Did you know that nowhere in the Bible does God seeks to prove that He exists, why is that?
Because God takes it for granted that you already know that he exists. He knows that you know that He does exist because he placed this knowledge of Himself inside you
Romans 1:18-21 For the truth about God is known to them instinctively. God has put this knowledge in their hearts. From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God. Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. NLT
The earth itself, the stars, planets and galaxies, all speak of an intricate and detailed design.
If you have an intricate and detailed design then it stands to reason that you also have an intelligent and detailed designer.
Romans chapter one says that the creator has proven his existence by the things that he has made.
He desired that as you understood the complexities of your own body and the immense beauty and complexity of the universe, that you would know that He exists.

And yet despite all of the overwhelming evidence for a creator by the overwhelming evidence of His creation, Romans chapter 1 verse 21 says that many people will still not acknowledge Him as the creator or even thank Him for the life that He has given.
Someday the entire world will see the creator face to face and he will hold men accountable for the internal knowledge that He placed within every man that God does exist. No one will be able to say “Gee Lord I just didn’t know that you existed.” He will show them that place inside of their heart where the knowledge was placed when He created them so that they will be without excuse.
For the truly honest skeptic, is there any other evidence for the existence of a creator?
What if the one that created everything placed in our hands a document that has His words, His thoughts, what He is like, how He feels, what He thinks of us and a document that reveals to us who He is.
How would we be able to validate this document to prove that it was really from the creator?.
If such a document existed, it would have to be able to prove that it had knowledge from outside of time. That its internal structure could be demonstrated to show that it was of supernatural origin.
I want to submit to you that the Compilation of Books that we call the Bible, is that document.
Beginning in the old testament, the Bible claims that there is one that exists from “everlasting to everlasting”. This is a very polite way of saying that God is eternal, not a created being, not having a beginning or ending. He just exists, always has, always will.
1 Chronicles 16:36 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel From everlasting to everlasting.
Psalms 93:1-2 The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The LORD is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved. Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting.
The Bible describes this eternal one from everlasting to everlasting, as entering human history to become one of us at Bethlehem.
Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.”
The New Testament claims that this eternal one that came to Bethlehem is the one that spoke the Universe into existence and is himself the one that holds all things together.
Colossians 1:15-17 JESUS is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before God made anything at all and is supreme over all creation. JESUS is the one through whom God created everything in heaven and earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see–kings, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities. Everything has been created through him and for him. JESUS existed before everything else began, and he holds all creation together.
If there is a creator and if He has the technology and intelligence to create us and this immense Universe that we live in, then it stands to reason that He would also have the technology and intelligence to get a message to us that he does exist, in a written form.
The Bible claims to be that message system whereby the Creator makes Himself know to us. The Bible claims that the Creator revealed Himself to us by becoming one of us in a physical human body.
The Bible claims that the way that the creator proves that he is Creator is by revealing accurate and detailed knowledge of the physical universe, long before man had any knowledge of these facts himself.
Many people do not realize that the Bible is full of specific and accurate statements about the laws of physics. Laws such as the nature of our Solar System, the nature of the Earth, and the nature of the life forms on the Earth.
These statements in the Bible describing the nature of Earth, Nature and the Earth were written hundreds, even thousands of years before there was sufficient scientific knowledge by human beings to know any of these things.
The Bible demonstrates that it is a document from outside of the time domain by speaking of events in advance of their occurrence as if they had already happened. The Bible proves that it is from outside of our dimension of time because it predicts history in advance.
The bible is actually a total of 66 books written by 40 different writers, over more than 1,500 years yet it is assembled as a single supernatural, integrated message system about just one subject, the redemption of man back to the God who created man.
Every name, every number, every place, every letter, even the punctuation marks and spaces between the words are there by God’s specific design.
In this study we will look at just a few of those internal evidences that are in the Bible and prove that these things were written by the creator, thousands of years before man had discovered them.
In the first verse of the Bible Genesis teaches that there is time, space, and matter. This knowledge could have come only by a supernatural being outside of Earth.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning (TIME) God created the heavens (SPACE) and the earth.(MATTER)
Notice that the Holy Spirit places Time, Space, and Matter in the exact order that they should be in. A seemingly insignificant fact, but one very important if we were seeking to prove that God is the author of the Bible.
During the period of time that the Bible was being written there were no telescopes to determine the number of stars in the universe. The total number of stars that could be seen with the naked eye during the time that Genesis was written was no more than 3-4,000.
And yet in the book of Jeremiah, the Lord said this:
Jeremiah 33:22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered…
If man during the time that Genesis was being written could only see about 4,000 stars, then why did Jeremiah write that the number of the stars “Cannot be numbered?” Though man’s knowledge was limited during this time, the God who is the author of the Bible knew how many stars there were because He created them and He knew that man would not have the ability to count them all.
