In today’s Tehran Times publication, Major General Yahya Safvi warned that all of the United States Warships in the Persian Gulf are within range of their land based missile systems.
This seems to be a veiled threat to the United States to stay out of the affairs of the Iranian government and that any provocation by the U.S. would be met with military force by the Iranian leadership.
Iran sees the presence of U.S. warships as a direct threat that is much different from the Unites States conflicts with Iraq and Afghanistan. Whereas the U.S. Military forces were on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan, the presence of the U.S. Navy in the Persian gulf is a greater threat felt by Iran.
It will be interesting to watch this current situation to see if Iran will use this as an opportunity to confront the U.S. in international waters. As the day of an air strike by either Israel or the U.S. looms large, this may be the precursor to a near future acceleration in tensions between Iran and the U.S.
The Prophecies of Ezekiel indicate that in the Last Days, Iran will allingn herself with forces of Russia to plan an attack on Israel. This force will come to Israel either just before the Rapture of the Church, or immediately after the Church is removed from the earth.
These are exciting days to be living on the earth. May we continue to draw closer to Jesus day by day so that when the moment of His arrival is here, we will not be ashamed that we were not waiting and watching for Him.
