• The Prophecy of a Shepherd

    The Prophecy of a Shepherd

    “I shall not want”.

Once we have submitted our life to Jesus as “Lord”, He then can lead us. The results of being led by the Lord is that we will have no “want”. We will be content, and the longing of our heart for love and a purpose in our life will be satisfied. All the needs we have will be taken care of, as long as we keep the Lord first as Lord and Shepherd of our life.

Though the Lord is our Shepherd, we will still suffer losses during our life. Those we love will die, friends will come and go, and material blessings will be gained and lost. There will be suffering, pain, and sorrow, but in all these things, there will be a knowledge that we are loved by God, and that we have a Shepherd who is caring for us, tending to our injuries, and comforting us in our losses. There will be no “want” for answers to life’s problems and difficulties, if we abide in and stay close to our Shepherd. There will be a confidence about us, though doubts will come, and fears will never cease. If the Lord is our Shepherd, we will always come back to a place of peace, knowing that God is for us and the He will never leave us or forsake us. In these things we will have no “want” for answers, for the Shepherd will be our abiding provider and will guide us through all of life’s perils.

The Prophecy of the Narrow Path

The Prophecy of the Narrow Path

Is there blessing in not walking through this world in the same way that everyone else walks? David wrote these words, perhaps on a morning like this one. Maybe he felt a tug on his heart, and he wrote these words to encourage me today, nearly 3,000 years later, to make a deeper commitment myself.

In the same way, I am writing these words to you, some from David, some from my heart, about a day of revelation. A day to make a decision to walk in the path of Righteousness as an expression of our love for Jesus and desire to be His own special people who have set ourselves apart from this world, to belong more fully to Him.

Each one of us has to decide just how far we are willing to go with the Lord. Jesus had to make this decision Himself, before He gave His life for us. The Lord decided that He would give up everything for the Joy of seeing us forgiven and free of sin, and living finally in His glorious and perfect home in heaven.

  • Prophecy: When Sin is No Longer Sin

Prophecy: When Sin is No Longer Sin

Some of those who read the words of Paul were formerly “fornicators, nor idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, sodomites, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners”, but they had repented of their sins, and come to Jesus Christ for salvation: “And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”

Paul makes it clear that none of those who practice the gay lifestyle will inherit eternal life.

The sin of Homosexuality and Lesbianism are in the same category as all other sins. Jesus had to die for the liar as well as the gay. All sin is equal before God and requires either the death of the violator, or a substitute. Jesus blood covers the sins of the gay, the liar, the murderer, the fornicator and all other sins. God did not give special dispensation to some men who chose to have sex with each other or women with women. All sexual sin is considered particularly grievous to God because they are sins against our own body, to which Jesus dwells within us.

    Prophecy of the Messiah’s Prayer

    Prophecy of the Messiah’s Prayer

As the Messiah, Jesus defined the true meaning and intent of prayer in a way that none of us had know previous to His instructions to us. It is certain that a large part of Jesus ministry was empowered by His voracious prayer life. When all others were fast asleep, Jesus was on His knees before the Father, interceding for us.

The model for effective prayer is found in the habit and method of Jesus as He demonstrated how, and to who we should pray.

The Pharisees were known for their pretentious public prayers that they conducted before the public eye. The fact that the religious leaders felt it necessary to let the public see them praying gives us an indication of where their hearts were at. Jesus defined those who pray in this manner as “Hypocrites”. He said that they conduct their prayers in public so that they will be seen by others. He then contrasted how the true servant of the Lord should pray; “go into your room and pray to the Father in a secret place.” Secondly, when we speak to the Father, we talk to Him as if He is an intelligent being, who hears us the first time we speak. We do not need to conduct our prayers in repetition as is the practice of the pagan nations who do not know God.

  • Prophecy: “The End of All Flesh is Before Me”

Prophecy: “The End of All Flesh is Before Me”

When every new day brings news of a shooting or some other act of violence, we wonder when it will all end. It seems as though the world has become sick and there is no cure. All around us there is so much pain and suffering, it feels like the world we live in is a dark planet in some distant corner of the universe, not our home.

There was a time when the earth also became dark and evil and the people of our planet were far from God. The Bible records that there was one man and his family who were righteous, amongst the entire population of earth, Noah.

God told Noah that the end of all flesh was before Him. The earth was filled with violence and the wickedness of man was great on the earth. The Lord instructed Noah to prepare himself and his family for a judgement that was coming. He and his family alone, would be preserved through the darkness of what was coming upon the earth.

  • Prophecy: America Will Repeat Israel’s Greatest Error

Prophecy: America Will Repeat Israel’s Greatest Error

It was because of this gradual decline in the obedience of the people of Israel, forgetting the Lord’s “precepts and judgments”, that God allowed Nebuchadnezzar to siege their city and take captive their people.

