I was perusing my iPad version of USA Today when I came across an article by Jerry A. Coyne, Professor in the department of Ecology and Evolution at the University of Chicago. Professor Coyne has a website called “whyevevolutionistrue.com
I am always amazed that someone is able in this day and age is able to achieve the status of “Professor” in the field of Evolution, much less be invitee to write a column in USA Today.
For one thing, Evolution is still “A Theory” and has never been proven to be scientifically correct. Some of the greatest minds in the world today are distancing themselves from the theory of evolution as it’s flaws and problems emerge and are more widely known every year. A man has to be of “Great Faith” to even believe that such a fairy tale could be true since there is not one shred of empirical evidence to substantiate evolution other than the fantasies of men who are looking for excuses for not believing in the God who made all things.
Professor Coyne is an articulate and seemingly intelligent man who was obviously invited to write yesterday’s article in the USA Today edition because he seems to be an intelligent man. I wish that people who listen to the teachers of evolution would do their own unbiased homework instead of taking the word of those who have an obvious agenda to keep God out of all scientific discussions.
From Professor Coyn’s perspective, science and the Bible are incompatible, but of course he would say that since he does not want to believe that God created man or this universe. When a man begins with an incorrect theory, such as there is no God, then he is further self decieved to also believe other incorrect theories
I wanted to lay out a few basic ideas for why theories like evolution and the non existence of God are incorrect. This is of course only a basic course and there are really unlimited further data on why evolution is a lie and creation is the truth. You will have to take this small article as a beginning and do your own research. Don’t take mine or Professor Coyne’s word for it, find out for yourself.
Number one: The lack of belief in God is inconsistent with the vast majority of human beings on earth.
All people since the beginning of time have had an inner sense that God exists. Universally in virtually every society that has existed, man has worshipped “a god”. Even in cultures that have been completely shut off from all contact with the outside world, when finally discovered, theses societies were found to be worshipping their god or gods. This is because upon the creation of man, God hardwired a knowledge of Himself in man. Much like a computer has a BIOS system that tells it who it is and what it is supposed to do when it is first turned on, God hardwired His most intelligent creation to know in their Basic Operating system, that they were created and that God exists.
This is why throughout the Bible the scriptures proclaims that “It is the fool who says in his heart their is no God” (Psalm 14:1; 53:1). It is foolish and self deceiving to deny what is intrinsically already known in the heart. If a person is logically thinking correctly, they realize that an incredibly intricate, skillful and communicative living creature could only have been created by an all-intelligent Creator. It is completely irrational to believe that a man evolved from a lower life form into the highest form of life in the universe.
It is sin that causes a person to deny that God exists and is the fatal flaw of many a man who thinks himself very wise and highly evolved when in fact he has denied the most logical and rational conclusion for the existence of man. As a person acknowledges this inner awareness that God does exist and they seek to gain further knowledge of this intelligent being who made them, this Creator then in turn takes steps to further reveal Himself to that person. No place in the Bible does God seek to convince man that He exists and He sees no rational reason to poke His head through the clouds and say “Hey I’m God and you’re not, so believe in me.” God created us with an awareness of Himself and He knows that all men know He exists. This will be the basis for His judgement at the end of the age, that men knew He existed because they were hardwired with a knowledge of Him, so they are without excuse.
Second: Creation bears witness of the fact that God exists.
The Bible proclaims that “God’s eternal power and nature can be clearly seen in the things that He has made” (Romans 1:20) Every created thing in the universe gives evidence that God exists and displays His power and character. Every known thing in the universe has a cause. It is therefore reasonable that the universe itself had a first cause and that first cause was an unimaginable intelligence who was their self uncaused and eternal. If God does exists then his existence cannot possibly be known or understood by man. A being such as one who has the power to create such a magnificent universe would have to be beyond the comprehension of His creation. What would make Him God, was that His power and intelligence were themselves also limitless and unsearchable.
When a person examines the Universe they find that there is harmony, order and design. Even in the violent eruptions, explosions and collisions seen in the universe, there is a seeming purpose and beauty before and behind each act of violence and collision. This design that is clearly seen throughout the universe argues with the intelligence of man that all we can see was made and is controlled by an intelligence unfathomable to the mind of man. Since the Universe appears to be designed with a purpose, there logically must be an intelligence behind it’s existence and design.
