Of course the debate over Intelligent Design Versus the Theory of Evolution looms large in all aspects of America, and rightly so. For in this debate is one of the final bastion of Christian value still apparent in America. The vast majority of Americans still believe that the Universe was created by an all knowing, all powerful God. Americans are a thoughtful, pondering people who do not bow easily to ludicrous claims, and find it very hard to believe that all this came from random chance or worse, nothing at all then suddenly exploded into all we can see.
I am personally reading a few books on the subject of Intelligent Design that are familiar today and have greatly enlightened me to the strengths of Intelligent Design as well as the obvious weaknesses of Evolution. When one takes the time to examine the intricate design of the cell for example, they find that these tiny objects of life contain tiny motors that make the operation of the cell possible.
How many of us arose this morning and went out to our automobile and looked under the hood and said “Amazing, this thing happened over billions of years, countless mutations of trial and error, and here is is today, in my car ready to drive me to work.”
As described in Michael Behe’s book “Darwin’s Black Box”, Stephen Meyer’s “Signature in the Cell”, and Fazale Rana’s book “The Cell’s Design”, a motor speaks of a designer. These tiny motors found in every cell and bacteria have within them a rotor, stator, bushings, O rings and a power source, all of them “irreducibly complex”. That is to say, remove any single part of these tiny motors and they fail to function. This necessitates that all of the parts of these motors must be present at the same time in order for them to operate.
In the Theory of Evolution, parts came together very gradually over the process of billions of years, not all at once. The problem for Evolutionary theory is that these motors found in the cells of every human being and the bacterium of all life, contain these motors that could not possibly have evolved. In order for them to operate and life to exist, they had to be Created all at once. This brings us to the conclusion that an Intelligence Created these tiny motors in a single instance, making life as we know it possible.
There are other problems for the Theory of Evolution that do not often get discussed. Take for example the theory that animal species have in the past evolved into other animal species. The truest definition of science is that in order for something to be classified as genuine science and be termed fact, is that it is observable. No one in all of the recorded history of science has ever observed the process of one animal species become another animal species. Dogs do not become cats, horses do not become birds. We do see within the species, that they adapt and change based on environment, food supply and predator threat. These changes within the species are observable ad are good science.
The Evolutionists problem with Chirality:
Most people who believe in Evolution, hold that the very first cell of life was a simple bacterium. The bacterium cells that we know and study today have about 128 million base pairs of DNA. Scientists have found ancient fossils of bacteria that have only 500,000 base pairs of DNA. It is speculated that it may have been possible for the earliest bacteria to have survived with as little as 100,000 base pairs of DNA.
Even allowing for the simplest of the first bacteria, they would require at least 10,000 amino acids with at least 100 functional protein chains, themselves hold a few hundred amino acids. These minimum numbers are important because of a principle called “Chirality”. In the construction of DNA or RNA, their chains have certain orientation for their amino acids. All amino acids are “Left Handed”, all Proteins are “Right handed”.
If these amino acids and proteins are not constructed properly, they will fail.
This means that for the first bacterium to be able to exist and function, the amino acids and proteins in these bacterium had to be in the correct orientation of the chain, either right or left side oriented.
When we study nature however, we find that all amino acids occur randomly in equal proportions of right and left handed mixture. Even after many years of study in this area, scientist have not been able to change this equal mixing of right and left handed amino acids that naturally occur.
All Amino Acids would have to orient themselves t0 Left Handed. All Proteins would have to orient themselves to Right Handed. This means that all 100,000 proteins would have to be right handed or the cell would not function.
This would be like flipping a coin 100,000 times and getting all heads every time.
All 10,000 Amino acids would have to be left handed, or they also would not function. This would be like flipping a coin again 10,000 times and receiving the result of Tails every time. Even if one protein or amino acid is on the wrong side of the chain the cell will not function.
Mathematically speaking the odds of flipping a coin 110,000 times and getting all head or all tails is staggering. ½ X ½ 110,000 times is 1 in 10 33,333.
Mathematicians and scientists today agree that any probability beyond 10 to the 50th power is Mathematically impossible. To give you and idea how large the number 10 to the 33,333 is, the odds of winning 4,700 state lotteries in a row, all at the same time, with just a single ticket is about 10 to the 33,333.
Or count all of the atoms in 400 universes such as our universe and you will get the number 10 to the 33,3333

The bottom line is that Evolution is not science, it is not provable, it is not even scientifically or mathematically possible. There is no proof of evolution in the geologic fossil record, it cannot be seen in any transitional species today, and when we try to calculate the amount of time that evolution would take for a single celled creature to evolve into a human being, there is not enough time in all of time for this to happen.
It is Impossible. In other words, it takes more faith to believe in evolution that is does to believe that “In the beginning, God Created the heavens and the earth…”
