Prophecy: Earth Will be Struck by a Giant Asteroid

As we examine the world today. Increases in violence, and the prevalence of evil all over the face of the earth, we understand that the return of Jesus for His church at the event called “the Rapture”, cannot be far off. When the Rapture takes place, the world will begin the events described in the Book of Revelation, chapter 6, “The Tribulation Period.” Beginning at Revelation chapter 6, the opening of the first “seal” by Jesus, commences a seven year peace instituted by someone who appears to be like Jesus, but will instead be the “antichrist” coming as a false “Savior”. He is described by chapter 6, verse 1 as riding on a white horse similar to the description of Jesus in Revelation chapter 19, when He returns to earth.

At the opening of the second seal, the temporary peace that the antichrist has brought, is interrupted at the middle of the seven years, by war. The Third seal reveals the results of a massive global war; a shortage of food. The Fourth seal reveals global death from the war that has ensued. The fifth seal reveals the murder of those who receive Jesus as their Savior during this time. The sixth seal begins a description that sounds like a massive onslaught of Asteroids making contact with the earth.

Prophecy: “The End of All Flesh is Before Me”

When every new day brings news of a shooting or some other act of violence, we wonder when it will all end. It seems as though the world has become sick and there is no cure. All around us there is so much pain and suffering, it feels like the world we live in is a dark planet in some distant corner of the universe, not our home.

There was a time when the earth also became dark and evil and the people of our planet were far from God. The Bible records that there was one man and his family who were righteous, amongst the entire population of earth, Noah.

God told Noah that the end of all flesh was before Him. The earth was filled with violence and the wickedness of man was great on the earth. The Lord instructed Noah to prepare himself and his family for a judgement that was coming. He and his family alone, would be preserved through the darkness of what was coming upon the earth.

  • Prophecy: America Will Repeat Israel’s Greatest Error

Prophecy: America Will Repeat Israel’s Greatest Error

It was because of this gradual decline in the obedience of the people of Israel, forgetting the Lord’s “precepts and judgments”, that God allowed Nebuchadnezzar to siege their city and take captive their people.

If we believe that the United States of America was called by God to be a special nation above all other nations, for the purpose of displaying His great power, love, and grace, can we as a nation avoid a similar fate if we turn away from God?

If God did not spare Israel the invasion of a pagan nation and the total destruction and loss of everything they held dear, can we escape, if we follow the very same path they took?

It is no secret that America is not the same country that it was in former days. We have become a social welfare nation. A dwelling place for the execution of the unborn for convenience. We have seen over the course of the past 40 years, the degradation of the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman, and the allowance of sexual sin; men with men, and women with women. Our government spends vastly more than it takes in with a current massive increase in the national debt of well over 16 Trillion dollars.

  • The Final Kingdom of this World

The Final Kingdom of this World

Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”

News every morning reminds us that this present world cannot continue under it’s current path for much longer. Global financial crisis, sin abounding, the hearts of many growing cold. Man is not getting better, more sophisticated and refined, he is increasingly becoming a debased creature with all restraint being cast off. As with many kingdoms before those presently on the earth, who by their inability to keep social morality controlled, gradually degraded themselves to the point where the were subdued. Not by any foreign enemy who crossed their borders with an invading army, but from within, by the collapse of social morals. If a proper examination is made of all great nations who enjoyed world-wide influence and power, it was by the acceptance of social sins such as homosexuality, abortion, and the normalcy of sexual perversion, that brought these nations to their knees.

  • If December 21, 2012 is The End of the World, Are You Ready?

If December 21, 2012 is The End of the World, Are You Ready?

It is just one day before the world is supposed to end, according to some not-so-experts. Survival gear, Ready-to-Eat meals, guns and ammunition are selling at a brisk pace. Many people are taking the threat of Earth’s end seriously.

Scientists say that there is no chance that the world will end tomorrow. Theologians postulate that there is no indication in the Bible that December 21, 2012 is the end of the world.

I have written extensively on the subject, and I am certain that there are no Biblical prophecies that define 12-21-2012 as the final day of the existence of life on earth.