Look at your own arm, perhaps on that arm is a wristwatch. Intelligently designed, intricate and functioning with some degree of precision, no one would logically think that it just happened by chance or evolved over time. Yet beneath that watch, inside the arm of the person wearing the watch is a vastly greater and more complex system than anything else in the universe. It is preposterous and illogical to think that the man who is vastly more complex than the watch he wears, happened by chance or evolved over time.
Anything that is greater than the thing made, cannot be imagined or fully understood. Even throughout all eternity, man will never exhaust or fully know all that can be known of God. It will be a constant challenge and enlightenment of our intelligence to learn and grow in our knowledge of God and who He is.
Third: Man has a universal awareness within himself of right and wrong and an understanding of what justice is.
When a person sees someone behaving in a way that does not please him, he is not just claiming that that behavior does not please himself, he is saying that there is a standard of behavior that is universally known and should be expected. The one scolded understand that there is this standard that is expected and does not argue that it is correct, but simply that they do not wish to conform to the standard. He makes an excuse for why he should be able to do this thing, while all the while knowing in his own being that his behavior is wrong. This law of right and wrong is known by all men and is a part of the nature of all human beings. This is a characteristic that is not common to all other animals or organic things. It is known by the smallest child from their birth as evidence that children know how to lie from the inception of their life and will deny wrong doing while all the while their guilt is completely apparent on their face and in their actions.
Where did this moral law and awareness of right and wrong come from? Even in societies that are not religious, even amongst our atheists friends, they admit there is a law of right an wrong. Some would argue that certain societies in history had completely different moral laws than our present society. There are differences in societies, but the fact is, the basic structure of right and wrong is the same for all people for all time. From the most ancient culture to the present, universally man has an internal law and awareness that certain things are not right and some sense of what things are right and just. Is there any society that admires cowardice? Is there any record of any culture who cultivates and admires betrayal?
If you find a person who says they do not believe that this basic premise of right and wrong is true, a few minutes later he will agree with you. He might break his promise that he has made to you and be perfectly okay with that. But let you just break your promise to him and see if he is not upset and cries “unfair”. Every day of the week, we all fail to practice the same kinds of behavior we expect from other people. As soon as someone walks up to us and tells us that we are not doing something that we should be doing, we begin to express a list of excuses for why we are not doing these things. Where did this all come from?
All of these are inherent, internal proofs that a “Law is working within all of us”. We did not learn it, but it was already present within us when we were born. All human beings all over the earth, for all of time, have this idea that other human beings should act in a certain way, and that when we see this law violated or broken, something inside of us tell us it is wrong.
The same power that created and maintains this great universe, placed a knowledge of right and wrong, the moral law, inside each one of us.
Fourth: The theory of evolution is unproven and has several fatal flaws.
Evolution does not work, has not worked and cannot be observed to work. No scientist has ever observed an species becoming or even in the process of becoming another species. We see changes within species occurring everyday but no one has ever seen a dog become a cat or an ape become a man. No transitional species have ever been validated in any of the fossil record or geologic record of all species found on the earth.
Science has advance today to the point where the cumulative results of the study of the cell shows that all life is really based upon machines. Molecular machines that bring cargo from one cell to another along highways that are made of other molecules. Other molecules act as cables, ropes and pulleys to hold a particular cell into it’s shape. These machines turn cellular switches on and off and sometimes even kill the cell or cause it to cease to grow.
Solar powered machines capture sunlight and store the energy of photons in the form of chemicals. Electric machines provide for the flow of current through the nerves and Manufacturing machines build other molecular machines. These highly complex and sophisticated molecular machines control every process in at the cellular level. Today we know and understand that all of life is finely calibrated and enormously complex. This highly advanced system of complex machines could not have possibly occurred through random chance or mutation but were made fully functioning or they would never have come into being at all.
If you will do your own research today on the theory of evolution, you will find under the subject of how molecular machines could have evolved, which are the basis for all life, you will see that evolutionary theory is stoically silent. Evolutionists have no explanation for how the molecular machines found in cells could have evolved. If the cells of all of life could not have evolved, then evolution is a lie and is very, very bad science.
Yet today, evolution is taught in colleges and universities all across America as if it is true and credible science, when it is not. Evolution has been so widely distributed throughout society that it has been “assumed” to be the truth. If something is said enough times, it becomes true in the minds of those who have not themselves explored the truth and ramifications of that speech.
Do your own homework and explore the theory or evolution and you will find upon intelligent examination that it is full of flaws, impossible, and extemely bad science.
