Today begins a new and exciting addition to Bible Prophecy Update. Many people are not aware that the Old Testament contains 365 Prophecies about the coming of the One the Bible calls “The Mashiach ben David”, The Messiah, Son of David.
It is logical that if there is a God who has the technology to create this vast and complicated universe, that He also possesses the ability to validate who He is. Since it is by words that human beings communicate with each other, and very often those words are communicated through books, it stands to reason that God would communicate with man through human words. Having power over all the events of human history, God could protect and preserve the exact words that He wanted to communicate in a book or compilation of books.
I believe that the only Book(s) that meet the criteria for consideration as a validation of God’s existence and desire to communicate with man, is the Bible. This conclusion is based on the rational conclusion that the Bible makes bold and assertive claims that certain events will happen in human history that will lead to the introduction of God’s Son. This Son will fulfill all the vast and detailed predictions made concerning Himself and will validate who He is when He arrives on the earth.
Over the course of the next 365 days, I will post here on Bible Prophecy Update, one of these prophetic predictions made in the Old Testament, and give its fulfillment by Jesus.
What are the mathematical odds that one person in all of human history could perfectly fulfill all 365 of these Old Testament Prophecies? Scientists and Mathematicians have computed that one person fulfilling just 8 of the 365 prophecies found in the Bible would be 10 to the 17th power. This is a 10 with 17 zeros behind it.
To give you an idea how immense this number is: Evolutionists have estimated that the total number of seconds in the existence of the Universe is about 10 to the 17th power. Even if you do not concede to the theory of evolution, 10 to the 17th power is an immense number.
And I can prove that Jesus fulfilled all 365 of the Old Testament Prophecies concerning the coming of the one who the Bible calls “The Savior of the World”.
Prophecy 1:
Old Testament Prediction:
Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”
Fulfillment by Jesus:
Luke 1:35 “And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.“
Matthew 1:18-20 “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.“
The prediction given by God Himself in Genesis chapter 3:15 is the very first prophecy found in the Bible. Amazingly this prediction is made by God in response to the fall of man. Soon after Adam and Eve violated the only rule that God gave them, to not eat of the one specific fruit found in the garden, Adam and Eve begin the process of death.
Up until that time Adam and Eve and all of their offspring, which would have included you and I, were eternal beings who would never become sick, grow old, or die.
God desired a genuine relationship with man that was based on trust and true devotion. If there was no way for man to test his love and devotion to God, then he would never truly know if he did love God. True love is always based on choices. We have the choice to live our lives in such a way that we please those to whom we claim to love. If we choose to hurt the objects of those we say we love, disobey them or betray, we have shown by our actions that we really did not love the person we had claimed.
Without there being one tree in the midst of the garden, Adam and Eve could never formally test their love and devotion to God. Without God giving man a choice, He would not truly be exhibiting love to man, nor would He have the opportunity to have a true relationship with man.
Amazingly, God already knew the course that man would take when He created him. In the New Testament Jesus is spoken of as being; “The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world”.
Revelation 13:8 “All who dwell on the earth will worship Him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.“
Jesus volunteered to be the fail safe plan for man when he sinned and condemned himself to eternal death, even before Adam breathed his first breath.
This first prophecy in the Bible is a confirmation of God’s original intent to create man with the privilege of choice. Then when man made the wrong choice and condemned himself, God would step in and offer up His own life as a payment for man’s mistake.
The persons that God is speaking to in Genesis 3:15 are satan and Eve.
To satan God says that He will forever place enmity or friction and hatred between satan and mankind. For all of man’s existence satan will try to destroy him because he is made in the image of God.
To Eve God promises that from “Her Seed” shall come one who will “Bruise the head” of satan. If you bruise your toe you are not likely to die. If on the other hand you bruise your head, you very likely could suffer a fatal blow and die.
It is clear that God is predicting that from a woman who will supernaturally have both the seed and the egg within herself, there will come a Savior who will destroy the works of the devil and redeem man back to his former place of Righteousness. Under normal circumstances a woman possesses only egg and must obtain the seed or sperm from a man.
The eye witness accounts of Jesus’ birth found in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke describe the fact that Mary was a virgin who had known no man, and was found to be pregnant by the power of the Holy Spirit. The child within her was fully human, but was also fully God. The perfect candidate to take man’s place and die for his error.
If God did not become a human being like us, and if that human being himself had any trace of sin that came from Adam, that man could not be the Savior of all men. The eye witness account of Jesus’ birth proves that He Met all the qualifications for being the Messiah, the Savior of all men.