The Bible does say that the end of the world will come at a specific time, and it actually tells us the precise moment that the end of the world will occur. First Jesus will return to the earth in an event called “The Rapture”. This will happen quickly, violently, and without any warning. Suddenly, perhaps a Billion people will disappear from the earth and be seen no more.

The Bible describes the Rapture with these words:

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Verse 18 encourages those who understand the meaning of these words, to find “comfort” in them. If we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior, and are awaiting His return, then these words can bring us great comfort. If on the other hand, we have not committed our life to Jesus Christ, then the thought of a Billion people suddenly vanishing from the face of the earth is very frightening.

  • The Cure For Gun Violence

    The Cure For Gun Violence

After a tragedy such as the mass murder of 2o children at Sandy Hook school in Newtown Connecticut, the discussion over banning automatic weapons inevitably comes up. For some people who do not understand the nature of gun violence, they often blame the availability of certain weapons, or all guns, for the violence that often results from people killing others with firearms.

Outlawing certain guns, or all guns, would not stop a person who is seeking to kill another with a firearm. There are currently over 320 million licensed firearms in the United States. Even if we banned the sale of all new weapons tomorrow, how are we going to control the 320 million guns that are already legally owned?

The old adage “guns don’t kill people, people kill people”, is absolutely true.

Studies have shown that in places where there are a high number of good citizens with firearms for their personal protection, the incidents of gun violence by bad people, is very low.

  • Understanding Why God Permits Evil in the World

Understanding Why God Permits Evil in the World

As we wake to a morning of deep sorrow over the loss of so many beautiful children, and the parents who loved them deeply, we are faced with many questions. In moments of such tragedy, people often ask why, if there is a loving and merciful God, does He allow so much suffering in the world? Why doesn’t God stop all of the evil in the world? Why does He allow men like Adam Lanza to execute children in their classroom, who have their whole lives ahead of them?

We must remember that this is not the world that God originally created for us.

When God first made man, the earth and everything on it was perfect and beautiful. He created a world that was without evil and violence. A place where only love and beauty prevailed.

God made us with a personal ability to chose evil or good. We were made in the image of God, who has the power of self determination. With the privilege of choice comes responsibility for our actions. We can chose righteousness or sin. We can love or hate. We can kill or make peace. These are all choices that we make that not only affect us, but everyone around us.

  • An In-Depth Look at the Doctrine of the “Rapture”

An In-Depth Look at the Doctrine of the “Rapture”

A person not living in the daily expectation that Jesus could come at any moment, will become preoccupied with their own life and the things that are happening in this world. This mind set will cause the believer to do things that are contrary to the character of someone who is following Jesus. Finally, this lack of expectation will cause this person to be unaware when Jesus does come, and they will be caught by surprise when He returns.

The person who lives everyday in expectation that Jesus could come at any moment, will live a life that is constantly seeking to purify itself of things that are contrary to the Lord.

1 John 3:2-3 …when Jesus is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Jesus will reward the faithfulness of the person watching for His return with rulership over many cities and people during his one thousand year reign on the earth at the end of the seven year Tribulation.

Luke 19:17 And he said to him, “Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’

If upon His return, the Lord shall find a person who claims to believe in Him, but has lost the expectation of His soon return, and gone back into the world to live as non believer, He will “I will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.” (Luke 12:46 above)

How important is it that we continually teach the doctrine of “The Rapture of the Church?” According to Jesus, is one of the most important doctrines that we MUST continually study, meditate on, and continue to look forward to.

One of the points that critics of the Rapture claim, is that “The Rapture is not taught in the Bible”. When I hear someone say this, I am always amazed. I know that they didn’t come to this conclusion by reading and studying the Bible themselves. This opinion came by what they heard someone else say or teach. If we simply read the Bible we will come away with the conviction that Jesus will return for His church at a time just prior to the beginning of the seven year Tribulation.

  • December 21, 2012, The End is Near…

    December 21, 2012, The End is Near…

If you are planning on stockpiling food and water for the predicted end of the world on December 21, don’t. One thing is for certain, a pagan culture does not know when the end will come. The Bible has predicted with one hundred percent accuracy, over 2,500 prophecies that have already come to pass, exactly as written. What other book or publication in the history of the world can compare to this record? None.