If we believe that the United States of America was called by God to be a special nation above all other nations, for the purpose of displaying His great power, love, and grace, can we as a nation avoid a similar fate if we turn away from God?

If God did not spare Israel the invasion of a pagan nation and the total destruction and loss of everything they held dear, can we escape, if we follow the very same path they took?

It is no secret that America is not the same country that it was in former days. We have become a social welfare nation. A dwelling place for the execution of the unborn for convenience. We have seen over the course of the past 40 years, the degradation of the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman, and the allowance of sexual sin; men with men, and women with women. Our government spends vastly more than it takes in with a current massive increase in the national debt of well over 16 Trillion dollars.

  • On Making New Year’s Resolutions

    On Making New Year’s Resolutions

Paul said that he really wants to do right things. The problem was that when he sets out to do them he found that it was nearly impossible for him to perform them. Paul said that it was the sin that was dwelling within his heart that prevented him from keeping his resolutions.

Since it is so hard to keep our New Year’s Resolutions should we just not make any resolutions at all? Even if we did whatever we wanted to do, many of us have already have tried, that and it made us even more miserable that if we tried not to do them and failed.

The answer is to go ahead and make the resolutions, and determine to do them. Then pray and ask the Holy Spirit to enable us to perform all of our good intentions. Then when we fail, we repent and get back up and try again. We continue to try and be better, with the help of the Holy Spirit, for the rest of our life. Over the course of time we will get better at overcoming sin and temptation. Eventually some of the most troublesome sins will fall away. (only to come back when you least expect them).

  • Prophecy is Directed Towards Fulfillment by God’s Sovereignty

Prophecy is Directed Towards Fulfillment by God’s Sovereignty

In examining the Old Testament prophecy that the Messiah will be betrayed by a friend for thirty pieces of silver. We find that God is intentionally causing the prophecy to be difficult to fulfill, by the addition of impossible requirements

Zechariah 11:12-13 Then I said to them, “If it is agreeable to you, give me my wages; and if not, refrain.” So they weighed out for my wages thirty pieces of silver. And the LORD said to me, “Throw it to the potter”—that princely price they set on me. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD for the potter.

When we arrive at the New Testament fulfillment of these words, we find that the circumstances surrounding this fulfillment are trull stunning

Matthew 26:14-16 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?” And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver. So from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.

Israel sold her Messiah for the price of a slave who had been gored by an ox.

Exodus 21:32 If the ox gores a male or female servant, he shall give to their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.

This is all that Jesus was worth to the Jews and the religious leaders of Israel. The thirty shekels that the chief priest paid Judas for the Lord’s betrayal was intended as an insult towards Jesus. Though He created everything that exists, and He came first to His own people, they insulted, rejected, and butchered Him on a Roman cross.

  • God Loves Us So Much, He Will Allow Us to Suffer

God Loves Us So Much, He Will Allow Us to Suffer

It is worth noting that the some of common people perceived that Jesus was the LORD, while the religious leaders, and a majority of Israel did not recognize Him. The religious leaders were filled with their own self interest and pride. The poor and common people, were constantly seeking the Lord, hoping and watching for His arrival.

It is a fact of life that a person who is suffering or undergoing a deep time of trials, is more likely to be receptive to Jesus, than the person who is experiencing an abundance in their life. We seem to be more receptive to the Love of God when our life is severely lacking. This is the primary reason that Jesus said that the poor are “Blessed” because the kingdom of God is theirs.

Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Notice that Jesus does not necessarily say that a person must be poor to obtain the kingdom of heaven. He says that a person who is “poor in spirit” can obtain the kingdom of heaven. To be poor in spirit is to be humble and broken over the reality of sin in our life. To have an awareness that we are a sinner, and that we need a Savior. This kind of “spirit”, allows a person to come to God, repent of their sins, and obtain forgiveness and the blessings of eternal life, “the kingdom of heaven”.

A person who has been living a life of material blessing, can also have a “poor spirit” that cries out to God for mercy and salvation, but it is much more unlikely that this will occur. There is something about being self sufficient in having enough money and accumulated material possessions, that prevents many people from searching for God in their life.

  • Prophecy: When Messiah Comes, Israel Will Have False Teachers

Prophecy: When Messiah Comes, Israel Will Have False Teachers

The Jews who had believed in Jesus as their Messiah, evacuated Jerusalem after its first siege in 66 AD, and ahead of the final Roman siege in 70 AD. Just as Jesus had predicted, there was a massive slaughter of those who remained in Jerusalem and did not believe the words of Jesus.

The Roman army general, Titus, who later became the Emperor, came with his second in command, Tiberius Julius Alexander. Titus brought his army to the western side of Jerusalem. Three legions of soldier came from 5th Macedonica, 12th Fulminata, and 15th Apollinaris. On the east side of Jerusalem, Titus brought 10th Fretenis, near the Mount of Olives.

