like a massive onslaught of Asteroids making contact with the earth.

  • Prophecy: “The End of All Flesh is Before Me”

Prophecy: “The End of All Flesh is Before Me”

When every new day brings news of a shooting or some other act of violence, we wonder when it will all end. It seems as though the world has become sick and there is no cure. All around us there is so much pain and suffering, it feels like the world we live in is a dark planet in some distant corner of the universe, not our home.

There was a time when the earth also became dark and evil and the people of our planet were far from God. The Bible records that there was one man and his family who were righteous, amongst the entire population of earth, Noah.

God told Noah that the end of all flesh was before Him. The earth was filled with violence and the wickedness of man was great on the earth. The Lord instructed Noah to prepare himself and his family for a judgement that was coming. He and his family alone, would be preserved through the darkness of what was coming upon the earth.

  • Prophecy: America Will Repeat Israel’s Greatest Error

Prophecy: America Will Repeat Israel’s Greatest Error

It was because of this gradual decline in the obedience of the people of Israel, forgetting the Lord’s “precepts and judgments”, that God allowed Nebuchadnezzar to siege their city and take captive their people.

If we believe that the United States of America was called by God to be a special nation above all other nations, for the purpose of displaying His great power, love, and grace, can we as a nation avoid a similar fate if we turn away from God?

If God did not spare Israel the invasion of a pagan nation and the total destruction and loss of everything they held dear, can we escape, if we follow the very same path they took?

It is no secret that America is not the same country that it was in former days. We have become a social welfare nation. A dwelling place for the execution of the unborn for convenience. We have seen over the course of the past 40 years, the degradation of the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman, and the allowance of sexual sin; men with men, and women with women. Our government spends vastly more than it takes in with a current massive increase in the national debt of well over 16 Trillion dollars.

  • The Final Kingdom of this World

The Final Kingdom of this World

Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”

News every morning reminds us that this present world cannot continue under it’s current path for much longer. Global financial crisis, sin abounding, the hearts of many growing cold. Man is not getting better, more sophisticated and refined, he is increasingly becoming a debased creature with all restraint being cast off. As with many kingdoms before those presently on the earth, who by their inability to keep social morality controlled, gradually degraded themselves to the point where the were subdued. Not by any foreign enemy who crossed their borders with an invading army, but from within, by the collapse of social morals. If a proper examination is made of all great nations who enjoyed world-wide influence and power, it was by the acceptance of social sins such as homosexuality, abortion, and the normalcy of sexual perversion, that brought these nations to their knees.

  • If December 21, 2012 is The End of the World, Are You Ready?

If December 21, 2012 is The End of the World, Are You Ready?

It is just one day before the world is supposed to end, according to some not-so-experts. Survival gear, Ready-to-Eat meals, guns and ammunition are selling at a brisk pace. Many people are taking the threat of Earth’s end seriously.

Scientists say that there is no chance that the world will end tomorrow. Theologians postulate that there is no indication in the Bible that December 21, 2012 is the end of the world.

I have written extensively on the subject, and I am certain that there are no Biblical prophecies that define 12-21-2012 as the final day of the existence of life on earth.

The Bible does say that the end of the world will come at a specific time, and it actually tells us the precise moment that the end of the world will occur. First Jesus will return to the earth in an event called “The Rapture”. This will happen quickly, violently, and without any warning. Suddenly, perhaps a Billion people will disappear from the earth and be seen no more.

The Bible describes the Rapture with these words:

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Verse 18 encourages those who understand the meaning of these words, to find “comfort” in them. If we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior, and are awaiting His return, then these words can bring us great comfort. If on the other hand, we have not committed our life to Jesus Christ, then the thought of a Billion people suddenly vanishing from the face of the earth is very frightening.

  • An In-Depth Look at the Doctrine of the “Rapture”

An In-Depth Look at the Doctrine of the “Rapture”

A person not living in the daily expectation that Jesus could come at any moment, will become preoccupied with their own life and the things that are happening in this world. This mind set will cause the believer to do things that are contrary to the character of someone who is following Jesus. Finally, this lack of expectation will cause this person to be unaware when Jesus does come, and they will be caught by surprise when He returns.

The person who lives everyday in expectation that Jesus could come at any moment, will live a life that is constantly seeking to purify itself of things that are contrary to the Lord.

1 John 3:2-3 …when Jesus is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Jesus will reward the faithfulness of the person watching for His return with rulership over many cities and people during his one thousand year reign on the earth at the end of the seven year Tribulation.