Today scientist estimate that there are at least 100 billion stars just in our Milky Way galaxy. The estimated number of Galaxies like the Milky Way are more than 100 billion. Each of these 100 billion galaxies also have within them more than 100 billion stars! This would mean that the current estimated number of stars in the Universe is in excess of 70 Sextillion.
If you began counting today at the rate of ten stars per second, it would take you 100 trillion years to count the estimated total number of stars in existence. And yet the Bible says that God not only made each one of these, but also gave each one of them an individual name.
Psalms 147:4 He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.
A second amazing fact that the Bible has revealed long before man knew of this knowledge, is that 3,000 years ago the writer of Psalm 19 wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, that the sun follows a “circuit” or circular pattern through the universe.
Psalms 19:4-6 He has set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoices like a strong man to run its race. Its rising is from one end of heaven, And its circuit to the other end; And there is nothing hidden from its heat.
Today by use of our current powerful telescopes we know that the Sun is part of an enormous spiral galaxy called “The Milky Way”. The Sun does in fact move in “a circuit” or circular course through the universe at speeds of more than 600,000 miles per hour.
The Milky Way galaxy itself that we live in, is flying through space at an estimated speed of over 2 million miles per hour.
How did the Psalmist know this 3,000 years ago? He didn’t of course, but the Lord of the Universe knew and He told the writer of Psalm 19 to record these facts for us. This truth is again another internal evidence in the Bible for who the author of the Bible is, God.
Christopher Columbus has been given credit for the discovery that the earth is a sphere through his voyage to north America in 1492.
The Greek mathematician “Pythagoras” proposed that the earth was a “sphere” 600 years before Jesus was born.
The Greek philosopher “Hipparchus” wrote 200 years before Jesus was born, as well as “Aristotle” that the earth was really “a sphere.”
300 years before Jesus was born the actual first proof that the earth was a sphere was given by “Erastosthenes” who measured the circumference of the earth.
And yet over 2,800 years before any of these gave their evidence, the prophet Isaiah wrote this under the direction of the Holy Spirit:
Isaiah 40:22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. NKJV
The original Hebrew word that Isaiah used for “Circle” in verse 22 is “Khug”, which can also be translated in Hebrew, the word “Sphere”.
How could Isaiah write that the earth was a “circle or sphere”, unless the Lord had revealed this knowledge to him? This Lord who reveals these facts about the Universe is the One who made the Universe.
For much of the Earth’s early habitation by man, he believed that the earth rested upon “Atlas” or “Hercules”. The Hindus said that the earth sat upon an Elephant or Turtle.
The concept that the earth could float freely in empty space was a completely unrealistic idea to all ancient societies. And yet in the oldest book of the Bible, written from 2,400 to 2,600 years ago, Job provides an incredible piece of advanced scientific knowledge about what the earth is suspended upon.
Job 26:7 He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing.
There was no scientific basis for Job to have this kind of knowledge 2,600 years ago. It is impossible that any man could have known that the earth was suspended in space by gravity. Yet the Book of Job is full of just such scientific facts, unknown to man during this time in history.
A relatively recent discovery during man’s history on the earth is the structure of the Atom. All matter in the universe is made up of invisible materials consisting of “Protons”, “Neutrons” and “Electrons”.
Contained within these tiny parts of an Atom even smaller, invisible parts called “Quarks”, “Pions”, and “Gluons”.
All of these microscopic parts of the Atom are invisible to the naked eye. Yet there is one verse in the New Testament that reveals the construction of the Atom, the building block of the universe, almost 2,000 years before any scientist discovered the Atom.
Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
If the bible was written solely by man, then how could man who had very limited knowledge of these kinds of scientific facts when they were being written in the Bible, know these things and record them in the Scriptures? There is no other piece of ancient literature that can boast of this sort of scientific knowledge before that knowledge was known by man other than the Bible.
This is precisely the point that I am seeking to illustrate in this study. That man in and of himself, did not know these things, but the God who made all these things told man and ordered that man should record this in a compilations of 66 books called today; “The Bible”.
Man is not the author of the Bible, he was simply the instrument that God used to write it. Every word, every letter, even the punctuation marks and the spaces between the words were inspired and given by the Holy Spirit.
It is a fact of the basic structure of matter that “Any particle that is smaller than a wavelength of light will be invisible to the human eye”. Because the Atom and its components are much smaller that the wavelength of light they are invisible to our eyes, even though they are what make up everything that exists in the universe.
