    The Arguments For “No God” Are Not Rational

    It is reasonable to state that whatever your concept of God currently is, this knowledge is very limited. It is impossible for a transient being to understand a transcendent being. It is certain that what we believe we know about God is infinitely less than the reality of His person.

    If we can accept for a moment, the self evident truth that the reason for the universe is God, and that He did make us for a purpose, we should at least explore that valid possibility and be willing to investigate Him further.

    Let us be honest, the universe, and closer to home, the earth, are reasonable proof for the existence of God. The most logical explanation for any phenomenon of unknown origin, is often the most obvious. A beautifully engineered, intelligently functioning creation, logically originates from an intelligence, rather than the product of random chance.

    Prophecy: God Proves His Existence Through His Son

    An amazing fact is that nowhere in the Bible does God seek to prove to us that He exists.

    In the 1st chapter of Romans, the Holy Spirit tells us why:

    Romans 1:19-20 …because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.

    First; God created each human being with an inner awareness that He exists (“what may be known of God is manifest in them” Romans 1:19). The evidence of this is universally seen all over the earth. Human beings have a desire to worship. They will worship many and various gods, objects, passions, and pleasures, even self. There is no other explanation for why all people have a desire to direct their affections so fervently towards something, except that God created us with a desire to worship. God made us for Himself, and it is through our worship of Him that we find our joy and satisfaction. Not until we truly begin to worship the one true God, will we find inner peace and contentment. People spend their entire life trying to fill up the emptiness they feel inside with everything they can. Only when a person comes into a personal relationship with God, through His Son Jesus Christ, is that emptiness fully and completely filled.

    To Not Believe Something That is True

    We live in a cynical world. It is hard to put faith in people and what they say. The reasons, are many, but most often it is due to the false statements and claims that have been made to us in the past.

    I am not surprised when a person finds it hard to believe the message about Jesus. I admit, it sounds to good to be true. And we all have heard the wise saying: “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is”.

    When we examine something that has credible evidence to lead us to believe that it is true, the reasonable person will fall on the side of belief.

    The Bible claims that there is One God who has revealed Himself in three person, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The second of these persons came to earth to die for us, to pay for our sins. They fact of human imperfection is not unknown to us. We are keenly aware of our shortcomings, and we can easily see the imperfections of others, on a daily basis. We accept these weaknesses that we all have and go on to try an live our lives the best that we can.

    In examining the Old Testament prophecy that the Messiah will be betrayed by a friend for thirty pieces of silver. We find that God is intentionally causing the prophecy to be difficult to fulfill, by the addition of impossible requirements

    Zechariah 11:12-13 Then I said to them, “If it is agreeable to you, give me my wages; and if not, refrain.” So they weighed out for my wages thirty pieces of silver. And the LORD said to me, “Throw it to the potter”—that princely price they set on me. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD for the potter.

    When we arrive at the New Testament fulfillment of these words, we find that the circumstances surrounding this fulfillment are trull stunning

    Matthew 26:14-16 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?” And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver. So from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.

    Israel sold her Messiah for the price of a slave who had been gored by an ox.

    Exodus 21:32 If the ox gores a male or female servant, he shall give to their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.

    This is all that Jesus was worth to the Jews and the religious leaders of Israel. The thirty shekels that the chief priest paid Judas for the Lord’s betrayal was intended as an insult towards Jesus. Though He created everything that exists, and He came first to His own people, they insulted, rejected, and butchered Him on a Roman cross.

    In a Nation without God, 20 children are Murdered at Their School

    In the days ahead, the nation will try to make sense of the death of 20 precious children by a fully armed gunman. Why? How could anyone execute a classroom of babies? Where is God in all of this? Why would God permit such a tragedy?

    When human life becomes worthless. When we are told by Atheistic Astrophysicist and Scientists that “God is not necessary”, and that “There is no God”, then our entire human existence becomes a meaningless accident without purpose. When children grow up in a society without God, then why can’t they do whatever they want to do? When Hollywood glorifies murder and evil, and the use of guns to randomly kill, why should we expect our children to grow up with a healthy fear of God and a knowledge of right and wrong?

