1st U.S. President Inspired by Jesus, 44th by Ghandhi

At the beginning, America’s founders and the framers of our Constitution found their inspiration and direction from the Bible and Jesus Christ. It is a fact of history that most of the men who sought to give all Americans liberty and justice, did so because they believed that these rights came to all men as a gift from God.

As 234 years have now passed, we have observed a progressive move by our presidents, to distance themselves from this heritage and look for their inspiration from secular and more humanistic leaders.

In an article today from The Times of India, U.S. President Barack Obama publically stated that much of his inspiration came from the Hindu leader Mahatma Ghandhi. No matter what a person may admire about Ghandhi, one should remember that the Hindu religion worships literally 330,000 different Gods. They believe that man is reincarnated to be born over and over upon the earth until he finally get’s his life right.

The Bible on the other hand declares that there is only One God who made all things and that this One God said Himself that there are no other”Gods” except Him.

Isaiah 45:5 I am the LORD, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me.

When Paul wrote in the New Testament of the fact that human beings will worship almost anything else, if they do not worship the God of the Bible, he said that all the other “So Called God’s”, are really just demons masquerading as God.

1 Corinthians 8:4-6 … there is no other God but one. For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.

1 Corinthians 10:19-20 What am I saying then? That an idol is anything, or what is offered to idols is anything? Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons.

All of the other relgions of the world who worship their “so-called gods”, the Bible declares that these “gods” are actually demonic beings pretending to be these various deities. It has always been the desire of Lucifer, and later as satan, to receive worship as “A God”.

The Bible is clear that there is really only One God who has reveled Himself as The Father, The Son, And the Holy Spirit. Not three God’s, but One God with three distinct and separate persons.

At the beginning of our country, men understood that Jesus is the Creator God of the Universe and they gave respect, honor and worship to Him alone. They looked to the Lord for their wisdom and guidance in making all of the decisions that they needed to make in order to guide the new land called America onto the right paths.

Today our president takes his inspiration from a man who worshipped the false gods of hinduism and their thousands of demonically inspired, and so called deities. One wonders what kind of inspiration and guidance a person can receive when it comes from a demonically inspired source?

It should be prevalent upon all Americans to pray for our President, that He would turn only to the God of the Bible for his inspiration and guidance so that all Americans can be the beneficiaries of this unparalleled wisdom. It is for certain that if we continue to look to sources other than the God who gave us this great land and the privileges of freedom that we all enjoy, our continued dishonor of the Lord will bring an end to His long suffering patience and Grace upon our land.

The following is a wonderful article from “hubpages.com”as wells as today’s article from The Times of India that details President Obama’s statement regarding Ghandhi:

The father of our nation was quiet about his Christian faith. But there can be no doubt his faith in our Lord Jesus Christ was deep and heartfelt. In his first general order to his troops, General George Washington called on …

Every officer and man…to live, and act, as becomes a Christian Soldier defending the dearest rights and liberties of his country.

On May 14, 1787, George Washington warned the delegates to the Constitutional Convention:

If to please the people, we offer what we ourselves disapprove, how can we afterward defend our work? Let us raise a standard to which the wise and the honest can repair; the event is in the Hand of God!

President George Washington, on April 30, 1789, delivered his famous Inaugural Address to both Houses of Congress. He had just taken the oath of office on the balcony of Federal Hall in New York City, with his hand upon a Bible opened to Deuteronomy, Chapter 28:

Such being the impressions under which I have, in obedience to the public summons, repaired to the present station, it would be peculiarly improper to omit, in this first official act, my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being who rules over the universe, who presides in the councils of nations and whose providential aides can supply every human defect; that His benediction may consecrate to the liberties and happiness of the people of the United States a government instituted by themselves for these essential purposes; and may enable every instrument employed in its administration to execute with success, the functions allotted to his charge.

In tendering this homage to the Great Author of every public and private good, I assure myself that it expresses your sentiments not less than my own; nor those of my fellow citizens at large, less than either.

No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the Invisible Hand which conducts the affairs of men more than the people of the United States. Every step by which they have advanced to the character of an independent nation seems to have been distinguished by some token of providential agency.

And in the important revolution just accomplished, in the system of their United government, the tranquil deliberations and voluntary consent of so many distinct communities, from which the event has resulted, can not be compared with the means by which most governments have been established, without some return of pious gratitude, along with an humble anticipation of the future blessings which the past seem to presage …

We ought to be no less persuaded that the propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained; and since the preservation of the sacred fire of liberty and the destiny of the republican model of government are justly considered as deeply, perhaps finally, staked on the experiment…

President George Washington, on October 3, 1789, from the City of New York, proclaimed a National Day of Thanksgiving:

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor…

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the twenty-sixth day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these Unites States…that we then may all unite unto him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed…

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions…to promote the knowledge and practice of the true religion and virtue…

Given under my hand, at the City of New York, the 3rd of October, A.D. 1789.

George Washington wrote about what he felt made America great:

It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.

It is impossible to account for the creation of the universe, without the agency of a Supreme Being. It is impossible to govern the universe without the aid of a Supreme Being. It is impossible to reason without arriving at a Supreme Being.

Religion is as necessary to reason, as reason is to religion. The one cannot exist without the other. A reasoning being would lose his reason in attempting to account for the great phenomena of nature, had he not a Supreme Being to refer to.

Today’s article from The Times of India

NEW DELHI: US President Barack Obama paid fulsome tribute on Monday to Mahatma Gandhi and said studying the legacy of India’s independence icon had helped propel him to the White House.

In an address to the Indian parliament as he wrapped up a three-day visit, Obama described the personal impact of Gandhi’s teachings of non-violence and equality on his political career.

“Throughout my life, including my work as a young man on behalf of the urban poor, I have always found inspiration in the life of Gandhiji and in his simple and profound lesson to be the change we seek in the world,” he said. (Read: Text of President Barack Obama’s address to India’s parliament)

“I am mindful that I might not be standing before you today, as president of the United States, had it not been for Gandhi and the message he shared with America and the world,” he added.

The president has often cited Gandhi as a key influence. He name-checked him in his Nobel peace prize acceptance speech and kept a portrait of Gandhi on the wall of his US Senate office.

Obama said he had been “honoured” to visit on Saturday the house where Gandhi used to stay on his trips to Mumbai, and on Monday he and his wife Michelle paid their respects at Rajghat — the Gandhi memorial in New Delhi.

“We will always remember the great soul who changed the world with his message of peace, tolerance, of love,” Obama wrote in the visitors’ book.

“More than 60 years after his passing, his light continues to inspire the world.”
