A New Book by Rob Robinson: ‘Simple Revelation’

The Author of Bible Prophecy Update is publishing his new book “Simple Revelation” in the next few months. The following is the introduction for “Simple Revelation”, a Commentary on the Book of Revelation and the Last Days” by Rob Robinson. Over the course of coming months Rob will share with you excerpts from his new book here on BPU’s Amazon Kindle Blog.

We live in exciting days!

The Bible describes events that would happen around the world and also in the heavens themselves, that would cause men to tremble and their hearts to fail them over fear of things coming upon the earth.

We are privileged to live in these final prophetic days and to see with our own eyes stunning developments that men have longed to understand for countless generations. These astonishing events predicted in the Bible, are now suddenly unfolding right before our eyes. The nations of the world are joining themselves together in an alliance that will be ruled by one man who will capture the hearts and imaginations of people around the world.

Armies rising, financial markets destabilizing and collapsing, religions travailing, all in a prequel to the coming of the “Son of Perdition” to whom the world will marvel after and proclaim, “Who is like unto the beast and who is able to make war with him?”

You and I live during a period of time that the Bible describes more than any other era in all of human history. Days that will bring the soon return of the King of all Kings and Lord of all Lords to finally rule over the nations of this hurting and dying planet.

All of the Bible is about just one subject: Jesus. Who He is, what He has done, why He created the universe. How His creation fell, and how in His love He came to redeem it. In His ultimate victory, how He will return again to remove from the earth those who love Him, before He brings His final fury. In ultimate finality, Jesus will bring His wrath to this planet for a period of seven final years in which two-thirds of the people of earth will perish in three sets of twenty one judgments.

These are the topics of the Book of Revelation, but it is for certain that the entirety of the Bible itself is really about the subject of Jesus Christ and who He is. Any valid study of the prophetic events described in the Bible must have as it’s primary focus, the person and intended goal of revealing Jesus, who Himself said: “In the volume of the Book it is written of Me…”

Hebrews 10:7 Then Jesus said, “Behold, I have come—In the volume of the book it is written of Me—To do Your will, O God.

Jesus scolded the Scribes and the Pharisees because they had failed to recognize Him when He came the first time and to attribute all the Old Testament scriptures to the works that Jesus performed.

John 5:39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.

It is important to remember that all Scripture, all Prophecy, every word that is in the Bible, every text of the Book of Revelation, is about the person of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 19:10 … For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

The Book of Revelation is about Who Jesus is today, what He looks like, what He is about to accomplish, and how he is going to bring the Kingdom of God to the earth and reign supreme over every government, all kingdoms and every society of man.

When Jesus returns the second time physically to the earth at the end of the seven year Tribulation, it will not be as the suffering and dying servant, described as “The Lamb of God”, but as the victorious mighty Lord of the universe, “King of Kings, and Lord of Lords”, ready to execute judgment and Righteousness.

Whatever it is that you believe you are searching for in your life, someday you will find that it was Jesus all along that was the true desire of your heart. Though you did not understand this longing at the time, when you see Him face to face, you will understand that He was the true desire of your soul. Most people today do not understand this important truth and for many, once Jesus does return to earth, it will be too late.

All that we know is that there is something missing in our lives. We know it from the day that we are born, and we pursue that missing peace until the day that we die. The Bible says that what we are really searching for is “The Living God”.

Psalms 84:2 “My soul longs, yes, even faints For the courts of the LORD; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.”

And yet from one generation to the next, most people miss Jesus. Even though He has made Himself clearly known to us through His Word, Men do not find Him because they are not searching for Him.

There are some however, who have discovered that as they have searched the very recesses of their soul, that there is a knowledge that a Creator does exist. With this longing of our heart to know why we are here and what our purpose for existing is, we discover that we can find ourselves by finding Him who made us. It is possible to know our creator as we discover who Jesus is as He is portrayed in the Bible. What we have all searched for and longed after all our lives is Jesus. When we finally find Him, everything else comes into perfect focus as never before in all the journeys of our searching.