    The Atheistic world view without God, cheapens life to a point where a 20-year old man finds that he can go into a classroom and kill children. When young people grow up with little or no knowledge of God’s existence, then they have no moral compass that teaches them the incredible value of human life.

    There is a very good reason that Evolution is called “The theory of Evolution”

    Theory: “An uncertain belief that is at present unprovable, that is being used to explain something that is based on a general set of principles that are as yet unexplained.

    Evolution is simply a group of ideas that are being used to prove that life originated from a series of mutations. The problem with the present “theory” is that after 100 years, there is still no solid empirical evidence that conclusively proves the theory of evolution.

    Often, you will hear those that claim to be experts in evolution, put forth statements that appear to be authoritative and conclusive. What we discover in reality is that these are unprovable ideas that have no real scientific basis.

    In January of 2009, a publication called “15 Evolutionary Gems” listed what they called “a succinct briefing on why evolution by natural selection is an empirically validated”. Written by Henry Gee, Rory Howlett and Philip Campbell, this publication describes itself as “a resource from nature for those wishing to spread awareness of evidence for evolution by natural selection”.

    In reality, the 15 points made by these three men are nothing more than foolishness and pandering to the lost cause that evolution is conclusive and absolute. I originally intended on refuting all 15 of the claims for evidence that these three men have published as evolutionary facts. Upon examination of the first “proof” that they offered, it became so apparent that all of these claims are utterly ridiculous with no real scientific or rational basis, I ended my article on this subject after the first proof from their publication. To continue to refute all 15 is really a waste of your time and mine. In every case, all of the points of “eidence” that are presented by these men, are as easily refuted as the first example I gave here.

    Why Salvation is a Free Gift

    Evolution is a “theory” for how life began, not a provable and tested fact. Why then do we allow the declaration that evolution is a settled fact to continue? Until evolution can be proven, other theories such as creation, and intelligent design should be studied, talked about, and taught as valid and plausible possibilities for how life began. Liberals pride themselves on being open minded. Except when it comes to matters of evolution, abortion, or accountability to a Creator. In these issues, those who think of themselves as being very wise and evolved in their free thinking, have absolutely no tolerance for any other opinion.

    When we hear celebrities such as Bill Maher make statements that evolution is an established fact, it causes us to wonder just how smart many of these public figures really are. Some famous people seem to believe that because someone with the letters “Phd.” Behind their name says that something is a fact, that it must be a fact. Of course the reason that evolution is so widely accepted is not for it’s scientific truth, or established facts, it is because it eliminates the need for God and thereby allows a person to live their life anyway that they choose, and be free from guilt for their sins.

    The Prophecies of Isaiah 53

    The book of Isaiah contains 131 of these 365 prophecies from the Old Testament that Jesus fulfilled. The gap between the original prediction of these events and the actual time of their fulfillment, is conservatively 600-700 years.

    We know from history that Isaiah wrote his prophecies during the reign of Kings Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, of Judah, who reigned at least 600 years before Christ was born. This is a matter of history that is indisputable and unimpeachable.

    We can verify from history that all of the prophecies spoken in the Old Testament were written by these authors who lived and penned their prophecies as God gave them, from the record of the Bible, as well as extra-Biblical sources. These prophets wrote during the reign of certain kings to which we know a great deal. Since these prophecies were written at the same time that these kings are recorded in the history books as being over certain kingdoms, the certainty of these prophecies and the dating of their writings is conclusive.

    As you read and study each of the 365 Prophecies in their entirety, you will be shocked and amazed at the precision and detail to which the Lord spoke the original prophecy, then recorded for us, how Jesus precisely fulfilled each one.

    1 Samuel 15 (the Lord speaking to Saul) Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’ ”

    This verse is regarded as one of the most difficult to understand pieces of scripture in the Bible.

