Men and women debate the theory of Evolution, verses the creation of the universe by an almighty, wise and wonderful God. The Bible ignores the subject of trying to prove the existence of God, for to do so, it claims is “Foolishness”, since the evidence of His existence is all around us in the things that He has made.
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse…
The geologic record contains not one shred of evidence that any intermediary species in some evolutionary process, ever became a different species. Yet the astronomical record does reveal that the conditions to which all the Galaxies in the universe were formed, were made under fluctuations in the ratio of temperature to matter that were “perfect” and “just right” for life to exist. If fluctuations in these ratios of temperature to matter were too large, the universe would consist of massive black holes. If the fluctuations were too small, there would never have been the formation of a single star. Scientists call this phenomenon the “Goldilocks Condition”. Someone created this perfect balance between matter and temperature, to make life possible, not just on the Earth, but in the entire Universe, so that the Earth would contain an environment suited for human beings, once they were created and placed here.
God created every man and woman with an internal knowledge that He exists. He placed that knowledge of Himself and of eternity in the heart of man, so that man could have the ability to know who God is. In God’s ultimate evolutionary process, He desires that man find Him, the source of his life and purpose for life, and be “Born Again” a second time, spiritually.
The Bible describes this process of going from a lower life form, into a higher life form, “Becoming a New Creation”.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
To answer the question as to whether the Bible teaches that evolution is true, the answer is an absolute “yes”. In fact, Jesus said that unless a man is “Born a second time”, he cannot see the kingdom of heaven.
John 3:3-6 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
We once were “Dead in our trespasses and sins, but through Jesus Christ, we are born again into a brand new life.
Ephesians 2:1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins…
Ephesians 2:5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)
Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses
The purpose of each life here on earth, is that every man, woman, boy, and girl, would hear of this spiritual evolutionary process, and be able to experience it personally.
Atheists and Agnostics are constantly telling us that they do not believe that God exists because there is “no proof”. The truth is that there is no proof that He does not exist. All the evidence that surrounds us on the Earth, and throughout the Universe, is that everything was created by an extraordinary, intelligent being. To deny the existence of God would be like looking at an automobile and claiming that it just appeared one day on the street by an act of evolutionary process. No one would believe that an automobile happened by chance, yet a exponentially more complex human being is said to have come into existence by blind chance. These people of so called “no faith” have in my estimation “great faith”. To believe in a fairy tale such as evolution, requires more faith than it took for me to simply look at all that is around me and come to the logical conclusion that someone of extreme intelligence and power made all that I can see.
These are the “reasons” that Atheists and Agnostics use to deny the existence of God, but the reality is that they are not valid reasons at all, simply “excuses”. To acknowledge that an all powerful God does exist, would require and acknowledgment that we are accountable to Him for our actions. That would require an acknowledgment that our actions are often wrong, and people do not like to be told that they are wrong.
The real reason that people will not come clean and acknowledge the existence of God is, that they love their sin and do not want to change their behavior. Even more important, is that they do not really believe, or so they say, their actions constitute “sin” anyway. To the scoffer, sin is non-existent, a fantasy made up by religious zealots to bring fear into the masses so that they might be subdued by the authority of religion. The Bible cuts through all the excuses and simply states that the reason men will not acknowledge, love, and serve God, is because they love their sin.
John 3:19-20 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
The ultimate evolutionary process is to be “born again” into a new creation as described by the Bible, where all the guilt, anger, unforgiveness, and inability to truly love people, is changed in a single moment.
To call on the name of Jesus in true trust towards Him as the Savior of your sins, is to begin the journey from darkness, into light. To go from being completely lost, to becoming totally found and redeemed, is to be forever ridden of all guilt anger, fear and turmoil. These things can never be removed by the continual remaining in a denial of God and His claim on your life. It is in acknowledging what is known in the heart to be true, and a surrender of your life to God, that a person is finally set free and finds the purpose for their being alive.
