In an article by the Jerusalem Post on November 10, 2009, it has been learned that Israel and Jordan have conducted joint exercises in the Beit She’an Valley. This valley is at the juction of the Jordan river and the Jezreel valley where many major battles have been fought in the past, and the location of the Battle of Armageddon that will be fought as described in the Book of Revelation.
Revelation 16:16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon
The concern by both nations is that in the event of an emergency where a major earthquake would occur in this area, their desire was to be able to jointly evacuate and treat earthquake victims.
This is interesting as this area has a known fault line that has been found under the surface of the earth that indicates that a major quake could occur in this specific area. The Book of Zechariah records that when Jesus returns to earth and touches down at the mount of Olives, near this location, that a great earthquake will occur here.
Zechariah 14:4-5 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south. 5 Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee As you fled from the earthquake In the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the LORD my God will come, And all the saints with You.
Upon the Lord’s return with all those who have been raptured just prior to the beginning of the seven Year Tribulation, Jesus will go to this area spoken of in this article by the Jerusalem Post and destroy the waiting army of the antichrist which has been assembled to destroy Jesus and all we who love Him. The Lord will slay everyone who has come to fight against Him, leaving the blood from this battle to the depth of a horses bridle for the entire length of the valley of Megiddo, over 200 miles.
Revelation 19:17-19 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.” 19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
Revelation 14:20 And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs.
Another exciting possibility is that the Beit She’an valley will most likely be the place through which Israel will flee from the wrath of the beast during the mid-way point of the Great Tribulation upon the commanment given that all the world should worship the beast as their god. Jesus spoke of this time as being “The Abomination of Desolation”
Revelation 12:14 But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.
Revelation 13:12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
Matthew 24:15-16 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
In the newly built Temple in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount, the false prophet will erect a statue of the new world ruler the Bible describes as “The Beast”. A command will be given by the false prophet for all the world to worship the beast. Jesus said that this was the signal for the Jews living in Israel to flee Jerusalem as quickly as they can to “the wilderness”. We beleive that this place in the wilderness will be in the present day Jordan, referecnce in this article in the Jerusalem Post. The exit point for this departure by the Jews will very likely be the Beit She’an valley.

Israel and Jordan conducted a drill simulating an earthquake in the Beit She’an Valley on Monday. According to an Army Radio report on Tuesday morning, IDF Home Front Command forces and their Jordanian counterparts practiced evacuating and treating earthquake victims.
To create the full effect, a number of buildings were demolished in Kibbutz Messilot. According to the radio report, the two armies worked in full cooperation, to create common grounds in case of future emergencies.
The drill was kept under wraps until its conclusion to avoid exposing Jordan to negative sentiment, which could have brought about a cancellation.
Last month marked the 15th anniversary of the Israeli-Jordanian peace agreement, but Jordan has been lashing out at Israel over recent clashes between Arab rioters and security forces in Jerusalem’s Old City, warning that Israel’s continued “provocative behavior” in the city could “derail all opportunities for peace and stability in the region.”
On Monday, Jordan’s King Abdullah II called on Israelis and Palestinians to refrain from any action which undermines the chances for Middle East peace, and said Israel must treat the Jerusalem issue with sensitivity.
