Hebrews 1:1-2 “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds.“
After Moses had spent many wonderful and amazing days with the Lord, he made one very special request: “Lord show me your glory”.
It was Moses’ desire that he would be allowed to see God for who He really was. To look into His face, see the words come from His mouth, gaze deep into the Eyes of the Eternal God. Moses had heard his voice many times, he had many conversations with the Lord, but he longed for more. “Lord I just want to see you…”
When Phillip came to Jesus one day he said: “Lord show us the Father and it will be enough for us…” You can imagine in your mind, Jesus looking up at Phillip, then down at the ground, shaking His head from side to side in disbelief. Then Jesus said something to Phillip that has delighted me since the first time I read it on the pages of my Bible.
Jesus said to Phillip: “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father…”
If you want to know what God thinks about you, listen to the words of Jesus. If you want to know what God is like, spend time reading in the scriptures the things that Jesus has done. If you want to see the Face of God, behold Him hanging on a Roman Cross with His lifeblood pouring out on the ground… All For You!
The only way to really see the face of God is to behold the face of Jesus. In Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead in a human body. In times past God spoke through the Law and the Prophets, but in these last days, He has spoken to us through His own dear Son.
He is speaking to you everyday. In every microsecond of your daily life, the events of your day, the difficulties and the successes. Not one thing will happen to you today that Jesus has not been there beforehand and worked all the details out for you.
If there is a delay, He is in that delay. If there is an obstacle, there is a purpose for the obstacle. If you are in pain, He is there with you in the pain, showing you His faithfulness.
Not one thing that He Brings you to, can He not help you go through.
This is your great God who is right there in front of you. Open your eyes and see Him face to face as you rise to meet your new day.
As you whisper the words; “Lord show me who you are today”, you will begin to see Him in ways that you never imagined possible. For all those who see the Lord do so because they strive to see Him. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. He reveals Himself to all those who search for Him with all of their heart.