The strategy was simple; cut off the food and water supplies to Jerusalem and starve the people into submission.

Many people died of starvation during this siege of Titus, as the food supplies of the Jews inside the city of Jerusalem were depleted. Some people resorted to eating the flesh of their dead in order to survive. This was the fulfillment of the prophecy of Zechariah 11:9 “Let those that are left eat each other’s flesh.”

During Passover, Titus allowed the pilgrims to enter the city to celebrate Passover, but then refused to allow them to depart. A few attacks by the Jews on the Roman soldiers killed some of Titus men. In an insightful move by Titus, he dispatched his men to bring the Jewish historian “Josephus” to the city to try and reason with the Jews to surrender peacefully. Instead the Jews put an arrow into Josephus, viewing him as a traitor for seeking the surrender of Jerusalem to the Romans.

Being Set Apart For the Lord is a Lifelong Process

Being Set Apart For the Lord is a Lifelong Process

From Rob’s new book; “365 Prophecies”

At the moment we confessed our sins to Jesus and believed upon Him as our Savior, He “justified” us before God. The word “Justified” means that we are no Just-as-if-I, had never sinned. The Blood of Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins, washed away every trace of our sin and made them as if they never existed.

Secondly, we were then “Sanctified”, meaning that we were “set apart” to belong to Jesus forever. We become His Possession. I really like the thought of belonging to Jesus, because I know the wonderful care He gives to those things that belong to Him.

Once we believe in Jesus, God sets us apart for Himself. This is the act of Sanctification. This process will not be finished until our life here on earth is complete and we go home to heaven to be with the Lord. Everyday we must set ourselves apart for Jesus. We make decisions hour by hour that either speak of our desire to belong to the Lord, or our longing to belong to this world. We make many good decisions that please the Lord, we also choose wrong words or actions many times, that are not pleasing to Him. Thankfully, when we fail, He does not stop loving us, or abandon us. Jesus is faithful to us, even when we are unfaithful to Him. He is very patient towards us, and understands our frame; that we are made from the weak and unstable elements of earth. The entire process of being fully set apart for the Lord is a daily, step by step process, where we draw closer and closer to the Lord as we reject the things of this world, and the desires of our flesh that do not please the Lord.

  • An Inequitable Balance of Priorities

    An Inequitable Balance of Priorities

Mr. President, Restrict the killing of Babies in the womb and we will support your push to restrict assault weapons. That would be a fair trade agreement.

It seems to me that our President has a confused set of goals and an Inequitable balance of priorities. On one hand, he wants to stop the killing of children by assault weapons. On the other hand, he supports a woman’s right to choose to allow the killing of her unborn child in the womb. Statistics show that 9 out of 10 of the current abortions being performed in the United States are for the sake of convenience, or as a form of birth control. Only 1 in 10 are to save the life of the mother or for rape or incest.

I think that many responsible citizens of America would gladly trade their assault weapons for the lives of millions of babies that are murdered every year. The government has the power to stop this injustice, yet it continues to hide under the veil of personal freedom, called “the right to choose”. What about the right of a child to choose to live? It is not freedom of choice to take away the choice to live of an innocent child. Mothers are stewards of their babies lives, not judges of whether or not they have the right to live.

  • What You Read and Watch Changes How You Think

What You Read and Watch Changes How You Think

Filled with action, fantasy, broken families and conflicted relationships, many young people across the world find answers for their own lives in this series of movies and books.

What is unwittingly happening to the minds and hearts of many young people who are captivated by these stories, is a subtle indoctrination into the occult. Every aspect of the Twilight series gently brings the conscience and subconscience mind into an acceptance of evil, without the participant even realizing what has occurred.

Very few of those who have become involved in the occult have done so quickly. It is over the process of time, little by little, that people are drawn into the dark world of satan. A master of deception, satan works on the mind through the senses. Taking what appears to be harmless media, using things that are quite attractive, he draws the victim into his world and gradually dulls the senses. Over a long period of time, a person does not even realize that they are a part of the occult world. Having had the mind altered, the conscience seared, the evil that is seeded in the heart and mind, begins to manifest itself in the outward actions of a persons life.

  • Evolution Refuted by Their Own Evidence

Evolution Refuted by Their Own Evidence

There is a very good reason that Evolution is called “The theory of Evolution”

Theory: “An uncertain belief that is at present unprovable, that is being used to explain something that is based on a general set of principles that are as yet unexplained.

Evolution is simply a group of ideas that are being used to prove that life originated from a series of mutations. The problem with the present “theory” is that after 100 years, there is still no solid empirical evidence that conclusively proves the theory of evolution.