The world is headed for what the Bible describes as “Perilous Times”. Days in which the “Hearts of men will fail them over the fear of the things that are coming upon the earth…”

The events described in the Bible that give us clear indication that the return of Jesus is near are specific and detailed. Among these events of greatest importance is the return of the Jewish people to their own land in Israel and the establishment of their country as a nation once again.

Ezekiel 36:24 “For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.”

In former generations the thought of Israel becoming a nation once again after being disbursed throughout the whole earth for 2,000 years was an impossibility. Against all odds, this miraculous event happened on May 14, 1948. In fulfillment of the 36th and 37th chapters of the Book of Ezekiel, the Lord gathered the Jewish people from among all the nations and brought them back into their own land once again and Israel became a nation just as God had predicted, “In a single day”.

Isaiah 66:8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once?

Today we understand that it was impossible that Jesus could return and that all of the events described in the Book of Revelation could have occurred until Israel was a nation once more. How could the antichrist fulfill “The abomination that brings desolation” at the temple in Israel unless Israel had been established and the temple rebuilt once again?

There would be no valid discussion of the Book of Revelation and the Return of Jesus to the earth in application to this present period of human history, were it not for the fact that God has brought Israel back into her own land and has established her as a nation as He promised that He would, “In the Last Days.”

Israel a nation again being a pre requisite for the return of Jesus, there being many others prophecies that also would need to occur to make sure the events of Revelation would in fact be imminent:

The nations of the word would be in the process of uniting themselves into one world government, one religion, one monetary system, one kingdom.

The hearts of Gods own people, would be growing progressively colder and less interested in living a life set apart and dedicated to the Lord as described by Paul in 2 Timothy chapter 3.

There would be great signs in the earth that the end is near: Cataclysmic natural disasters in various places, increasing in severity and frequency as described by Jesus in Matthew chapter 24.

There would be an evil that would pervade over the entire earth, that would be identical to the evil that was present on the earth during the time of Noah when God destroyed the world by a great global flood.

The angel Gabriel told Daniel that a knowledge of prophecy would increase in the last days and that men would have the ability to travel over the entire earth.

Then, just as the world seemed bent on total destruction, Jesus would remove from the earth all those who had fallen in Love with Him. Those who were living for Him and were expecting Him to come at any moment, suddenly and dramatically, He would come for His church and take them back to heaven before the beginning of the seven years of tribulation described in chapter six of the Book of Revelation.

So after the disappearance of millions, a period of time so fierce, so violent, so murderous and destructive, that “Unless those days were shortened to just 7 years, not one human being would survive.

These are the topics of the Book of Revelation. In Simple Revelation we will explore and understand each one of them in detail and make application of these last days events to our own lives.

The Word “Revelation” is from the Greek word “Apocalypse” which means “Unveiling.” There are Over 800 Old Testament references in the 404 verses of the Book of Revelation. In the process of studying the Book of Revelation you will gain a good working knowledge of the rest of the Bible.

The Holy Spirit, who is the true author of the Bible, assumes that you have already read the other 65 Books of the Bible before you get to the Book of Revelation. As He makes reference to many events that will be happening during the last days, the Holy Spirit refer to hundreds of Old Testament verses in explaining and describing what is happening throughout the 222 chapter of Revelation.

One of the chief reasons that people have such a hard time understanding the Book of Revelation is that they have not read and studied the rest of the Bible first. I was reading a commentary about the Book of Revelation on a very well known web site bearing the domain name “Revelation Commentary” that had hundreds of inaccuracies, due largely to a lack of knowledge of all the rest of the verses in the Bible and how to tie them all together.

If a person will just allow the Bible to speak for itself and compare scripture with scripture, an understanding of the text of the Book of Revelation is really very easy to understand, as I am sure the Lord intended it to be.

But don’t worry, if you have not yet read for yourself the entirety of the Bible, in this in-depth Study of Revelation, you will be brought to almost every single Book in the Bible and gain a good working knowledge of the entire Bible.

Without further delay let us begin our verse by verse study of the most amazing book the world has ever known:
