    Prophecy: God Proves His Existence Through His Son

    An amazing fact is that nowhere in the Bible does God seek to prove to us that He exists.

    In the 1st chapter of Romans, the Holy Spirit tells us why:

    Romans 1:19-20 …because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.

    First; God created each human being with an inner awareness that He exists (“what may be known of God is manifest in them” Romans 1:19). The evidence of this is universally seen all over the earth. Human beings have a desire to worship. They will worship many and various gods, objects, passions, and pleasures, even self. There is no other explanation for why all people have a desire to direct their affections so fervently towards something, except that God created us with a desire to worship. God made us for Himself, and it is through our worship of Him that we find our joy and satisfaction. Not until we truly begin to worship the one true God, will we find inner peace and contentment. People spend their entire life trying to fill up the emptiness they feel inside with everything they can. Only when a person comes into a personal relationship with God, through His Son Jesus Christ, is that emptiness fully and completely filled.

    “He Is Risen, He Is Not Here”

    In 1846 dr. Simon Greenleaf wrote a 3 volume work called A treatise on the laws of evidence.

    This work is considered to be one of the single most important authorities on the legal procedure for handling and examining evidence in a court of law.

    Dr. Greenleaf examined the historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ to see if the internal evidence of the scriptures about Jesus death and resurrection were true or false.

    The results are contained in a book that Dr. Greenleaf wrote called An examination of the testimony of the four evangelist by the rules of evidence administered in the courts of justice.

    Dr. Greenleaf came to the striking conclusion that according to the same rules that are used in a court of law to examine evidence, there is more evidence for the historical resurrection of Jesus Christ than any other event in all of human history.

    I suggested on an earlier page that considerations of time played a peculiar and decisive part in determining the events that immediately preceded the death of Christ. If we wish to get at the real truth about this matter we must study it with our eyes, as it were, constantly upon the clock. Particularly is this the case when we approach two very important elements in the case: The dealings that the Jewish leaders had with judas and later with Pontius Pilate.

    Both these men played a strange and, at first sight, an inexplicable role in the happenings of those twelve hours that closed the earthly life of Christ. Let us begin by considering the case of Judas.

    It is almost impossible to imagine anything more fortunate from a purely historical point of view than the fact that, just at the moment when Christianity was taking the measure of its adversaries, there chanced to come to Jerusalem a young man, who, judged even by high modem standards, can claim to be a very competent and almost impartial observer.

    The name of this young man was Saul. He was a Hebrew of very careful upbringing, intensely zealous in the performance of his religious duties, but with a mind broadened by contact with the wider life and speculative thinking of the Greco-Roman world. He was acquainted with at least some of the writings of Aratus, of Epimenides, and of Menander, as his later speeches show. And he hailed from Tarsus, in Cilicia. The year was about AD. 34.

    If we are to gain a teal insight into the events immediately following the death of Christ we shall have to begin by studying carefully the situation as it probably existed about four o’clock on Friday afternoon.

    Hitherto we have approached this subject almost exclusively from the official and priestly point of view. That point of view was extremely important in the earlier stages of the case. The prosecution was the priests’, and it was vital to our purpose to know what lay behind it. But with the achievement of their main object, these official representatives of Jewry recede temporarily into the background and a new group of people takes their place. It is with this group the personal friends and adherents of Jesus-that we shall be chiefly concerned in the next two or three chapters. Let us begin by considering who these people were, and what the documents tell us with regard to them.

    If we exclude Mary and Martha of Bethany, and their brother Lazarus, who, for certain reasons that we shall discuss later, are not heard of in connection with the final tragedy, we are left with a group of sixteen persons, all of whom are known to have belonged to the inner circle of Christ’s personal supporters:

    If anyone thinks that in approaching the trial of Jesus of Nazareth by Pontius Pilate he is approaching the simple and the obvious he is making a big miscalculation.

    This thing is extremely subtle: Outwardly, it has all the placidity of still waters, but beneath the apparent stillness there are deep and hidden currents that make it incomparably the greatest and most profoundly interesting psychological study in history. We do not get rid of the mystery of Christ when we bring Him to the Roman bar; we increase it tenfold.

    The first hint that there is something curious about this story that is not directly disclosed by the narratives comes, strangely enough, not from the behavior of the Jews, or even of the Prisoner Himself, but from the behavior of Pilate. I remember reading through the four accounts side by side, not once but many times, trying to discover what it was that subconsciously stamped the story of this trial as peculiar. And every time I read them the conviction grew that the hidden and disturbing element lay in what, for want of a better phrase, I must call the unsatisfactory alignment of Pilate’s behavior, as uniformly reported in the Gospels, with his known character and antecedents.

    I remember this aspect of the question coming home to me one morning with new and unexpected force. I tried to picture to myself what would happen if some two thousand years hence a great controversy should arise about one who was the center of a criminal trial, say, in 1922. By that time most of the essential documents would have passed into oblivion. An old faded cutting of The Times or Telegraph, or perhaps some tattered fragment of a legal book describing the case, might have survived to reach the collection of an antiquary. From these and other fragments the necessary conclusions would have to be drawn. Is it not certain that people living in that far-off day, and desiring to get at the real truth about the man concerned, would go first to the crucial question of the charge on which he was arraigned? They would say: “What was all the trouble about? What did his accusers say and bring against him?” If, as in the present instance, several charges appear to have been preferred, they would ask what was the real case against the prisoner.

    1. The Book That Refused To Be Written

    I suppose that most writers will confess to having hidden away somewhere in the secret recesses of their most private drawer the first rough draft of a book that, for one reason or another, will never see the light of day.

    Usually it is Time — that hoary offender — who has placed his veto on the promised task. The rough outline is drawn up in a moment of enthusiasm and exalted vision; it is worked on for a time and then it is put aside to await that leisured “tomorrow” that so often never comes. Other and more pressing duties assert themselves; engagements and responsibilities multiply; and the treasured draft sinks farther and deeper into its ultimate hiding place. So the years go by, until one day the writer awakens to the knowledge that, whatever other achievements may be his, this particular book will never be written.

    Evidence of the Rapture from the First Century

    A recent archaeological discovery dated from the first century, confirms that those in the early church believed in the resurrection of Jesus Christ as well as their own future resurrection from the dead, if they would trust Christ.

    Officially labeled as NCE 156 and written in the Greek language on stone, the text of the inscription reveals the Biblical belief in a “Bridal Chamber” awaiting those who die in Christ. The promise given by Jesus at our death, or that we should be alive when He comes for His church, is that we will be His Bride.

    John 3:29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled.

    1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

    The idea of a Bridal chamber came from an old testament verse that describes a time of indignation or wrath occurring on the earth, while those who trust in the Savior as His Bride, will be hidden in that chamber until the indignation has passed.

    Isaiah 26:19-21 Your dead shall live; Together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust; For your dew is like the dew of herbs, And the earth shall cast out the dead. Come, my people, enter your chambers, And shut your doors behind you; Hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, Until the indignation is past. For behold, the LORD comes out of His place To punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; The earth will also disclose her blood, And will no more cover her slain.

    Three Days in the Grave, Forever Lord of All

    1 Peter 3:18-20 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.

    The first thing that Jesus did after he was Crucified, was descend into Hell and preach to those who died during the flood of Noah.

    Peter reminds us that only eight people believed the Lord at the time Noah was building the ark for 100 years. When the time came to enter the Ark and be sheltered from God’s judgment, only the members of Noah’s family actually believed God and went into the Ark.

    It has been estimated by mathematicians, that at the time the flood of Noah occurred, there could have conservatively been over six billion people on the earth. Computing the explosion of population that occurred from the creation of Adam, to the time of Noah, people were living up to nine hundred plus years.

    What is ‘The Second Death’?

    What is ‘The Second Death’?

    At the Cross, Jesus paid for the sins of every person who has ever, or ever will live upon the earth. The high value of Jesus life as Creator and Eternal God of the universe, was sufficient to pay the debt that every person owed to God for their sins.

    These that find themselves before the Great White Throne are there because they chose to not believe in Jesus sacrifice for their sins and will now have to give an account to God as to why they did not accept His Son’s sacrifice as the payment for their sins. The final verdict for every person that stands before the Great White Throne will be to be found guilty of their sin and be sentenced to eternity in the Lake of Fire. This is what the Bible calls: “The Second Death”.

    Remember, these persons were born once, died, went to the Great White Throne, were found guilty, sentenced to eternal death, then cast alive into the Lake of fire where they died a second time to last eternally. They were “Born Once”, they will “Die Twice”.

    Christian Doctor Raises Man From The Dead

    It wasn’t logical, the doctor thought. The man had suffered a massive heart attack and died 40 minutes ago. Even his skin had started to turn black. But the feeling wouldn’t go away, Dr. Chauncey W. Crandall reports in his new book, “Raising the Dead: A Doctor Encounters the Miraculous,” and he felt compelled to return to the emergency room where the body of auto mechanic Jeff Markin rested.

    Crandall already had finished up the paperwork reporting on Markin’s demise and had been headed out of the room. “Before I crossed its threshold, however, I sensed God was telling me to turn around and pray for the patient,” he reports.

    It was Oct. 20, 2006, at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, and Crandall said he felt God telling him to give Markin one more shock with a defibrillator. He gave the order, and Markin’s heart monitor immediately registered a steady heartbeat. Markin remains alive and well today.

    Crandall is chief of the cardiovascular transplant program at the Palm Beach Cardiovascular Clinic in Palm Beach Gardens and is on staff at Good Samaritan Medical Center and Jupiter Medical Center. He has lectured nationally on topics including heart transplantation, preventive cardiology, healing and cardiology health care of the elderly.

    I personally believe that the reason that many people did not recognize Jesus after His resurrection, was that His form was drastically altered by the scars from His beating and crucifixion. On the road to Emmaus, the disciples did not know that it was Jesus who had been walking along with them until they stopped to eat and Jesus reached out and handed them bread to eat. It must have been at that moment that they saw the scars on His wrists where the nails had penetrated Him.
    Luke 24:13-15 Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem. And they talked together of all these things which had happened. So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them.

    “Such a promise is one of life’s great blessings,” the president continued. “As I am continually learning, we are, each of us, imperfect. Each of us errs, by accident or designs. Each of us falls short of how we ought to live. Selfishness and pride are vices that afflict us all.”

    I saw plenty of dead bodies as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune, but I’ve never seen anyone come back to life. That was the stuff of mythology and legend. After all, we live in a scientific age. Belief in a resurrection was simply untenable.

    At least, that’s what I thought until I checked the facts for myself. Using my legal training, I investigated the most audacious claim of history: that Jesus of Nazareth returned from the dead and thus authenticated his claim to being the Son of God.

    Just as Christmas for many has become less about the miracle of the virgin birth, Easter may be losing its connection to the resurrection.
    Fewer than half of Americans mentioned Jesus’ death and resurrection when asked about the significance of Easter, according to a survey released last month by Christian researchers the Barna Group.
    At the same time, the National Retail Federation reports we’ll spend more than $13 billion on the holiday for food, clothes, candy and greeting cards.
    Although the holiday is meant to be the central celebration of the church, disassociating Easter from the biblical narrative of the resurrection or seeing it in symbolic terms makes Christianity “safer” for con-temporary churchgoers, some local Christian leaders say.“
    “Jesus is very challenging. To encounter him is existentially challenging. It can be scary and uncomfortable,” said Jeremy Wilkins, assistant professor of systematic theology at St. Mary’s Seminary in Houston. “There is a strong pressure in our culture to reinterpret (the resurrection) or explain it or not to deal with it as the mighty and miraculous thing that it was.”

    A Quantum Hologram of Christ’s Resurrection?

    The Shroud of Turin is arguably the single most studied artifact in human history. It is a piece of ancient linen measuring 14 feet 3 inches long by 3 feet 7 inches wide. The bloodstained surface of the Shroud is marked with a negative image of the undistorted front and back sides of a naked man who appears to have been severely beaten and crucified—an ancient Roman form of torture and execution.

    For centuries, based on the Gospel accounts, many Christians have believed that Christ’s body was wrapped in the Shroud when He was placed in a borrowed tomb in Jerusalem 2000 years ago.

    In 2004, Dame Piczek became fascinated by the total absence of distortion of the Shroud image, a physical impossibility if the body had been lying on solid rock. Piczek’s work strongly suggests that the image of Jesus was projected as a quantum hologram onto the cloth as His body underwent the process of Resurrection.

    The origin of Easter dates back to ancient times, not long after the global Flood recorded in Genesis 6-9 of the Bible. Nimrod, a grandson of Noah, had turned from following his grandfather’s God and had become a tyrannical ruler. According to the biblical record, as king, Nimrod created Babel, Ninevah, Asshur, Calla and other cities, all known for lifestyles that promoted unspeakable evil and perversion. When Nimrod died, his wife, Queen Semiramis, deified him as the Sun-god, or Life Giver. Later he would become known as Baal, and those who followed the religion Semiramis created in his name would be called Baal worshippers. They became associated with idolatry, demon worship, human sacrifice and other practices regarded as evil.
