With the amazing peaceful revolution of Egypt in just 18 days, more oppressive, dictatorial governments in other Islamic countries are on the horizon.
The people of Iran have long dreamed of a free and democratic system where they could exercise the rights guaranteed to other countries with free and impartial elections. As Iranians watch the amazing change of events happen in Egypt, intelligence reports coming out of Iran are that a quiet revolution is also in the works in this ancient Persian kingdom.
The desire to be free is not a uniquely American dream, it is the desire of every man to live in freedom and peace.
Many of the experts had predicted that the toppling of Egypt’s Mubarak government would leave a vacuum in that area, allowing the Muslim Brotherhood to take power and create an Islamic state similar to Iran.
Today we see the opposite occurring, as peace and freedom loving people in many oppressive Islamic states are gaining encouragement that they could experience the same kind of change in their own country.
It just goes to show that you never know just what the Lord might do in any given situation. Many had ignored or forgotten the “God Equation” in the Egyptian uprising and had not considered what He might do. No matter what man may plan or think will happen, the Lord is the one that is always in control of the affairs of man. He topples governments and He raises up governments according to the counsel of His will.
The wisdom of man is foolishness to God. When man thinks that he has something figured out and how the situation is going to turn out, the Lord of Heaven confounds and amazes man with an entirely different course of action.
1 Corinthians 3:19-21 “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”; and again, “The LORD knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.” Therefore let no one boast in men.”
Let us not forget that God loves the people of Egypt and Iran and every Islamic country for that matter. Jesus shed His precious blood and took the torture of the Cross for every person that has ever been, or ever will be born on this planet.
It is the desire of Jesus that all men be free and have the opportunity to find Him and be saved. It is not the will of God that any man should perish, and He takes no pleasure in the death of those who hate Him.
1 John 2:2 “And Jesus is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.”
Ezekiel 33:11 “Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die?’ “
Because we are living in the last days and Jesus’ return is so very near, a final push is underway by God to save as many as can be saved. The world very well may experience a great spiritual awakening with the eyes of millions being opened to the glorious love and grace of Jesus Christ.
We may be seeing the very beginning of an incredible work that the Lord is doing in the Islamic countries of the world. It may be that the Lord will allow the people of these oppressive Islamic nations, their freedom so that the gospel of Jesus Christ can be spread throughout their land and they can know Jesus and be saved.
It would be wise for all Christians around the world to pray for the people of Egypt, Iran and the other Islamic nations, that God would do such an amazing work in these lands that the entire world would sit up and take notice.
Imagine if millions of people in Islamic nations turned to Jesus Christ after discovering who He is and what He has done for them. It is the Love of Jesus Christ that draws all men to the true and living God.
In the quietest and most peaceful revolution the world has ever known, the Creator of all things came to earth and took the body of a man, laid down His life without a fight, and made the forgiveness of man’s sin and his eternal life possible.
It appears a new generation of quiet and peaceful revolutions have begun. Let us be diligent to pray, wait and watch for the great things our God will do.
Acts 2:17 “And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.”