Often, you will hear those that claim to be experts in evolution, put forth statements that appear to be authoritative and conclusive. What we discover in reality is that these are unprovable ideas that have no real scientific basis.

In January of 2009, a publication called “15 Evolutionary Gems” listed what they called “a succinct briefing on why evolution by natural selection is an empirically validated”. Written by Henry Gee, Rory Howlett and Philip Campbell, this publication describes itself as “a resource from nature for those wishing to spread awareness of evidence for evolution by natural selection”.

In reality, the 15 points made by these three men are nothing more than foolishness and pandering to the lost cause that evolution is conclusive and absolute. I originally intended on refuting all 15 of the claims for evidence that these three men have published as evolutionary facts. Upon examination of the first “proof” that they offered, it became so apparent that all of these claims are utterly ridiculous with no real scientific or rational basis, I ended my article on this subject after the first proof from their publication. To continue to refute all 15 is really a waste of your time and mine. In every case, all of the points of “eidence” that are presented by these men, are as easily refuted as the first example I gave here.

  • An In-Depth Look at the Doctrine of the “Rapture”

An In-Depth Look at the Doctrine of the “Rapture”

A person not living in the daily expectation that Jesus could come at any moment, will become preoccupied with their own life and the things that are happening in this world. This mind set will cause the believer to do things that are contrary to the character of someone who is following Jesus. Finally, this lack of expectation will cause this person to be unaware when Jesus does come, and they will be caught by surprise when He returns.

The person who lives everyday in expectation that Jesus could come at any moment, will live a life that is constantly seeking to purify itself of things that are contrary to the Lord.

1 John 3:2-3 …when Jesus is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Jesus will reward the faithfulness of the person watching for His return with rulership over many cities and people during his one thousand year reign on the earth at the end of the seven year Tribulation.

Luke 19:17 And he said to him, “Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’

If upon His return, the Lord shall find a person who claims to believe in Him, but has lost the expectation of His soon return, and gone back into the world to live as non believer, He will “I will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.” (Luke 12:46 above)

How important is it that we continually teach the doctrine of “The Rapture of the Church?” According to Jesus, is one of the most important doctrines that we MUST continually study, meditate on, and continue to look forward to.

One of the points that critics of the Rapture claim, is that “The Rapture is not taught in the Bible”. When I hear someone say this, I am always amazed. I know that they didn’t come to this conclusion by reading and studying the Bible themselves. This opinion came by what they heard someone else say or teach. If we simply read the Bible we will come away with the conviction that Jesus will return for His church at a time just prior to the beginning of the seven year Tribulation.

  • The Desolations of America

    The Desolations of America

In 1644, Roger Williams penned the famous work; “The Bloody Tenet”. This chronicle of Christian religious liberty was the basis for the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

Roger Williams was considered a “Separatist” who believed that only Christianity held the key to eternal life. In spite of his firm stance on Jesus only for salvation, he pushed for acceptance by government for the allowance of all religions to worship God in the manner to which they saw fit.

Mr. Williams believed that the only way that Christians could thrive in their faith was if the government was kept from interference in how and where believers could exercise their faith. This could only be possible if all religions were protected by the government.

The purpose of the “Bloody Tenet” was to allow the influence of Religion in the government of the United States, while at the same time, preventing Government from establishing a state religion to which they could control, as with the Church of England. At no time did Mr. Williams ever consider that the government would preclude Christianity from influencing government. At the time the Constitution was framed, a majority of the signers were believers in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

America: Want God’s Blessing? Be a Blessing to God

I watched with great interest the president’s speech this morning on rebuilding the economic prosperity of America. It was a great and inspiring speech and contained many important and relevant facts that inspired me and is the reason that I am writing this post.

The key element of President Obama’s speech that was missing was the fact that America has been blessed by God in her past history because the citizens of this great land have honored and worshipped the God of the Bible.

The founders of our nation stated that it was impossible that this land could have come into existence if God had not willed it to be. The reason for our past prosperity and global standing as the most wealthy and powerful nation on the earth is because as a people, we have in the past honored God.

“It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.” – George Washington

    On Being a Christian

    On Being a Christian

The only way that people in the world can know that we are a true follower of Jesus Christ, is the love that we display openly for each other. If we publicly ridicule, criticize and rebuke each other, the message that the world receives is that being a follower of Jesus is going to subject us to the same kind of betrayal, unfaithfulness and hatred that people in the world experience every day.

Why would anyone want to become a follower of Jesus, if those followers are exactly like the people in the world?

The primary characteristic that we should be developing in ourselves is Love. Love towards other believers, because they also love Jesus. We overlook each other’s failures, inadequacies and mistakes. When we see or hear another believer in Jesus write or teach something to try and encourage other believers, our only response publicly should be full of grace, and love.
