Several news agencies in the Gulf region of the United States are now reporting that the oil spill by BP may have a ‘Doomsday Scenario’. Apparently the oil well casing deep under the ocean floor may have ruptured and is seeping oil directly into the ocean floor itself.
If these new reports are true, then it may be impossible to stop the flow of oil in the Gulf. This would mean that the flow of oil into the ocean cannot be stopped and that the current flow into the currents of the ocean will move oil around the world.
As BP frantically moves to place some sort of cap over the leaking oil, they are at the same time pressurizing the oil in the casing deep beneath the ocean floor. This is forcing oil through cracks in the oil casing in other areas, making the flow of oil impossible to contain.
The lasting effects of oil moving into ocean currents that will carry it around the world is what is now being called “The Doomsday Effect’.
It is interesting that the Gulf region has suffered one catastrophe after another. As recovery begins in the Gulf in one area, tragedy seems to continue to break out in other areas.
My wife and I were in Gulf Breeze Mississippi a few months ago and were awestruck by the number of destroyed, missing and abandoned buildings along the coastal region devastated by hurricane Katrina. Some parts of this region have never recovered from the past devastation, and for certain cannot endure any further devastation that this latest tragedy will bring to the area.
The Lord has been speaking to America since 9/11 of our need to return to Him as a nation and a people. One tragedy after another has visited our great nation over the past decade with the herald going unheeded. As the return of Jesus nears every day, the Lord is seeking to gain the attention of the nation that He called into existence. The call is to return to the place of reliance upon Him, and to once again honor Him in the individual lives of Americans.
When Daniel realized that the time of Israel’s captivity in Babylon was nearly over, he began by prayer and repentance, to ask the Lord to return His favor to a people who had long since forgotten Him. From the moment that Daniel determined in his heart to seek the Lord, the angel Gabriel later told him that “from that moment he had been heard by the Lord.” If we as individuals will by repentance and sincerity return the One who birthed us, He will return His protection and Blessing to our beloved nation.
Many have asked why it is that a nation as great as America is not mentioned in the pages of Bible Prophecy. I believe that our absence from the prophetic word is because we will cease to be a great nation after just shortly after a 200 year existence. No nation that has forgotten the Lord has ever continued to prosper or to exist for long after they had abandoned the One who first called them. If Israel was allowed by the Lord to go into captivity by a pagan nation for 70 years, because they had ceased to honor the Lord in their individual lives, how far behind can America be in the same fate?
If we as individuals return to the Lord in repentance for our nation and humble our own hearts, the Lord will return to us and spare our nation any further tragedy. It is for certain that if we maintain our current course, nations from outside American soil who hate our way of life will be given access to our cities, and what we believe are ‘natural disasters’ will continue in the current trend until someday we find ourselves also in captivity and devistation.