Because the Author of the Bible is the same author of all creation, He has revealed these secret things to us in the Word of God so that we might know that He is God, and that the Bible is His Word.
This is what the book of Colossians declares about Jesus, that He is in fact the Creator:

Jesus is the one that created all of the Atoms and their mysterious power within. He is the one spoken of here in Colossians that “Holds it all together”.
It is a little know fact that everything in the Universe has a natural tendency towards coming apart, or destruction. Inside the Atomic structure of everything in the Universe is an unseen force that is repelling against itself, seeking to come apart.
Each atom has what is called “Positive charges” within it’s structure. This can be demonstrated by trying to place the positive sides of two magnets together. What happens? The positive side of the magnet “repel each other” when they are placed close together. This positive repelling force is the same process that is happening inside every atom of everything in the universe.
This begs the question then: “If every Atom in the universe is trying to repel itself why don’t all Atom’s just come apart and all collapse?” This is actually a very good question.
During a Thermonuclear explosion an outside force is introduced into radioactive material such as plutonium. Upon the explosion of TNT, the Atoms within the plutonium collide with each other and release all of their positive charges within each Atom.
The great vacuum created by the release of this energy bound up in the Atom and subsequent explosion that happens when a nuclear bomb goes off, is a demonstration of what all Atoms in the universe wants to do “come apart” and explode
So, what is holding all of this massive power contained within the Atoms of everything in the Universe together?
Colossians 1: JESUS is the one through whom God created everything in heaven and earth. JESUS made the things we can see and the things we can’t see…INCLUDING THE ATOM JESUS existed before everything else began, and he holds all creation together. NLT
Jesus is that awesome power that holds every Atom in the universe together and keeps them from coming apart. But one day very soon something is going to happen…
2 Peter 3:10-11 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
Clearly, this verse is speaking of the time after the rapture of the church has occurred, after the 1,000 year millennium has been finished, after the great white throne judgment. Revelation chapter 21 describes the final event that will occur after these events:
Revelation 21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared…NLT
“The old earth and the old heaven have disappeared” where did they go?
Remember what Peter said in 2 Peter 3: “The heavens will pas away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with a fervent heat…”
The Greek word that the Holy Spirit used here in 2 Peter 3 to describe this “Great Noise”, is the “Rhoizedon” (hroyd-zay-don’); literally “A horrendous ear numbing crash”
This is the only place in the Bible where the Holy Spirit uses this word for the sound that will be heard when the universe collapses upon itself.
As Jesus takes his hand off of the atoms that the universe is made of, all of those positive charges within every Atom will be released. The earth and the heavens will just collapse and “Melt with a fervent heat.” One great supernatural Atomic blast.
What is interesting about Peter’s observation of this massive nuclear explosion, is that 1900 years ago when these things were written, man had very limited knowledge of the basic elements of the universe.
The Greeks said that the basic elements of the universe were Fire, Water and the Earth.
How then can the Bible describe the invisible properties of the Atom, and the reaction that an Atom will have when its subatomic structure is disturbed, thousands of years before these principles were discovered? Perhaps we should pay closer attention to this book The Bible!
Listen to this vivid description in the Book of Revelation where John describes what he saw when the 6th seal was opened in chapter six by jesus during the Great Tribulation Period.
Revelation 6:12-14 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.
Have you ever seen what happens to the sky when a thermonuclear blast happens?
The initial chain reaction that causes the release of energy in the Atoms of the Plutonium only lasts about one millionth of a second. As vast amounts of heated energy are released, this all happens within a very small space. This causes the temperature of the super-heated blast to be in the range of about one millions of degrees Fahrenheit. The result of this super heated air trying to escape, causes the air around the blast to collapse upon itself. When this happens, it looks as if the atmosphere near the blast is “rolling itself up like a scroll”.
This is exactly what John said he saw in the future, as he described this event in the book of Revelation.
Revelation 6: 14 Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up.
How could John have knowledge of a thermonuclear detonation when this technology was not even possible at that point in history? Of course John didn’t know, in fact if you read Johns description it is clear that he didn’t understand what he was seeing or writing about.
The Bible describes numerous physical properties of the earth, before man ever discovered them. How is this possible? It could only be possible if the one giving the information about these properties of the Earth and the Universe were the same one who created them.
The creator of all things placed this information in the Bible so that when you read it you would realize that man could not have known any of these things by himself. The logical conclusion is that they were revealed by the God who made them. The entire point of placing this information in the Bible was so that you would understand that the Bible is the Word of God.
In 1855 a man by the name of Matthew Fontaine Maury (1860-1873) published a book regarding his discovery of the currents within the oceans of the world.
