• The Final Kingdom of this World

The Final Kingdom of this World

Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”

News every morning reminds us that this present world cannot continue under it’s current path for much longer. Global financial crisis, sin abounding, the hearts of many growing cold. Man is not getting better, more sophisticated and refined, he is increasingly becoming a debased creature with all restraint being cast off. As with many kingdoms before those presently on the earth, who by their inability to keep social morality controlled, gradually degraded themselves to the point where the were subdued. Not by any foreign enemy who crossed their borders with an invading army, but from within, by the collapse of social morals. If a proper examination is made of all great nations who enjoyed world-wide influence and power, it was by the acceptance of social sins such as homosexuality, abortion, and the normalcy of sexual perversion, that brought these nations to their knees.

  • If December 21, 2012 is The End of the World, Are You Ready?

If December 21, 2012 is The End of the World, Are You Ready?

It is just one day before the world is supposed to end, according to some not-so-experts. Survival gear, Ready-to-Eat meals, guns and ammunition are selling at a brisk pace. Many people are taking the threat of Earth’s end seriously.

Scientists say that there is no chance that the world will end tomorrow. Theologians postulate that there is no indication in the Bible that December 21, 2012 is the end of the world.

I have written extensively on the subject, and I am certain that there are no Biblical prophecies that define 12-21-2012 as the final day of the existence of life on earth.

The Bible does say that the end of the world will come at a specific time, and it actually tells us the precise moment that the end of the world will occur. First Jesus will return to the earth in an event called “The Rapture”. This will happen quickly, violently, and without any warning. Suddenly, perhaps a Billion people will disappear from the earth and be seen no more.

The Bible describes the Rapture with these words:

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Verse 18 encourages those who understand the meaning of these words, to find “comfort” in them. If we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior, and are awaiting His return, then these words can bring us great comfort. If on the other hand, we have not committed our life to Jesus Christ, then the thought of a Billion people suddenly vanishing from the face of the earth is very frightening.

  • An In-Depth Look at the Doctrine of the “Rapture”

An In-Depth Look at the Doctrine of the “Rapture”

A person not living in the daily expectation that Jesus could come at any moment, will become preoccupied with their own life and the things that are happening in this world. This mind set will cause the believer to do things that are contrary to the character of someone who is following Jesus. Finally, this lack of expectation will cause this person to be unaware when Jesus does come, and they will be caught by surprise when He returns.

The person who lives everyday in expectation that Jesus could come at any moment, will live a life that is constantly seeking to purify itself of things that are contrary to the Lord.

1 John 3:2-3 …when Jesus is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Jesus will reward the faithfulness of the person watching for His return with rulership over many cities and people during his one thousand year reign on the earth at the end of the seven year Tribulation.

Luke 19:17 And he said to him, “Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’

If upon His return, the Lord shall find a person who claims to believe in Him, but has lost the expectation of His soon return, and gone back into the world to live as non believer, He will “I will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.” (Luke 12:46 above)

How important is it that we continually teach the doctrine of “The Rapture of the Church?” According to Jesus, is one of the most important doctrines that we MUST continually study, meditate on, and continue to look forward to.

One of the points that critics of the Rapture claim, is that “The Rapture is not taught in the Bible”. When I hear someone say this, I am always amazed. I know that they didn’t come to this conclusion by reading and studying the Bible themselves. This opinion came by what they heard someone else say or teach. If we simply read the Bible we will come away with the conviction that Jesus will return for His church at a time just prior to the beginning of the seven year Tribulation.

    The Prophecy of Seventy Weeks

    The Prophecy of Seventy Weeks

“To Finish the Transgression” . All of the rebellion of mankind against God will finally be at an end. God will destroy the present earth and the heavens in a great heat death (2 Peter 3:1). He will create a new heavens and earth from which a new order, or government completely orchestrated by God, will continue forever (Revelation 21:1). This will all come about as a result of the Messiah’s return to earth at the end of the seven year Tribulation, being inaugurated as “King of kings”. He is the subject of all 365 of these Old Testament prophecies, and the entire Bible itself.

The Last Days: A Correct View of the Rapture

How important is it that we continually teach the doctrine of “The Rapture of the Church?” According to Jesus, is one of the most important doctrines that we MUST continually study, meditate on, and continue to look forward to.

One of the points that critics of the Rapture claim, is that “The Rapture is not taught in the Bible”. When I hear someone say this, I am always amazed. If we simply read the Bible we will come away with the conviction that Jesus will return for His church at a time just prior to the beginning of the seven year Tribulation.

The description of this event found in Paul’s epistle to the church at Thessalonica, is clear that the Lord will return for His church at time appointed by Him.

  • The Rapture of the Church and 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2

The Rapture of the Church and 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2

From the moment that I first learned the doctrine of the Rapture of the Church in 1975, there has been a deep controversy by those who claim that the Rapture will not occur until after the Tribulation has concluded.