    The Lord orders the complete slaughter of all men, women, and children. Including all infants, and nursing children, as well as every animal. The Critics of God, and of the Bible, use this verse as an example of the viciousness of God.

    They assert that God is not nearly as loving as he claims He is.
    They maintain that God is angry, vindictive, and cruel.
    They claim that God is dual in His personality, loving and merciful in the New Testament, but vengeful and bloodthirsty in the Old Testament.
    The reason that people have developed these Ideas is that they do not know God.

    It is common for people to make untrue statements about people that they do not know, nor have any type of relationship with. This is what human beings do; they judge without knowledge of the true facts. We read and observe what the Bible says that God has done, and many time we do not have a clue what is really going on. The fact that the Old Testament discloses these verses of scripture to us, describing God’s command to destroy these nations entirely, should reveal a few fact to us.

    The Importance of Bible Prophecy

    The prophets of the Old Testament not only predicted events that would happen in the distant future, they also predicted events that would take place in their immediate future.

    The only way that a person in Old Testament days could know if someone was a true prophet of God, was whether or not their words predicting events in the immediate future, came true. The test of a true prophet given in the book of Deuteronomy, was whether their predictions came to pass.

    In addition to predicting events that would happen hundreds or thousands of years into the future, these prophets of the Old Testament were predicting events that were to happen in their own lifetime. If their close predictions failed, they were labeled “false prophets” and were quickly put to death. Because of this strict requirement for one hundred percent accuracy, we are certain that all the predictions that we have in our Old Testament Bible, are true. If they were not, those prophets who spoke their close prophecies would have been stoned to death long ago, and none of their later prophecies would be in the Bible.

    Lack of evidence has nothing to do with the world’s hatred of Jesus.

    It is because the evidence is so great and irrefutable, that He is hated so adamantly. Many men have made great claims about themselves before in the history if the world, and they are quickly discounted as insane and forgotten. This is because there was no credible evidence for the claims that they made. Why is it that people hate Jesus so much? Because the evidence to support what He claimed about Himself is beyond repudiation. This is why people try so hard to discredit Him. If Jesus were not who He claimed to be, no one would pay Him any attention. The fact that He still stands out as the most important person in the history of the world, is evidence to His claims. Many millions of men and women over the course of the past two thousand years have tried to discredit Jesus, and they have all failed, and are dead and gone. Jesus is more prominent today in the world than at any other time in history. Why is this true? Because He is true and what He did and what He said is true.

    John 1:17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

    1. Is the God of the Old Testament different from the God of the New Testament?
    2. Is the God of the Old Testament angry and the God of the New Testament merciful?
    3. Does the differences that we see between the God of the Old and New Testaments lead us to conclude that the Bible is inconstant and contradictory?

    These questions are often asked of people who observe these contrasts in the Old and New Testaments and then have reason for pause in going further in their investigation of the Christian faith.

    “In the Beginning”… You Weren’t There

    According to Lawrence Krauss, the author of “A Universe From Nothing”, and many other bestselling books on Physics and Cosmology, the universe began from nothing. The universe being flat, and about 13.7 billions years old, is made up of 30 percent dark matter and 70 percent dark energy. Mr. Krauss says that if we subtract everything in the universe that is visible, including all human life, the Cosmos will not change at all.

    In his opinion, this tells us that human beings are “even more insignificant than any of us ever imagined.”

    In his famous Youtube video on the universe originating from nothing, Mr. Krauss states: “We are completely irrelevant. Why such a universe would be made for us when we are so irrelevant, is beyond me…”

    The Bible is the Most Valid Historical Document in the World

    What makes an ancient document valid and reliable?

    Surprisingly, the criteria is the same for all documents of antiquity. According to the “Rules for Evidence”, as administered in all courts of law in the United States:

    “Every document, apparently ancient, coming from the proper repository or custody, and bearing on its face no evident marks of forgery, the law presumes to be genuine, and devolves on the opposing party the burden of proving it to be otherwise.”

