During a discussion on the Amazon Kindle Web Site for Christians, the following question was asked of me, the following is my concise answer.
“Can you prove to us that the Bible is the true and inerrant Word of God, and not a collection of mythology taken from other cultures and times, written by men who were attempting to understand something beyond their capability for the most part.”
Answer yes we can!
How? by predictive Prophecy.
The Bible is unique in that it contains approximately 3,500 predictive prophecies of which to the present date, 2,500 of these have literally been fulfilled as stated in the scripture.
The mathematical odds of any document being able to predict 2,500 events in the detail and clarity that the Bible has predicted these events, is beyond the possibility of chance.
If you took just eight of the Prophecies that Jesus fulfilled of the three hundred Old Testament predictions in His first coming, events that He had no control over such as where He was born, how He would die, things that people would say about Him upon his crucifixion. Then compute the mathematical probability that any one person in all of history could fulfill just eight of the three hundred, the number is 10 to the 17th power. That is a 10 with 17 zeros behind it.
To give you an idea how big this number is: the evolutionist have computed that the estimated number in their evolution of the universe is 10 to the 17th power seconds.
There is no other document in all history that had predicted and fulfilled with precision, events spoken of hundreds or thousands of years in advance, like the Bible.
God held out to us the fact that because what He said in the Bible can be measured by whether or not the things He said came true, this would be proof that it was His word and we could trust it.
At best when man tries to predict the future, such as Nostradamus, the success rate will always be about 50/50. The Bible has a one hundred percent accuracy record. I have made this my life’s work to study and verify these prophecies and it has never been found that even one prediction made in the Bible has failed.