One of the verses of Scripture that is used to prove this position is 2 Thessalonians chapter 2.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 “Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed…”

It should be clear from the context of 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 that Paul is addressing a concern that the Thessalonian church had regarding the coming of Jesus for the second time. There were some in this small church that felt that perhaps the Rapture had already taken place. This being the case, they questioned what had happened to their departed loved ones. Where were they and when would they be resurrected?

World Financial Markets in Collapse, Preparations for the Antichrist

On Wednesday, the United States stock market plummeted 389 point, or a 3.2% drop in value, after recent news of Europe’s financial crisis was announced. Italy, one of the largest economies in Europe, is also experiencing major debt problems, adding to the list of other European nations in major financial difficulties.

According to experts, Italy has a public debt of over 2.5 Trillion, or 120 percent of their Gross Domestic Product. There is wide spread fear that Italy will also not be able to meet their financial commitments. Greece, Ireland and Portugal have already experienced similar financial problems, thought their economies are much smaller.

Italy is a major player in the European economy because so many different banks hold’s their debt, and because their debt level is so high. All of the combined abilities of banks in Europe, do not have the capacity to bail out Italy from her debt pinnacle , making for a frightening scenario in the future.

2012 Peace Plan in Israel and U.N. Resolution 181 in Prophecy

In 1947 a historic resolution was recommended for the partitioning of Israel into two new states. The purpose of the proposal was to allow the Palestinian people to have their own state within the state of Israel.
That proposal was called Resolution 181, the 1947 Partition Plan.

In order for that resolution to be binding, both the Jews and the Arabs had to agree on the terms of that plan. The resolution was adopted on November 29, 1947 by a vote of 33-12 under the General Assembly of the United Nations.

The United States, Soviet Union, France, and Australia supported the resolution. Syria, Egypt Saudi Arabia and Iraq rejected resolution 181 with the threat of military action if it were to be implemented.

The purpose of the resolution was to provide statehood for the Jewish people and allow the Palestinian people to live alongside them in peace. Because the Arab states rejected this resolution and the need for Israel’s right to survive, the United Nations took further steps to effect peace in the region by the approval of Resolution 181.

Palm Sunday: A Day Chosen Out of Eternity.

Palm Sunday: A Day Chosen Out of Eternity.

April 17, 2011 is Palm Sunday

On this Palm Sunday, many people will go to church and never realize the importance of this single day in the lives of every human being on the earth.

The Lord determined that He would tell us the exact day that the Savior of the world would come to the earth, and He revealed this day through this word of Prophecy.

Jesus condemned the leaders in Israel because they did not recognize the day of His first coming:

Luke 19:41-44 Now as Jesus drew near, He saw the city of Jerusalem and wept over it, saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.

This “Day of visitation” was predicted in the Old Testament Book of Daniel, and this prophecy in Daniel is the key to all other Bible Prophecy and an understanding of the Second Coming of Jesus to the Earth.

  • A Chronological List of Events For the Last Days

A Chronological List of Events For the Last Days

This is the second in a four-part series on the Last Days. In this study we will look at a Chronology of the events from the present time in history, up to the end of time here on the earth, as described in the Bible

Two of the most asked questions from those who are interested in Bible Prophecy, are

“What is going to happen next in the world?”

“What does the Bible have to say about the events of the Last Days?”

Jesus said that the entire scope of all Prophecy in the last days, is centered around the nation of Israel. For almost 2,000 years the Jews were scattered all over the face of the earth. Being without a land of their own, they had lost their national identity and their homeland.

While Israel was without their own country, the Prophet Ezekiel wrote of a time in the last days when God would draw the Jews from all over the face of the earth, and place them back to their own land again.

Ezekiel 37:21-22 “Then say to them, “Thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land…

The promise of restoration by the Lord, is that once the Jews are back in their own land again, they will be protected by the Lord and dwell there permanently. Once they are in their land, in the last days, the Lord will allow Israel to rebuilt their Temple again and re-institute the temple sacrifice.

Ezekiel 37:26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore.

Israel is often referred to as being like a “fig tree” in the old testament:

Hosea 9:10 “I found Israel Like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers As the firstfruits on the fig tree in its first season.

Jesus said that when we see the fig tree once again blossom and put forth leaves, that we know that summer is near. This is a poetic play on words that was understood by the Jews to mean that when Israel became a nation again, back in their own land, that the Lord’s return was near.

  • Battle For the World: Shi’a Versus Sunni

Battle For the World: Shi’a Versus Sunni

A few days ago, shephard Smith of Fox News made the comment: “The whole world is falling down around us…”
Shepherd made this comment after having reported on the Muslim uprising’s that have recently began in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Two normally quiet and peaceful nations, now thrust into the same battles over leadership that Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Jordan, Algeria, Sudan, and Somalia are experiencing.

