    Are Increases in Natural Disasters a Sign of Jesus Return?

    Whatever your opinion is of the occurrences of natural disasters, the data regarding the marked increase in frequency and intensity is compelling. It is not a coincidence that this data runs parallel to Jesus prediction that these natural events would indicate to the residents of earth that His supernatural return was near. In fact, the entire purpose of the 3,5oo0 prophetic predictions found in the 66 books of the Bible, of which over 3,00o have already been fulfilled with 100 precision and accuracy, is to prove to the reader that the Bible is a supernatural document from outside the domain of time. The reason that Jesus told us there would be an increase in natural disasters just prior to His return, was to prepare us so that we would not be caught off guard.

    The Signs of Jesus Return

    The purpose of Bible prophecy is so that we might know that the Bible is not just another book penned by men, but a supernatural document with it’s source from outside time and space. The Bible is unique in that it makes predictions of the future with such detail and precision, that the slightest error would make any one of those prophecies unreliable. In over 2,500 Biblical prophecies, every single minute detail has been completed with precision and accuracy. The odds of any book being able to predict over 2,5o0 events in advance with 100 percent accuracy, is beyond the possibility of chance. The certainty of the fulfillment of these events already predicted and already fulfilled, gives confidence to the remaining 1,000 prophetic predictions that are yet to be fulfilled. If the Bible has been perfectly accurate so far, it is certain that the events spoken of describing the last days before Jesus returns, most certainly will also be fulfilled accurately. The following is a short list of some of those prophetic events already fulfilled, to be fulfilled and in the process of being fulfilled.

    This article and the importance of the details of this article, are the reason that I started Bible Prophecy Update. So that you might realize that the Lord of the Universe has a plan that He has been unfolding for thousands of years, and that plan includes His desire to make Himself known to you. As you read, study and become familiar with the events of Bible prophecy, you will realize that the Lord is who He claims to be. That there is a God who is above all creation and who loves every human being equally and with great fervor. When we failed to be what He had created us to be and the defect of sin spread to all human kind, He took it upon Himself to become one of us, and give His life in exchange for all of ours. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on a Roman cross 2,000 years ago, paid the price all of us owed for our own individual and collective sins, forever. If you will place your complete trust in what Jesus has done for you at the Cross, and accept Jesus as your own Savior, you will be cleansed of your total sin and obtain eternal life.

    When Jesus returns next, it will not be physically to the earth, but to the atmosphere above earth, from where He will call out of the earth all those who have already come into a personal relationship with Him and have accepted His sacrifice for their sins. (1 Thessalonians 4:17)

    A Chronological List of Events For the Last Days

    A Chronological List of Events For the Last Days

    This is the second in a four-part series on the Last Days. In this study we will look at a Chronology of the events from the present time in history, up to the end of time here on the earth, as described in the Bible

    Two of the most asked questions from those who are interested in Bible Prophecy, are

    “What is going to happen next in the world?”

    “What does the Bible have to say about the events of the Last Days?”

    Jesus said that the entire scope of all Prophecy in the last days, is centered around the nation of Israel. For almost 2,000 years the Jews were scattered all over the face of the earth. Being without a land of their own, they had lost their national identity and their homeland.

    While Israel was without their own country, the Prophet Ezekiel wrote of a time in the last days when God would draw the Jews from all over the face of the earth, and place them back to their own land again.

    Ezekiel 37:21-22 “Then say to them, “Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land…

    The promise of restoration by the Lord, is that once the Jews are back in their own land again, they will be protected by the Lord and dwell there permanently. Once they are in their land, in the last days, the Lord will allow Israel to rebuilt their Temple again and re-institute the temple sacrifice.

    Ezekiel 37:26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore.

    Israel is often referred to as being like a “fig tree” in the old testament:

    Hosea 9:10 “I found Israel Like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers As the firstfruits on the fig tree in its first season.

    Jesus said that when we see the fig tree once again blossom and put forth leaves, that we know that summer is near. This is a poetic play on words that was understood by the Jews to mean that when Israel became a nation again,back in their own land, that the Lord’s return was near.

    The Last Days: Where Is The World Headed?

    For many people the 9.0 earthquake in Japan, the ensuing Tsunami, Nuclear Meltdown and spread of radioactive debris across the atmosphere, teamed with the Arab uprising in several countries, has caused a great pause in our questions for tomorrow.

    What is coming next? Where is all this leading? What does the Bible have to say about these events and are they an indication that we are living in the Last Days?

    In the last part of Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus began to explain what the conditions of the world would be like in the final days.

    Matthew 24:3-8 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

    The disciples wanted to know when the last days would arrive and what would be the signs of Jesus’ return.

    Jesus said:

    The last days would be characterized by a great time of Deception.
    Many will come and claim to be the Christ.
    There will be many wars and rumors of wars.
    There will be Famines, Pestilences, and Earthquakes in various places.

    Battle For the World: Shi’a Versus Sunni

    A few days ago, shephard Smith of Fox News made the comment: “The whole world is falling down around us…”
    Shepherd made this comment after having reported on the Muslim uprising’s that have recently began in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Two normally quiet and peaceful nations, now thrust into the same battles over leadership that Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Jordan, Algeria, Sudan, and Somalia are experiencing.

    These are Muslim against Muslim revolutions. For most non-Mulsim’s we don’t have a clue what are they really fighting over?

    The major news channels report that these people are in revolt because of dictatorial governments in these Arab nations that oppress and impinge the civil liberties of their people. The truth is that the cause of these uprising’s is much more sinister.

    Amongst the Muslim people, there are two groups that have apposing ideas about how their religion should be led.

    Islam originated with the prophet Muhammad. When he died, a division began with two groups called the Shi’a and the Sunni.

    Sunni Muslims hold the position that leadership for Muslims should come from the most capable.

    Shi’a Muslims hold the position that leadership for Muslims should come from the Prophet Muhammad’s own family.

    Is the United States in Danger of Japan’s Nuclear Fallout?

    With four of Japan’s nuclear reactors in different stages of “Meltdown”, concerns are increasing over the possibility of the nuclear material from one of these reactors reaching the United States.
    A normal part of the west to east flow of air across the earth, moves anything in the atmosphere, across the Pacific ocean and to the United States.

    Any nuclear material making it’s way into the 30,000 foot range of the upper atmosphere is a candidate to be swept across the Pacific ocean in just four days.

    Once the fuel rods that contain radioactive Plutonium and Uranium begin to melt within the inner six inch thick stainless steel vessel, tremendous amounts of nuclear material are released into the air surrounding the nuclear plant.

    Current air currents indicate that any air over Japan will come to the United States within days. It is for certain that nuclear monitoring stations on the west coast of the United States will be closely monitoring the atmosphere for any nuclear particles.

    Many people are not aware that on March 23, 1989, an Asteroid larger than a 1,000 foot long aircraft carrier came within 6 hours of hitting earth.
    Moving through space at an incredible 47,000 miles per hour, had it hit earth the blast would have equaled one Hiroshima size detonation every second for over 50 days.

    Designated “Asteroid 1989 FC”, this monster sized rock is so large that it belongs to a special class of Asteroid called “Apollo” that have orbits around the Sun that intersect with Earth’s orbit. Should an Apollo class asteroid strike the earth it would mean the end of almost all life. Millions would die on impact, but the real danger is from the ensuing dust cloud caused by the impact that would circle the planet, blocking most of the sun’s rays from warming the earth.

    No Sun, no plants. No plants, no animals that feed on the plants. Global acid rain would scorch the earth, temperatures would plummet causing drastic polar type temperatures all over the earth. Billions could die in just the first year after the impact.

    After 17 days of demonstrations in Egypt, and 30 years of rule, President Hosni Mubarak has ended his dictatorship of Egypt. With the fall of the dictatorship of Egypt and the stepping down of Hosni Mubarak, we are going to see similar movements in other Arab nations in the coming months.

    There is great concern in Saudi Arabia that a parallel movement will begin shortly in their kingdom. The government leadership is Saudi Arabia is watching the events happening in Egypt today with great interest.

    The Society of the Muslim Brothers, also known as “Al-Ikhwān.” claims that they do not want a role in any new government of Egypt.

    According to their own definition, “The Muslim Brotherhood is an Islamist transnational movement and the largest political opposition organization in many Arab States.”

    Founded in 1928 in Egypt by the Islamic scholar and schoolteacher Hassan al-Banna. It is the goal of the Muslim Brotherhood to make the Qu’ran and Sunnah the rule of law and governing authority for the entire world.

    Using the Qu’ran as their governing authority, the Brotherhood believes that they have “The Perfect Way of Life” by controlling government and societies with Islamic Government. Their ultimate stated goal is to unify the world in a “Caliphate’, which is an all out and total control of every facet of life by Islam and the Qu’ran. Under Caliphate the Islamic rule seeks world-wide domination of every country and nation.

    Muslim Brotherhood: ‘Do Not Want Control of Egypt’

    Representatives of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt said they do not want to take over but merely want to be a part of government, CNN reported Wednesday.

    “The Muslim Brotherhood is not seeking power,” an official said speaking at a press conference. “We will not have a presidential candidate, we want to participate and help, we are not seeking power,” according to the report.

    In a move intended to distance the movement from allegations that it is an extremist group, former head of the Muslim Brotherhood’s parliamentary bloc, Mohammed Katatny, said: “We reject the religious state.”

    “We are not responsible for the speeches and statements of external forces.” Katatny added, “The regime has been using the Muslim Brotherhood scarecrow to tell the world that the regime is the only one who can safeguard the country, but this is wrong and it is their way to try to ignore the people’s demands,” CNN reported.

    Becoming a Vessel of Honor For Jesus in the Last Days

    As we approach the day of Jesus return, the world grows ever colder of heart, increasingly unconcerned about personal righteousness.

    We live in a generation of people who do what they want to do, when they want to do it. Even Christians have lots of reasons why they don’t live a life of righteousness.

    In the late 60′s and early 70′s when the “Jesus People Movement” was getting started, a person who came to the Lord, did so with complete intention of leaving all of the old life behind. It was assumed that the way that we used to live was not going to be the way we were going to live from now on. Habits, friends, even family members in many cases, were no longer a part of the new life we chose when we began to follow Jesus.

    Whatever it was that would slow us down or hinder us from drawing as close to Jesus as possible, had to go.

    When John describes himself in his gospel, he often refers to himself as “The Disciple who Jesus Loved.” At the last supper John is seen as the only one who is so near Jesus that he actually has his head on Jesus chest, and ear close to His heart. When Jesus was on His Cross in torment and torture, John was the only disciple who stood at the foot of Jesus Cross with Him.

    Noah’s Flood, and Then Some

    Northeastern Australia is currently under a whole lot of water. Nearly 200,000 residents have been forced to leave their home by floods that Queensland State Treasurer Andrew Fraser described as a “disaster of biblical proportions.” Fraser estimated the ultimate cost of the flooding would exceed A$1 billion (USD $980 million). That may not be truly biblical proportions, but it is pretty bad, and the people of Queensland are hurting.

    A bit closer to biblical proportions, the Indo-Asian News Service, via The Hindustan Times, declared last month that, “Noah’s flood began in 6,000 BC Canada, created Persian Gulf.” That’s an interesting headline. It is still not referring to a global flood that covered all the earth’s land, but rather a time after the last ice age when the water levels in the earth’s oceans rose by a significant amount.

    Egyptian Crisis Centers on Israel’s Security

    As we watch the events unfold in Egypt and the uncertainty of their future government, we are directed to the question of how Egypt’s instability will affect Israel’s security in the future.

    If you live in Israel today you have to be concerned that Egypt will take the same course that Iran took some 30 years ago. Once the radical Islamic leadership took power in Iran their stated purpose was to insure that Israel found her destruction.

    A turning from being friendly towards Israel to that of an enemy of Israel is one of the possible outcomes of the current uprising in Egypt. When the dust settles will the new government of Egypt maintain a non aggressive position towards Israel? How many other Arab nations will join the uprising and form new governments hostile towards Israel as a result of Egypt’s revolution?

    This morning the King of Jordan announced a complete reorganization of his government. King Abdullah has so far been a neutral Arab nation having been placed by God at Israel’s close Eastern border. Similar moves are occurring in many other Arab nations as a result of the people of Egypt revolutionizing their country.

    The neutrality of Jordan and Egypt in the past was one of the primary factors that have contributed to the safety and security of Israel. The United States has paid billions of dollars every year to these friendly Arab nations to insure their cooperation in Israel’s security.

    From a prophetic view, when the battle of Ezekiel 38 and 39 begins, two of the Arab nations that are not mentioned as coming to attack Israel are Jordan and Egypt. Jordan is mentioned as the single place of safety for the Jews fleeing Israel during the reign of the antichrist. In the book of Isaiah God requests that Jordan shelter His “outcasts from the hand of the spoiler…”

    Isaiah 16:4 “Let My outcasts dwell with you, O Moab; Be a shelter to them from the face of the spoiler…”

    Beginning at the mid-way point of the Great Tribulation, the Jews in Israel will have the veil removed that currently covers their eyes and prevents them from seeing that Jesus is their Messiah. When the antichrist announces that he is God and that all the world should worship him, the Jews will flee Israel for Petra in the nearby nation of Jordan. It is there in Jordan that the antichrist is forbidden by God to capture that nation or do any harm to the Jews being sheltered there.

    Egypt Threatens Gaza With New War

    Egypt has told Hamas that Israel might launch a Gaza war to curb rocket attacks, a warning that led the group to urge other militant factions to cease fire, sources familiar with Egypt-Hamas contacts said on Wednesday.

    “Egypt has told Hamas the Gaza situation was similar to that before December 2008,” said one source, referring to the start of the three-week war Israel waged in the Hamas-run enclave with the declared aim of halting cross-border rocket strikes.

    “Hamas does not want a new escalation unless it is forced into it,” the source said.

    A Palestinian official said Egypt and another Arab country, which he declined to identify, had discussed the issue with Hamas. Hamas officials declined to comment.