The end of the world is vividly described in the book of Revelation as coming after the return of Jesus to the earth, at the end of His 1,000-year reign as King of the earth.

The next event prophetically, is the Rapture of the church. It is possible that the Rapture may occur on December 21, 2012, for no one really knows the “day or the hour” that Jesus will return for His church. All we know is that His return is imminent and can happen at any moment. Only those who have surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will be taken from the Earth, this is Jesus’ promise to us who love Him.

  • Was Jesus Born on December 25th?

Was Jesus Born on December 25th?

The Christmas season is a wonderful time of year for those who love Jesus and the fact that He came to earth to offer His life for all of us. Most people do not know the true facts concerning the arrival of Jesus to earth because the story of Jesus birth has been changed by the traditions of men over the course of years.

In this brief study we will explore the facts concerning Jesus birth and look at the evidence from a Biblical perspective.

The gospel of Luke gives us the best account of Jesus birth, so we will start here and move through the other verses of scripture that deal with the event of Jesus birth.

Luke 2:8-20 “Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.”

This verse in the book of Luke reveals information that may ruin your current view of Christmas. We learn from just this single verse that Jesus was not born during the winter month of December. In just a few minutes you will see why.

    The Pre-Wrath Rapture

    The Pre-Wrath Rapture

One of the discussions of greatest frequency regarding Bible Prophecy, is that of “When will the Rapture of the Church occur”. Will it be before the 7 year Tribulation Period, in the middle of this time of wrath, or at the end just prior to Jesus physical return to the earth?

Let me say at the onset of this post that the doctrine of the Rapture of the Church, I consider that it is one of the most important foundational doctrines in the Bible. It is important in understanding correctly, the Grace of God, and His lack of will to punish with His wrath, His people along with the rest of the world.

Jesus death on the Cross not only accomplished salvation for all those who believe it, but also a removal of ALL future wrath from God. Make no mistake, the last three and one half years of the seven year tribulation period will be a total and complete outpouring of the Wrath of God upon the world in a way that this earth has not, not ever shall again ecperience. Jesus wrote that this wrath will be so severe that “If those days were not shortened (to three and one half years) No one would survive.

As we examine the text of the Old Testament, we will not find a single instance where the Lord ever poured out His wrath when His people were present.

Beginning with the Flood of Noah, the Lord removed the Gentile Enoch, who had been walking in fellowship with God for 300 years, just prior to the wrath of the great flood. Enoch as a Gentile, being a picture of the Gentile Bride of Jesus, that we believe will be removed from the earth before He begins the time of His wrath during the Great Tribulation.

The Rapture and the Hebrew Wedding

As I take you through the Ceremony for a Hebrew Marriage, you will want to pay special attention to the details. You will see that Jesus must have intended that His coming for us, would be exactly like the model of the Hebrew Marriage. He did this, so that we would understand how, why and when He is coming for us.

    Rosh Hashanah, and the Rapture

    Rosh Hashanah, and the Rapture

There are some skeptics of The Doctrine of the Rapture that say that this is not taught in the Bible. They do so while ignoring 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 and other key bible verses that clearly describe the removal of believers in Jesus Christ from the earth.

Paul is writing this letter to the church in Thessalonica, to believers in Jesus Christ, because a false doctrine had been circulating that said that Jesus had already returned the second time to the earth. The believers there were concerned that if Jesus had already returned, then what happened to their loved ones who had already died, where were they? Paul writes to tell them that Jesus has not returned yet, and when He does return, here is what will happen.

  • Signs of the Last Days: “Increase in Lawlessness”

Signs of the Last Days: “Increase in Lawlessness”

For those who watch the news daily for events that continue to indicate the soon arrival of Jesus Christ, this kind of behavior immediately captures our attention. The new testament is filled with verses of scripture warning of a marked increase in “lawlessness” as we approach the return of Jesus.

Matthew 24:3 Now as Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

Matthew 24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

“Lawlessness” is defined as: “people who are not governed by or obedient to laws.”

In the years immediately preceding the destruction of the earth in the days of Noah, lawlessness was increasing until it reached a pinnacle. At Sodom and Gomorrah, the behavior of the people in the community became so vile and evil in the lawlessness of those cities, that God destroyed everyone who lived there, except Lot and his family.