These are Muslim against Muslim revolutions. For most non-Mulsim’s we don’t have a clue what are they really fighting over?

The major news channels report that these people are in revolt because of dictatorial governments in these Arab nations that oppress and impinge the civil liberties of their people. The truth is that the cause of these uprising’s is much more sinister.

Amongst the Muslim people, there are two groups that have apposing ideas about how their religion should be led.

Islam originated with the prophet Muhammad. When he died, a division began with two groups called the Shi’a and the Sunni.

Sunni Muslims hold the position that leadership for Muslims should come from the most capable.

Shi’a Muslims hold the position that leadership for Muslims should come from the Prophet Muhammad’s own family.

  • Egypt in Context with God’s Plan for Israel

Egypt in Context with God’s Plan for Israel

There is one possible scenario concerning Egypt that many have not considered. It is important to remember that Egypt, the Arab nations, and the people of Egypt are not the powers that decide the outcome of world affairs. There is still a great God who remains on His throne and rules the affairs of men from heaven.

The course of human history is in the hands of the Lord, and the final outcome of Egypt and the government that will lead the citizens of that nation are determined by the one who oversees every institution of man.

Romans 13:1-2 “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.”

One of the mistakes that man makes often is that he does not consider God in determining the course of history. There have been many great and powerful leaders in past history who made the error of believing that they were the force that determined the outcome of their kingdom.

  • Egyptian Crisis Centers on Israel’s Security

Egyptian Crisis Centers on Israel’s Security

As we watch the events unfold in Egypt and the uncertainty of their future government, we are directed to the question of how Egypt’s instability will affect Israel’s security in the future.

If you live in Israel today you have to be concerned that Egypt will take the same course that Iran took some 30 years ago. Once the radical Islamic leadership took power in Iran their stated purpose was to insure that Israel found her destruction.

A turning from being friendly towards Israel to that of an enemy of Israel is one of the possible outcomes of the current uprising in Egypt. When the dust settles will the new government of Egypt maintain a non aggressive position towards Israel? How many other Arab nations will join the uprising and form new governments hostile towards Israel as a result of Egypt’s revolution?

This morning the King of Jordan announced a complete reorganization of his government. King Abdullah has so far been a neutral Arab nation having been placed by God at Israel’s close Eastern border. Similar moves are occurring in many other Arab nations as a result of the people of Egypt revolutionizing their country.

The neutrality of Jordan and Egypt in the past was one of the primary factors that have contributed to the safety and security of Israel. The United States has paid billions of dollars every year to these friendly Arab nations to insure their cooperation in Israel’s security.

From a prophetic view, when the battle of Ezekiel 38 and 39 begins, two of the Arab nations that are not mentioned as coming to attack Israel are Jordan and Egypt. Jordan is mentioned as the single place of safety for the Jews fleeing Israel during the reign of the antichrist. In the book of Isaiah God requests that Jordan shelter His “outcasts from the hand of the spoiler…”

Isaiah 16:4 “Let My outcasts dwell with you, O Moab; Be a shelter to them from the face of the spoiler…”

Beginning at the mid-way point of the Great Tribulation, the Jews in Israel will have the veil removed that currently covers their eyes and prevents them from seeing that Jesus is their Messiah. When the antichrist announces that he is God and that all the world should worship him, the Jews will flee Israel for Petra in the nearby nation of Jordan. It is there in Jordan that the antichrist is forbidden by God to capture that nation or do any harm to the Jews being sheltered there.

  • Understanding The Book of Daniel Chapter 9

Understanding The Book of Daniel Chapter 9

If you have been a student of the Book of Daniel and found that it is a little difficult to understand when it comes to chapter 9, you are not alone. I have been studying this amazing book and specifically chapter 9 for almost 36 years. From the moment that I first heard the prophecy of the 70 weeks taught, I was held captive by it’s mystery.

To consider that the Lord revealed the exact date of His first coming to earth as being on Palm Sunday, April 6, 32 a.d amazed me.

For any serious student of the Bible, the study of Biblical Prophecy is the most fascinating aspects of devoting yourself to diligent Bible Study. Any person who can claim that the Bible is not the Word of God and has no relevance for today, has never studied the prophecies of Daniel chapter 9.

In some of the former commentaries on the Book of Daniel, there has been several errors in interpreting chapter 9 in relation to the actual historical events surrounding Daniel’s Prophecy.

One of these errors was that the 70 years of Israel’s captivity by Babylon was to end with the coming of the Messiah. We know from history that the actual captivity lasted only 62 years. According to Daniel chapter 9:25, the period of time from the captivity until the coming of the Messiah was 62 weeks of years plus 7 weeks of years.

