As a part of the growth and development of Bible Prophecy Update, we are adding a new feature. Beginning today we will go through the Bible, starting with the very first prophecy in the Bible, and write a brief commentary on each of these verses of scripture as they occur in order from Genesis to Revelation.
In the 19th chapter of the Book of Revelation, one of the angels who is dictating to John the events of the Last Days, says to John, “The Testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy”. (Revelation 19:10)
The entire purpose of Bible prophecy is to illuminate Jesus and reveal Him for who He truly is. Prophecy is not about predicting the future as much as it’s intended purpose is to show the one who is in control of the future.
Jesus is the Author of all life and the one to which all life depends. The entire Bible is about Him and His intended purpose to bring the love of God to whomsoever will believe in Him and trust Him for their eternal life.
We will seek to relate each of these prophecy’s in the Bible to Jesus, His plan and purpose for the world and the events of the last days in which we currently live.
