Daily Walk: Remember, You Have a Savior

Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

Most of us are aware of our own sin. No one has to tell us we are sinners, we know it and the constant failures of our life are never far from our thoughts.

Despite Adam and Eve having a perfect environment and possessing everything that they needed for life and happiness, satan was able to persuade them that they were missing out on something. The idea that God would hold back something that appeared to be so wonderful, a knowledge of good and evil, was more than the first couple could resist.

Long before God made the decision to create man, He already knew that Adam was going to sin. In the counsels of heaven, Jesus stepped forward and offered Himself as the Savior for man even before man was created. Jesus is spoken of in the Bible as being “The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

God is not disappointed when He sees your sin. He is God. He already knows every one of your sins. He is not angry with you when you make the same mistakes over and over again. All that He requires is that you acknowledge that you have sinned and bring your honest confession to Him and be willing to not sin again. When you do, He is faithful to forgive you and to erase every trace of your sin from your record.

Knowing the faithfulness and amazing love of God towards the sinner, it should encourage us to come quickly to Him as soon as we fail. Understanding that God knows our frame and that we are made from dust. He always has compassion on us and eagerly desires to remove the guilt that we feel when we sin.

The first prophecy in the Bible is Genesis 3:15. Immediately after Man sinned, God revealed to him that the seed of a woman would bring a Savior who would be Jesus Christ. Jesus would “Bruise the head” of satan, defeating him once and for all. Jesus’ death and resurrection took away the power of death and the guilt that sins bring. You do not have to live in guilt any longer.

Next time you sin, don’t hesitate a single minute. Bring your failures to God who delights in being your Savior and understands your fallen human nature. The Love of God towards the sinner is immense and it is never ending.

Remember, you have a Savior and He loves you.