Signs of the Last Days: Scoffers of the “Rapture”

There are some today who claim that the Doctrine of the Rapture of the Church is not taught in the Bible. The proof that these skeptics offer is that the word “Rapture” is not found in the Bible.

Others critics of the event called the Rapture, claim that this doctrine was not known or taught in the early church, but became prominent only in the 1800′s.

Many other scoffers of the Rapture claim that the doctrine of the Rapture is “made up” and is a “false doctrine.”

Remember what satan told Eve? “Did God really say that if you eat of this fruit you will die?, You will not die…”

Today, thanks to the research of those who painstakingly translate ancient documents into the English language, such as the Grant Jeffrey organization, we have startling new evidence for the doctrine of the Rapture from the third century.

  • The Signs of Jesus Return

    The Signs of Jesus Return

The purpose of Bible prophecy is so that we might know that the Bible is not just another book penned by men, but a supernatural document with it’s source from outside time and space. The Bible is unique in that it makes predictions of the future with such detail and precision, that the slightest error would make any one of those prophecies unreliable. In over 2,500 Biblical prophecies, every single minute detail has been completed with precision and accuracy. The odds of any book being able to predict over 2,5o0 events in advance with 100 percent accuracy, is beyond the possibility of chance. The certainty of the fulfillment of these events already predicted and already fulfilled, gives confidence to the remaining 1,000 prophetic predictions that are yet to be fulfilled. If the Bible has been perfectly accurate so far, it is certain that the events spoken of describing the last days before Jesus returns, most certainly will also be fulfilled accurately. The following is a short list of some of those prophetic events already fulfilled, to be fulfilled and in the process of being fulfilled.

This article and the importance of the details of this article, are the reason that I started Bible Prophecy Update. So that you might realize that the Lord of the Universe has a plan that He has been unfolding for thousands of years, and that plan includes His desire to make Himself known to you. As you read, study and become familiar with the events of Bible prophecy, you will realize that the Lord is who He claims to be. That there is a God who is above all creation and who loves every human being equally and with great fervor. When we failed to be what He had created us to be and the defect of sin spread to all human kind, He took it upon Himself to become one of us, and give His life in exchange for all of ours. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on a Roman cross 2,000 years ago, paid the price all of us owed for our own individual and collective sins, forever. If you will place your complete trust in what Jesus has done for you at the Cross, and accept Jesus as your own Savior, you will be cleansed of your total sin and obtain eternal life.

When Jesus returns next, it will not be physically to the earth, but to the atmosphere above earth, from where He will call out of the earth all those who have already come into a personal relationship with Him and have accepted His sacrifice for their sins. (1 Thessalonians 4:17)

  • The End of All Flesh: The Rise of the New Age

The End of All Flesh: The Rise of the New Age

The Bible describes the timing of this event as being the beginning of a period of seven years of Tribulation. Daniel chapter 11, and 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, indicate that a new world ruler will appear on the scene that will bring peace and calm to a world shattered by news of the disappearance of so many.

According to New Age philosophy, this world leader will also appear on the earth during the last days. He is referred to as the “Maitreya”, who will announce himself as the “Christ”.

The Bible describes this coming leader who is hailed as the “savior”, as being a “false Christ”, or “antichrist”.

During the last seven years of the current age, the Bible describes this false Christ as drawing most of the world into the worship of him as their God.

According to the authors of New Age doctrine, those who have disappeared during the Rapture, will be those who would have rebelled against this new Christ. New Age leader Ruth Montgomery, describes their New Age belief that the Messiah cannot appear on the earth until these troublesome ones have been removed, so that the earth is prepared for his coming. Those who are removed will be sent to another planet where they will be reprogrammed in their thinking. apparently this answer will satisfy most of the world population and they will hail this new leaders as the answer to all of man’s problems.

It will be the rise and pinnacle of the New Age movement that will eventually lead to the removal of the true church and the beginning of the seven year tribulation. The world view of New Age philosophy is that the planet is being prepared for a coming Christ and the uniting of the whole world under one government, one financial system, and one religious system, headed by one man.