The 70 weeks of years foretold by Daniel’s prophecy, or 490 years are actually related to the “Desolation’s of Israel”.

These errors came from the fact that some former interpreters of Daniel’s Prophecy did not distinguish between:

    1. The Servitude of Israel.

    2. The Captivity of Israel.

    3. The Desolations of Israel.

  • The Great Tribulation and Limited Time

The Great Tribulation and Limited Time

If a person hears about the need to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior before the seven year Tribulation begins and yet rejects Him, it appears that this person will not find it possible to receive the Lord when the antichrist arrives.

The arrival of the antichrist will be with great power and amazing supernatural wonders that will deceive most people on the earth. 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 describes the fact that “Because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved”, these who have rejected Jesus, will have no desire to turn to Jesus during the reign of the antichrist.

It is the gentle convincing work of the Holy Spirit in a person’s life, as He witnesses to our spirit of our need for Jesus, that compels a person to repent and turn to Jesus.

It appears that during the seven years of the Tribulation, those who rejected Jesus before the Tribulation begins will not have the benefit of the Holy Spirit speaking to their hearts, as 2 Thessalonians declares:

“Because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

  • Daniel Chapter 7 and the Book of Revelation

Daniel Chapter 7 and the Book of Revelation

The four world-wide kingdoms that Daniel saw in his night visions began with the Babylonians from 605-538 B.C. Nearly 700 years later, John would be given a virtually identical vision of these same events in the Book of Revelation.

The four beasts than Daniel saw; A Lion, A Bear, A Leopard, and a Dreadful Beast beyond earthly description, were a Prophetic view of the four kingdoms that would dominate the world over the course of human history.

The Lion represented King Nebuchadnezzar, King of the Babylonians.

The Bear representing King Cyrus of the Medo-Persian Empire.

The Leopard representing Alexander the Great who conquored the know world when he was just 32 years old.

The Dreadful and Terrible Beast coming in “The Last Days” from a revival of the old Roman Empire led by the one called the “Beast” or “The Antichrist”.

It is important to remember that these first three kingdoms described in the Book of Daniel, were predicted hundreds of years before they actually occurred in history. The accuracy of these prophecies in the Book of Daniel are so precise that skeptics have often stated that they must have been written after the events actually took place. They contend that any prediction with the detail that Daniel describes, would be impossible to predict before hand.

Therein is the point that we who study the Bible have been making all along. The Bible is the handwriting of God. His words and thoughts, recorded by “holy men of God who spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit”. The most convincing proof that the Bible is the Word of God is that of the 2,500 plus prophecies in the scriptures, over 2,000 of these have already been literally fulfilled exactly as they were predicted, without a single error.

  • What is the Big Deal with Israel?

What is the Big Deal with Israel?

Have you ever wondered why the entire world seems to be making such a big fuss over the tiny little nation of Israel?

The land mass of Israel is about the size of the state of New Jersey. You could drive across the entire country lengthwise in about 2 hours.

One of the better Bible Prophecy web sites on the Internet, devotes most of their resources to tracking the daily activity that is centered around the nation of Israel. With all of the activity by Secretary of State Clinton, a huge push is underway to secure a peaceful solution to the tensions in that part of the middle east.

Okay, okay, so there is lot’s of activity on Israel now, but all this attention on Israel has not just occurred at this place in history. The interest and focus of the world has been on Israel since she became a nation again in 1948. The Palestinians insist that the land is theirs, the Jews insist that God gave the land to them as an eternal inheritance. The rest of the world watches the two sides fight over property rights like two small children screaming that the toy is “Mine”.

The purpose of this post is to point out that the real reason that the tiny little nation of Israel is on the hearts and minds of the whole world, is because this land is on the heart and mind of the Lord of Heaven. Every since the Lord called Joshua to bring the former complaining and doubting children of Israel out from the desert, into their own land, the land of Israel has been a huge priority for the Lord.

  • The Amazing Book of Daniel

    The Amazing Book of Daniel

It is important to understand that most of the Bible is centered around the nation of Israel.

The Book of Daniel is unique among the chapters of the bible in that it also has a special focus on all of the Gentile Kingdoms of the world described within it’s pages. Daniel is very interested in the prophecies dealing with the days that we live in right now. The Days when Jesus will return to the earth for His Church, and the beginning of the seven year Tribulation Period.

When Daniel is brought to Babylon, he is about 17 years old. At the time of the Writing of Daniel, the greatest kingdom in the world was Babylon, under the king Nebuchadnezzar.

Nebuchadnezzar was just a General when he defeated the kingdom of Egypt and Pharaoh Necho. On his way back from Egypt to Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar stopped and took the city of Jerusalem. While there in Jerusalem, Nebuchadnezzar gets word that his father the King has died.