    The burden for showing that an ancient document is not valid, is on the opposing party who makes the objection. This means that any document that verifies the old or new testament scriptures, is considered valid under the rules of evidence, unless it shows the marks of forgery, when it is found in the normal place (church) that such documents would expect to be found, and has been used by the institutions that would normally be in custody of such documents.

    Origin of the Universe, Which One Takes More Faith?

    Atheists often criticize Christians in that they formerly believed that the Sun orbited the earth, prior to the 19th century. Until the recent past, Atheists believed that the universe was eternal, that it has always exited and always will exist.

    Today, scientists understand that the Universe had a finite beginning, and eventually it will have an ending.

    This leaves us with only two legitimate and logical explanations for the origin of the universe:

    Someone created the universe.
    The Universe created itself.
    Which of these two possibilities are more logical?

    Let us imagine that the universe arose out of some spontaneous uncontrolled mechanism, whereby it eventually developed, over billions of years of course, into all the life forms that we see present today.

    So, we would say: “In the beginning, there was nothing, then it exploded, and became everything that we can see, and everything that we cannot see…”

    Or, “In the beginning God created the universe…”

    Which of these takes more faith?

    Internal Proof of the Bible’s Authenticity

    The internal structure of the gospels, proves their authenticity.

    It is the contention of Atheists and Bible skeptics, that the Christians accounts of Jesus Christ, found in the four gospels are “fabrications”. Some acknowledge that a man called Jesus did live about 2,000 years ago, but there was nothing remarkable, nor miraculous about his life. Others would have us re-write the entire history of man for the past 2,000 years, claiming that there never was a person called Jesus Christ.

    When I read many of the comments made by Atheist’s, I wonder if the people who write these negative comments have actually read and studied the new testament gospels. I wonder if those who write such words have considered the fact that the single life of Jesus Christ has shaped and changed the thinking of the entire world? If He did not exist, and if He is not who He claimed to be, then how is it that He has exercised such tremendous influence upon every facet of human life?

    Just as we know that a person has been in a room, by dusting that room for their fingerprints, when we search the four corners of the earth, we find the fingerprints of Jesus Christ everywhere we look.

    The Historical Reliability of the Bible

    The Historical Reliability of the Bible

    This month, I have been reading and reviewing several books by leading scholars, on the subject of the reliability of the Bible, as a historical document. As I make comments in my reviews, I often have an opportunity to write an opposing view to Atheist readers and skeptics of the Bible.

    The following is an article that I wrote today, in response to criticism that the new testament is not a reliable historical document, because it is of religious nature.

    The new testament stands alone as a valid, reliable, historical document. It is laughable that the new testament is rejected by so many, strictly because it is a Christian document and of religious origin. That is to say, “You really cannot trust those Christians you know, they don’t know how to write good eye witness testimony, nor can they keep reliable records.”

    The facts is that the new testament scriptures would be held as credible and reliable evidence, according to the rules for evidence by the great history of the legal profession.

    Irreducibly Complex Systems “Didn’t Plan to Evolve”

    Irreducibly Complex Systems “Didn’t Plan to Evolve”

    In his Youtube video, the author of “QualiaSoup”, seeks to make his case that Irreducibly complex organisms are not so irreducibly complex. The author takes the listener through a series of mental gymnastics in which he asks the participant to accept his assumptions that explain why irreducibly complex systems such as the human eye, could have evolved.

    In an explanation of the mouse trap, an irreducibly complex system, the author states that by removing the mechanism from the base and attaching it to another base, we have rendered the mechanism non-irreduciblly complex.

    In a quickly passed over statement immediately after the mousetrap example, the author states:

    “A mousetrap is made with a goal in mind, evolution has no such goals, living mouse catchers didn’t plan to evolve that way…” (Excerpt from Qualiasoup You tube video)

    In other words, the complexity of the human eye, was not planned. In evolutionary thought, a human eye, as amazing and complex as it is, just happened by accident. The author asks us to accept that it was never the goal of any irreducibly complex system, to become whatever it became, it just happened to end up that way by chance.
