Prophecy: ‘Every Eye Will See Him’

Prophecy: ‘Every Eye Will See Him’

Revelation 1:7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. There has been much confusion over the years as to the return of Jesus Christ. Many people do not understand that Jesus will be returning to the earth two more times before the end of the age.

The next major event on the prophetic time clock is the arrival of Jesus to the outer atmosphere of earth as described by Paul in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4:

1Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Commentators on the Bible have labeled this event as “The Rapture” because of the Greek word for “Caught Up” in verse 17, “Harpazo”, which means to be “Taken Away”.

Genesis 3:15: The First Prophecy in the Bible

Genesis 3:15: The First Prophecy in the Bible

In the Book of Genesis chapter 3, Adam sets a course that causes all men after him to become sinners. As Adam eats of the fruit and has his eyes opened to a knowledge of good and evil, his relationship with God is changed from one who walks with God to one whom hides from God. As the Lord comes to Adam, he cries out to him, “Adam where are you”, not in anger or in an attempt to scold him, but in the tender voice of a brokenhearted father who cannot find his child. “Adam where are you… Where are you and I at now Adam in our relationship? You used to seek me out for fellowship, now you are hiding from me, Adam where are you….” The reality of sin is that it causes us to hide from God. Either in guilt over the sin, or in love of the sin, human beings hide from their creator and fellowship between the two is lost.

New BPU Feature: ‘Through The Prophecy’s of the Bible’

New BPU Feature: ‘Through The Prophecy’s of the Bible’

As a part of our growth and development of Bible Prophecy Update, we are adding a new feature. Beginning today we will go through the Bible, starting with the very first prophecy in the Bible, and write a brief commentary on each of these verses of scripture as they occur in order, from Genesis to Revelation. In the 19th chapter of the Book of Revelation, one of the angels who is dictating to John the events of the Last Days, says to John, “The Testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy”. (Revelation 19:10) The entire purpose of Bible prophecy is to illuminate Jesus and reveal Him for who He truly is. Prophecy is not about predicting the future as much as it’s intended purpose is to show the one who is in control of the future. Jesus is the Author of all life and the one to which all life depends. The entire Bible is about Him and His intended purpose to bring the love of God to whomsoever will believe in Him and trust Him for their eternal life. We will seek to relate each of these prophecy’s in the Bible to Jesus, His plan and purpose for the world and the events of the last days in which we currently live.