He said that if ships would use these “passageways in the seas” they could greatly increase their speed through which they traveled from land to land across the oceans. Today Maury is referred to as “The father of Oceanography” and “the pathfinder of the seas”.
Today we understand that there are in fact ocean currents that act as rivers through the seas. Once a ship is placed within these “paths in the sea” they are moved along at a much greater pace, using less fuel and time.
What is truly amazing is that 2,800 years before Maury’s publication, the Book of Psalms makes a reference to “the paths of the seas”.
Psalms 8:8 … the fish of the sea That pass through the paths of the seas.
800 years before Jesus arrived on Earth, the prophet Isaiah wrote:
Isaiah 43:1 Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters…
At the time that Isaiah wrote these words there were no known paths through the seas. In fact the only know seas at that time were the Mediterranean, the Red sea, the Sea of Galilee and the Dead sea, none of which had paths in them.
The Bible again demonstrating knowledge of scientific information that man had no ability to know at the time theses things were recorded in the Bible. This clearly demonstrates that all this information came from outside of our time domain. The Lord speaks of physical properties that the earth has thousands of years before we discovered them.
Almost 300 years ago the French scientist Pierre Parrault and Edme Mariotte found evidence for the hydrological cycle of evaporation of the seas and delivery of the moisture by rain that continually waters the earth.
Today we call this “The Hydrologic Cycle” and is the basic fundamental for understanding the weather patterns upon the earth. And yet almost 4,000 years before this discovery by Parrault and Mariotte, the book of Job, which is perhaps the oldest book in the Bible, says this:
Job 36:27-28 For He draws up drops of water, Which distill as rain from the mist, Which the clouds drop down And pour abundantly on man.
A clear description of the hydrologic cycle of the earth found in the Word of God, thousands of years before man’s discovery
Even Solomon wrote over 3,000 years ago in the Book of Ecclesiastes:
Ecclesiastes 1:6-7 The wind goes toward the south, And turns around to the north; The wind whirls about continually, And comes again on its circuit. All the rivers run into the sea, Yet the sea is not full; To the place from which the rivers come, There they return again.
Finally, in the first book of the Bible, the Book of Genesis chapter 17: The sign that confirmed Abraham had believed the story he was told regarding the coming of Jesus as the Savior of all men was that Abraham was to circumcise his son on the eight day.
Most people read this story and pass over it rather quickly without much thought of what is actually occurring here.
This is story is truly amazing when you consider that up until and about the 7th day of a babies life they do not have the element of vitamin K in their system that aides in the coagulation of blood so that the baby does not bleed to death when they are cut.
About the 8th day, a babies body begins to manufacture vitamin K. The presence of this element in the baby’s blood stream is very important so that when a baby boy is circumcised there would be no danger of excessive bleeding.
Today as soon as a baby is born they give that child a shot of vitamin K. Within hours the child has the capacity to coagulate blood.
There is no way that man had the capacity to know about the qualities of vitamin k not being manufactured in the body of a baby on or about the eighth day of their life. Yet the Lord knew this because He makes every little baby boy and He know when this important element will be present in the body of a baby. This is why the Lord told Moses to circumcise a child on his eighth day, not before.
Jesus said this of the details of the Bible:
Matthew 5:17-18 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
This is an amazing statement because the “Jot and the Tittle” are the smallest members of the written Hebrew text. The jot called the “Yod’s” in the Hebrew language are the little dashes above the words that indicate an emphasis of that word.
The Tittle’s are the little hooks that you see on some of the letters of the Hebrew words. They are designed to help differentiate one letter from another.
What was jesus saying then? That not only are the actual words that are in the Bible the Word of God, even the underlying details hidden within the text are the Word of God.
The purpose of the good news about Jesus is that God has done everything that is necessary to give you the forgiveness of sin and eternal life. This information is so simple that it can be understood by anyone.
The Bible declares that Jesus is God, He created you and He loves you. All men are separated from God because of their sin, and are presently under his condemnation.
Jesus did not come to the earth to condemn us, He came to rescue us and take the punishment that we deserved for our own sins. When any person believes in the fact that they are forgiven by the sacrifice of Jesus Life, all of their sins are removed as if they never existed and they are saved eternally.
But let us not say that just because the Gospel about Jesus is so easy to understand that everything in the Bible will be open and easy to understand. Jesus gave us an indication that there are “Things Hidden” in the scripture that take searching out and study to uncover, but they can be known.
This phenomenon of hidden wisdom in the Bible is just the kind of thing that we would expect to find if the Bible was a supernatural document.
As you devote yourself to know the Lord more and more until all your heart is set upon knowing Him, you will be given greater and greater revelation of Him and what is hidden in His Book, the Bible.
