Just sitting here looking out my window this morning on Bantayan Island and thinking about the love of God.
The sun has risen about an hour ago in one of the most spectacular displays that I have ever seen. Every new morning I am reminded that His mercies are also new every morning.
The shimmer from the new sunrise glistens across the water just a few steps from my front door. People are starting their day as they walk along the shore, perhaps wondering if anyone really loves them or cares. I pray a silent prayer for them that somehow through the noise and confusion that they can hear His voice; “I have loved you with an everlasting love…”
Life is not always easy and there will be trouble today, that is for certain. Even so, we have the promise of Jesus that “In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world…” Lord overcome those difficulties that will come against us today and cover us with your gentleness and peace.
A quiet meditation early in the new day. A reflection towards the greatness of His wonderful love. The assurance that “in all things we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us and gave His life for us.” How could we ever feel alone or uncertain or have a doubt about that love.
Yet Lord we do have constant doubts, and we faint so easily. Hold us, shelter us, draw us near on this new day as we think about you and remember how much you love us.
