Signs of Antichrist: Obama Wants a Signed Peace Agreement

When the time of the seven year tribulation is upon us, there will be a massive move to make peace in Israel. The peace, according to Daniel Chapter 9 will come by a “Covenant”, or agreement between many nations and Israel. The signing of this peace treaty is the opening of the first seal in Revelation Chapter 6, verse 1. Either just before or just after the signing of this peace agreement, Jesus will remove His church from the earth at the event described in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4:16-18. Then after a short three and one-half years of peace, the new world ruler who brought the peace treaty, will have a statue of himself erected in the newly built temple in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount, and proclaim that the world should worship him.
This is the event that Jesus described in Matthew 24:15-22 called “The Abomination of Desolation”. This event will trigger the opening of the second seal in Revelation chapter 6 that will bring war. As the third through seventh seals are opened, the judgments and plagues upon earth grow progressively worse leading into the blowing of the seven trumpets and finally the pouring out of the seven bowls of Jesus wrath upon the earth. In the totality of these twenty-one judgments, nearly two-thirds of the population of the earth will perish. All those who refuse to take the mark of the beast and worship him, but instead chose Jesus Christ, will be beheaded as described in Revelation 20:4. It will be possible to be saved during the last three and one-half years of the Great Tribulation, but it will cost you your life. Important to remember that if a person cannot live for Jesus Christ now before the Great Tribulation begins, they most certainly will not be able to wait until the tribulation begins to die for Jesus Christ. Better to receive Him now while there is still time.

Signs of the Last Days: Teens Becoming ‘Fake Christians’

Signs of the Last Days: Teens Becoming ‘Fake Christians’

If you’re the parent of a Christian teenager, Kenda Creasy Dean has this warning: Your child is following a “mutant” form of Christianity, and you may be responsible. Dean says more American teenagers are embracing what she calls “moralistic therapeutic deism.” Translation: It’s a watered-down faith that portrays God as a “divine therapist” whose chief goal is to boost people’s self-esteem. Dean is a minister, a professor at Princeton Theological Seminary and the author of “Almost Christian,” a new book that argues that many parents and pastors are unwittingly passing on this self-serving strain of Christianity. She says this “imposter” faith is one reason teenagers abandon churches. “If this is the God they’re seeing in church, they are right to leave us in the dust,” Dean says. “Churches don’t give them enough to be passionate about.”

    The Purpose of Prophecy

    The Purpose of Prophecy

I have people ask me all of the time if the teaching of Bible Prophecy is really that important. Perhaps as you perused the available Amazon Kindle Blogs that are currently available and you came upon “Bible Prophecy Update” you thought to your self; “Why would I want to subscribe to a Blog like that?” The purpose of prophecy is not to predict the future or to inflame our emotions to fear what may be ahead. The purpose of Bible Prophecy is to reveal who Jesus really is. To bring the human population into an awareness of God’s plan for mankind and how much He loves us all. In the last book of the Bible, the Book of Revelation, John wrote that the entire purpose of Prophecy is to reveal Jesus.

Revelation 19:10… For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

As you hopefully read my blog here each week, you find that there are many Bible Studies, a Daily Devotional and other studies Perhaps you have thought that these studies seem to have nothing whatsoever to do with Bible Prophecy. The reason that there are these kinds of resources on this web site is that absolutely everything is of a prophetic nature even if at first we do not realize it.

Russian Tycoon Order Employees to ‘Find God’

Russian Tycoon Order Employees to ‘Find God’

Vasily Boiko-The Great, who controls a major agricultural holding, has written to his 6,500 employees, ordering those “living in sin” to get married in church within two months or be fired. The deadline, 14 October, is a Russian Orthodox festival. He has also banned any of his employees or their wives from getting abortions, saying he does not want to work with “killers.”
The farming tycoon said he was forced to resort to extreme measures after Russia was struck by an unprecedented drought and thousands of wild fires this summer. “Such an extreme situation is punishment for the Russian people’s sins,” he told daily newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda. “I need to take extreme measures including looking at the way my employees treat God.”

