Daily Walk: Trust In The Lord With All Of Your Heart

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Trust is at the foundation of every meaningful relationship. Without trust there can be no lasting bond or shared intimacy with anyone. At the beginning of our relationship with God is the question that He asks us over and over again:

Do you trust me?”

As we go through deep valleys and desolate deserts, the Lord is aware of where we are and what we need to endure our trouble. If we will look to Him instead of everything going on around us, He will deliver us and make a way out.

All He asks is that we make up our mind whether or not we are going to trust Him. Remember that in every generation that came before you, the Lord has a proven track record of faithfulness and Mercy.

He is able and He does care, but He cannot work His greatest wonders in our life when we do not trust Him.

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart… Not a half-hearted, shallow reliance, but an all or nothing attitude that says; “My God is able to deliver me and He shall.”

So often we look to our own understanding of a particular situation. We make decisions based on what we can see or think we know. The promise of God is that if we will just acknowledge Him in everything, that He will direct our path.

When David was in the midst of his trial with King Saul, there was not a single place where David felt peace. At every turn there was the possibility that Saul would find David and kill him. It was not until the end of his trial that David could look back and see that the Lord had been with Him and had protected him at every turn. At the conclusion of David’s ordeal, he wrote the words of 2 Samuel chapter 22:

2 Samuel 22:1-3 Then David spoke to the LORD the words of this song, on the day when the LORD had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul.

And he said: “The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Savior”

Writing in retrospect, David could look back and see that the Lord was with him the entire time that he was in his trial. The Lord had never left him and had in fact taken excellent care of David, even though his life was in such difficulty and despair.

In your walk with the Lord today, remember that He is with you through all of your struggles and difficulties. He will never leave you or forsake you . At the conclusion of the trial, you will look back just as David had, and see the faithfulness of the Lord.

Determine to trust Him now, at the place you find yourself today. Remember that when it is all over, you are going to be delivered and you will see with your own eyes, how great your God is.

2Samuel 22:31 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.
