One of the more controversial subjects in the Bible is that of whether the Bible or Jesus Himself claimed to be God. The following is a short note on this subject with a lengthier discussion to follow later.

Some specific examples where the Greek word “Theos” (God) is applied to Jesus;
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God (Theos)
John 1:18 “No one has ever seen God, the only God, who is at the Father’s right side, He has made Him known”
John 20:28 Thomas answered and Him, My Lord and my God” (Theos)
Romans 9:5 of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. (Theos) Amen.
Titus 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God (Theos) and Savior Jesus Christ,
Hebrews 1:8 But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God,(Theos) is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
2 Peter 1:1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God (Theos)
and Savior Jesus Christ:
When Paul writes in Colossians chapter 1:
Colossians 1:16 For by Jesus all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
And You compare that with Genesis 1:1
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Since All things were made by Jesus, and He is God, then it is logical to deduce that the one speaking the Universe into existence in Genesis 1:1 is Jesus.
What an Amazing Savior we Serve!