    On Sunday, Hamas said it had made contact with other factions to urge them to recommit to an agreement they reached two years ago to stop rocket and mortar bomb fire.

    In recent weeks, Palestinian militants have stepped up attacks along the Gaza border, drawing Israeli strikes that killed 13 Palestinians, most of them gunmen, in December.

    An Israeli army spokeswoman said at least 20 rockets and mortar bombs have landed in Israel since the start of 2011.

    Saleh Zidan, a senior leader of the Palestinian Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), told Reuters top Egyptian security officials he met in Cairo on Tuesday made their concerns known about a new Israeli offensive.

    Israel Strikes Gaza With Warplanes

    GAZA CITY, Palestinian Territories (AFP) — Israeli warplanes renewed their air strikes in the Gaza Strip, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned of the consequences if Palestinian rocket fire continued.

    The first air strikes on the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis killed a militant of the Islamic Jihad and wounded another man, Palestinian sources said.

    The Israeli military confirmed the attack, saying it had targeted a member of Islamic Jihad who “was involved in planning a massive terrorist attack in the heart of Israel.”

    “This operation disrupts the execution of the attack by Islamic Jihad,” an Israeli army spokeswoman said.

    “That organisation has been involved in the firing of rockets towards Israeli territory and IDF forces (army) in the past few days,” she added.

    Adham Abu Selmiya, spokesman for the Hamas-run health services in the Gaza Strip, named the dead man as 25-year-old Mohammed Jamil al-Najar.

    The Al-Quds Brigade, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad militant group, said Najar was a member and pledged revenge for the attack.

    Later raids hit three sites used by Hamas security south of Gaza City and also a training base of the Islamic Jihad group in Khan Yunis, but caused no further casualties, Hamas officials and eyewitnesses said early Wednesday.

    President Obama is making plans to create and Internet identity for American. Howard Schmidt, the White House coordinator for Cybersecurity said “It’s “the absolute perfect spot in the U.S. government” to centralize efforts toward creating an “identity ecosystem” for the Internet”

    This new department of the Obama administration will be first to address the issue of Internet identity, even before the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland security.

    Obama’s new “National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace” will be drafted and released by this summer. Schmidt said: “We are not talking about a national ID card,” Locke said at the Stanford event. “We are not talking about a government-controlled system. What we are talking about is enhancing online security and privacy, and reducing and perhaps even eliminating the need to memorize a dozen passwords, through creation and use of more trusted digital identities.”

    It is possible that a Smart Card or some type of Digital Signature Certificate will be issued to willing participants that will identify a person during financial transactions or other Internet business.

    The Government promises that no centralized database will be kept of the information voluntarily given by those who sign up for the new digital signature. As if the government has ever kept any of your personal information private.

    Whatever the new Digital Signature becomes, it is for certain that this type of technology will be a part of the new world order brought by the one referred to in the Bible as “The Beast”.

    Signs of Jesus Return: Earthquake Rocks Israel

    The book of Zechariah describes the fact that when Jesus returns to earth at the end of the seven year Tribulation Period, it will be at the mount of Olives just outside Jerusalem.

    Zechariah 14:4 “And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south.”

    At the moment that Jesus feet touch the soil of the mount of olives, the earth will fracture and split into two pieces moving north and south.

    Scientists have discovered that one of the largest tectonic plate faults on the earth is in this area of the Jordan valley. Many years ago a large hotel had planned to build a resort on the mount of olives. After an extensive study of the site it was discovered that there was a large fracture in the earth running right through the middle of the mount of olives. Plans to build this new resort were discontinued indefinitely.

    On Saturday a moderate earthquake measuring 4.o on the Richter scale shook the northern portion of the Jordan valley causing many Israeli’s who live in that area to panic. It was only a mild earthquake and did little damage, this time.     U.K. to Remove Porn From the Internet

    THE UK Government is to combat the early sexualization of children by blocking internet pornography unless parents request it, it was revealed today.

    The move is intended to ensure that children are not exposed to sex as a routine by-product of the internet. It follows warnings about the hidden damage being done to children by sex sites.

    The biggest broadband providers, including BT, Virgin Media and TalkTalk, are being called to a meeting next month by Ed Vaizey, the communications minister, and will be asked to change how pornography gets into homes.

    Instead of using parental controls to stop access to pornography – so-called “opting out” – the tap will be turned off at source. Adults will then have to “opt in.” The new initiative is in advance of the imminent convergence of the internet and television on one large screen in the living room.

    It follows the success of an operation by most British internet service providers (ISPs) to prevent people inadvertently viewing child porn websites. Ministers want companies to use similar technology to shut out adult pornography from children. Pornography sites will be blocked at source unless people specifically ask to view them.