Luke 19:17 And he said to him, “Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’

If upon His return, the Lord shall find a person who claims to believe in Him, but has lost the expectation of His soon return, and gone back into the world to live as non believer, He will “I will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.” (Luke 12:46 above)

How important is it that we continually teach the doctrine of “The Rapture of the Church?” According to Jesus, is one of the most important doctrines that we MUST continually study, meditate on, and continue to look forward to.

One of the points that critics of the Rapture claim, is that “The Rapture is not taught in the Bible”. When I hear someone say this, I am always amazed. I know that they didn’t come to this conclusion by reading and studying the Bible themselves. This opinion came by what they heard someone else say or teach. If we simply read the Bible we will come away with the conviction that Jesus will return for His church at a time just prior to the beginning of the seven year Tribulation.

  • December 21, 2012, The End is Near…

    December 21, 2012, The End is Near…

If you are planning on stockpiling food and water for the predicted end of the world on December 21, don’t. One thing is for certain, a pagan culture does not know when the end will come. The Bible has predicted with one hundred percent accuracy, over 2,500 prophecies that have already come to pass, exactly as written. What other book or publication in the history of the world can compare to this record? None.

The end of the world is vividly described in the book of Revelation as coming after the return of Jesus to the earth, at the end of His 1,000-year reign as King of the earth.

The next event prophetically, is the Rapture of the church. It is possible that the Rapture may occur on December 21, 2012, for no one really knows the “day or the hour” that Jesus will return for His church. All we know is that His return is imminent and can happen at any moment. Only those who have surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will be taken from the Earth, this is Jesus’ promise to us who love Him.

  • Prophecy of the Messiah Coming the Second Time with Wrath

Prophecy of the Messiah Coming the Second Time with Wrath

The Old Testament is clear in that the promised Messiah will have two appearances on the earth. The first for salvation, the second for judgement. Those who will live through the horrors of the seven year tribulation, will find Jesus visiting the earth in 21 judgments that will cause two-thirds of the people of the earth to perish. Those who have waited for his return will be removed from the earth before the seven year tribulation begins. Either by being raptured out of the earth in an instant, or by resurrection from the dead, both alive or dead, will meet Jesus in the air.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.

All those who come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ during the seven year tribulation, shall find themselves under the terror of ”The beast”. This new global ruler will appear on the world scene shortly after the disappearance of all believers in Jesus, at the Rapture. He will command the inhabitants of the world to give their worship to him in exchange for the right to be able to “buy or sell” during the seven years.

Prophecy of the Messiah’s Wrath in the Tribulation Period

Prophecy of the Messiah’s Wrath in the Tribulation Period

The Messiah will bring the wrath of God during the seven year Tribulation period.

    Old Testament Prediction:

Psalms 2:5 “Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure:”

    New Testament Fulfillment:

Revelation 6:15-17 “And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

    Application:

There are three aspects of Jesus coming to earth; as “Savior”, “Judge”, and “King”.

Jesus first appearance was for the purpose of fulfilling the Old Testament prophecies regarding the coming Messiah who shall lay down his life as “The Lamb of God”, being the Savior of all men. At Jesus second appearance, He will be coming as “Judge”, who will bring God’s wrath to the earth that has rejected Him. By the execution of 21 judgments described in the Book of Revelation, God will complete His wrath over the earth that has rejected His Son. Upon the completion of the outpouring of his wrath, Jesus will establish a kingdom over the earth for a period of one thousand years, reigning as “King” over all the earth.

The Building of the Third Temple in Israel

The Building of the Third Temple in Israel

Revelation Chapter 11:1 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, “Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. 2 “But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. This is a truly amazing chapter in the Book of Revelation. Remember that this was written about 90 A.D., more than 1,900 years ago, and yet it speaks clearly of the temple in Jerusalem being measured. At the time John is writing this, their own temple had already been destroyed in 70 A.D. by Titus and his Roman army. John sees a temple that is future for him, the Third temple that will exist on this site, will not be built until the beginning of the 7 year Tribulation period. You see, we have a bit of a problem right now, in that the Islamic Religious site, the “Dome of the Rock”, occupies the Temple mount site in Jerusalem. How is it that John knew 1900 years ago, that a gentile religious building would occupy the temple mount site, other than the temple itself? If you think about it, this is an outrageous thought to any Fundamentalist Jew. That a gentile religious site would share the temple mount site with their temple. And yet 1900 years ago, John sees that there is just such a structure there in the outer court of the temple, amazing!

