The major news agencies across America this morning are reporting that a United Emirates Boing 777 from Yemen to the United States, was carrying bomb making materials.
Two U.S. Airforce F-15 fighter jets escorted the U.S. bound jet from the Canadian border to New York’s JFK airport where it was met by security officials. Before the arrival of the Emirates Jet into American air space the U.S. government insisted that the Jet was not a threat to the security and safety of those on board or the ground.
John Cornelia who is the spokesperson for the U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command revealed that the Emirate passenger jet was escorted over Canadian air space by a Canadian fighter jet.
The intent of the package containing the bomb making materials is not certain at this time. It is certain though that the package represented either an actual attempt at detonating a bomb on an American passenger plane, or a dry run to test the security measure of the United States for an actual future attack.
Since the successful attacks on America on September 11, 2001, American has been on constant vigilant watch for the next attack by fundamentalist Islamic threats worldwide. Before that time the degree of threat was greatly diminished with most Americans giving little thought to a potential attack by any Islamic organization.
When Israel reached a particular place in their history where their dissobedience to God caused Him to bring a promise of action by Him, through other nations, the Lord permitted these enemy nations to gain access to Israel which had for hundreds of years been under the protection of God.
Jeremiah 5:15 “Behold, I will bring a nation against you from afar, O house of Israel,” says the LORD. “It is a mighty nation, It is an ancient nation, A nation whose language you do not know, Nor can you understand what they say.“
The Lord allowed the pagan nation of Babylon to have power over Israel because they had forgotten the Lord and began to serve the gods of pleasure, money and power. Surely as the Lord has established the United States in response to the prayers of those who had been under religious oppression in England and Holland, to have a new land with new laws that would allow it’s citizens to worship the God of the Bible without fear of government interference. Now, 234 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the land that was once dedicated to the worship of the One True God, has fallen into the same snare that Israel fell into; The pursuit of money, material things and power, instead of loving the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
Do we really think that the Lord will not visit us as a nation with the same fate as that of Israel if we do not repent as a nation and come back to the Lord? The fact that God has already allowed our enemies to have access to us on our own land, when for 234 years He has protected us from all such attacks. Has not that removal of God’s protection already began to deteriorate beginning on September 11, 2001? As we see increased efforts by our enemies to find a weakness in our security and certainly to someday visit us again with a terrifying repeat of September 11.
In the Book of Leviticus, the Lord established for Israel the ground rules for abiding in His favor and what would be the consequences of forgetting Him:
Leviticus 26:14-16 “But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you…”
Leviticus 26:17-19 “I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you. “And after all this, if you do not obey Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. I will break the pride of your power…“
Has the Lord changed from the time that He wrote these words to Israel?
Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LORD, I do not change...
Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
The Lord does not change. What was important when God said these words to Israel in Leviticus chapter 26 then, in requiring them to remain in His favor by keeping Him first, surely these same things are also required of the United States to stay in the constant favor and protection of the Lord today.
When we hear of packages that contain bomb making materials that are brought into the United States in the cargo holds of passenger aircraft, it is not far away that more successful attacks will soon be carried out, as God progressively removes His hedge of protection from the U. S.
Leviticus 26 17-19 describes the fact that as the Lord speaks, He waits for His people to respond. Sometimes for decades, but when they do not respond as has been the case with the United States, further judgement is certain.
Leviticus 26: 18 says that “After all this, if you do not obey Me, then I will punish you SEVEN times more for your sins. I will break the pride of your power…”
“I will break the pride of your power…”
There is no amount of careful planning or detail in screening the cargo of every plane that comes to the United States that can prevent a future attack on American soil, if the Lord removes His hedge of protection from us as a nation. He loves us so much that He will not allow us to completely forget Him. It is for certain that America has great “Pride in her Power”, just as Israel has in her past history. America boasts of the fact that she is the greatest power on the earth. Under the guise of using that power for the greater good of all mankind, we have forgotten where that power came from and to give back the Glory and Honor to the Lord who gave this power to us in the first place.