  • The Signs of Jesus Return

    The Signs of Jesus Return

The purpose of Bible prophecy is so that we might know that the Bible is not just another book penned by men, but a supernatural document with it’s source from outside time and space. The Bible is unique in that it makes predictions of the future with such detail and precision, that the slightest error would make any one of those prophecies unreliable. In over 2,500 Biblical prophecies, every single minute detail has been completed with precision and accuracy. The odds of any book being able to predict over 2,5o0 events in advance with 100 percent accuracy, is beyond the possibility of chance. The certainty of the fulfillment of these events already predicted and already fulfilled, gives confidence to the remaining 1,000 prophetic predictions that are yet to be fulfilled. If the Bible has been perfectly accurate so far, it is certain that the events spoken of describing the last days before Jesus returns, most certainly will also be fulfilled accurately. The following is a short list of some of those prophetic events already fulfilled, to be fulfilled and in the process of being fulfilled.

This article and the importance of the details of this article, are the reason that I started Bible Prophecy Update. So that you might realize that the Lord of the Universe has a plan that He has been unfolding for thousands of years, and that plan includes His desire to make Himself known to you. As you read, study and become familiar with the events of Bible prophecy, you will realize that the Lord is who He claims to be. That there is a God who is above all creation and who loves every human being equally and with great fervor. When we failed to be what He had created us to be and the defect of sin spread to all human kind, He took it upon Himself to become one of us, and give His life in exchange for all of ours. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on a Roman cross 2,000 years ago, paid the price all of us owed for our own individual and collective sins, forever. If you will place your complete trust in what Jesus has done for you at the Cross, and accept Jesus as your own Savior, you will be cleansed of your total sin and obtain eternal life.

When Jesus returns next, it will not be physically to the earth, but to the atmosphere above earth, from where He will call out of the earth all those who have already come into a personal relationship with Him and have accepted His sacrifice for their sins. (1 Thessalonians 4:17)

Asteroid 2011 AG5 on a Collision Course With Earth

Those who study Bible Prophecy are always interested in the occurrences of Near Earth Objects that will pass within close proximity to earth. The potential for massive destruction and loss of human life, in the event of an impact by one of these larger Asteroids, gives great cause for concern.

Asteroid 2011 AG5, is one of the most recent giants that has given scientists alarm. At more than 460 feet wide, this space rock is on a potential collision course with Earth in the year 2040. The estimated destructive power of an impact with Earth by this asteroid is about 105 Megatons of TNT, or approximately 2 larger Thermonuclear Detonations.

In reminiscence of the recent movies “Armageddon” and “Deep Impact”, scientists have already given such great concern to this asteroid that they are planning how to deflect it.

Discovered in January of 2011, we are only now learning of this dangerous asteroid from the scientific community. It makes us wonder if a planet killer were ever on a direct course with earth, if we would ever know about such a threat, before it would happen.

  • The Rapture of the Church and 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2

The Rapture of the Church and 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2

From the moment that I first learned the doctrine of the Rapture of the Church in 1975, there has been a deep controversy by those who claim that the Rapture will not occur until after the Tribulation has concluded.

One of the verses of Scripture that is used to prove this position is 2 Thessalonians chapter 2.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 “Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed…”

It should be clear from the context of 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 that Paul is addressing a concern that the Thessalonian church had regarding the coming of Jesus for the second time. There were some in this small church that felt that perhaps the Rapture had already taken place. This being the case, they questioned what had happened to their departed loved ones. Where were they and when would they be resurrected?

Asteroid Near Miss on Tuesday: Warnings of Revelation Chapter 8

On Tuesday November 8, 2011, the Earth will encounter one of the closest “near miss” confrontations with an Asteroid, that has occurred in more than 40 years. Given the name Asteroid “2005 YU55″, there will be just 202,000 miles between this large asteroid and our planet. If that does not sound to you like much of a threat, understand that the moon is approximately 238,856 miles from earth. Imagine an object over 1,000 feet long, traveling at 30,000 miles per hour, and it’s distance from earth, less than that of the moon.

Were an object of this size to strike our planet, the force would be equal to over 500 nuclear explosions the size of Hiroshima, detonated all at once. A strike on our planet of this magnitude would generate massive tectonic plate shifts, Tsunamis in excess of 70 feet, and would annihilate many Island communities, as well as those living on the coastlands of mainland countries. The death toll could conceivably be in excess of several hundred million.