Signs in the Heavens This Week

Signs in the Heavens This Week

Wednesday and Thursday nights promise excellent opportunities to watch the Perseids blast through the black sky. Last year, the bright moon stole the stage and made for lousy Perseid viewing. This year, the new moon has politely left the sky nice and dark so that the meteor shower can be enjoyed with little luminary interference. Also known as “the Tears of St. Lawrence,” the Perseids’ annual show always falls around August 10, the day that commemorates St. Lawrence’s fiery martyrdom during the reign of Valerian.
The August Perseid meteor shower offers one of the year’s best light shows. Between 90 and 100 meteors will fall every hour, and the view gets even better after midnight. Imagine that the earth has a face, and all day long our planet hurtles through space facing backwards. But, as it rotates after midnight into the new day, the earth noses into the very direction that it’s zooming, and it dives face-first into the dust-cloud left from the comet Swift-Tuttle. Sometimes the meteors are so large and close that they hiss and sizzle as they burn across the sky at 37 miles per second.
This year, the earth will hit the densest part of the comet debris trail about 8pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time on Wednesday evening. Paper carriers will have the best view-time, as the prime hours to watch will be between 2am and daybreak. As long as the clouds keep away, the dark hours of Wednesday night August 11th into Thursday morning August 12th and Thursday night into Friday morning will provide the best times to pull out the lawn chairs and sit back and count the shower of “falling stars” that follow.

Current World Disasters Could Cause Food Prices to Soar

Current World Disasters Could Cause Food Prices to Soar

WASHINGTON: Fires, floods, locusts and droughts – a combination of crises that could mean higher food prices around the world over the next 12 months. The US agriculture department will released a report today assessing world grain supplies. Many analysts expect it will forecast a two-year low for wheat inventories – an estimate that would likely send wheat prices, which have climbed steadily all summer, moving even higher. Russia, the world’s third-largest wheat exporter, imposed a four-month ban on grain exports last week because of drought. The decision will pull millions of tonnes of wheat out of world markets. The World Bank has urged other nations not to follow suit, fearing a supply crunch like the one that drove 2008 prices to twice their current levels and prompted food riots in Africa and Asia. Severe winter frosts and a summer drought have damaged the crop in Ukraine, the world’s sixth-largest exporter, and Kiev is expected to impose its own export ban later this month.

China Warns US Over Naval Presence in Their Region

BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s People Liberation Army demanded a tough response to U.S. plans to send an aircraft carrier to naval exercises near its coast, saying that “respect” was at stake. A commentary in the Liberation Army Daily on Thursday laid bare rancor over Washington’s naval exercises with ally South Korea, and over its criticism of Chinese territorial claims to swathes of the South China Sea, where Taiwan and several Southeast Asian states also have claims. “A country needs respect, and a military also needs respect. ‘If someone doesn’t hurt me, I won’t hurt him; but if someone hurts me, I must hurt him,” wrote Major General Luo Yuan in the paper.

“For the Chinese people and the Chinese military, those are by no means idle words.”

The angry commentary in the PLA’s top mouthpiece, carefully vetted by censors, also underscored Chinese military pressures weighing on Beijing as it crafts policy The U.S. and South Korea last month held a joint naval drill in the Sea of Japan off the Korean peninsula, which brought condemnation from China, which answered with its own heavily publicized military exercises.

Killed For Serving Jesus in Afghanistan

Killed For Serving Jesus in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan — Their last meal was a picnic in the forest in the Sharrun Valley, high in the Hindu Kush mountains of northern Afghanistan. Returning home from a three-week trek on foot to deliver free medical care to the remotest regions of the country, the aid workers — six Americans, a Briton, a German and four Afghans — had just finished eating when they were accosted by gunmen with long dyed-red beards, the police said. The gunmen marched them into the forest, stood them in a line and shot 10 of them one by one. The police found their bodies, seven men and three women, on Friday, the Badakhshan Province police chief, Gen. Aqa Noor Kentoz, said Saturday.

Did Churchill and Eisenhower Cover Up UFO Encounter?

Did Churchill and Eisenhower Cover Up UFO Encounter?

With a civilian population haunted by the Blitz and the Second World War still in the balance, it was one development Winston Churchill could have done without – an incursion into British airspace by an arrow-shaped metallic object feared to contain an invasion force of little green men. Such was the sensitivity of an alleged UFO sighting by an RAF bomber crew returning to England from a mission over Germany that Churchill ordered it to be covered up with the words: “This event should be immediately classified since it would create mass panic amongst the general population and destroy one’s belief in the Church.” This at least was the allegation put to the Ministry of Defence by relatives of a senior British military aide who claimed to have witnessed the cigar-chomping Prime Minister discuss the incident with General Dwight Eisenhower as part of a meeting about a succession of “foo fighter” sightings by Allied air crews in the Second World War. The curious matter of visits by wartime aliens is one of hundreds of reports of strange celestial phenomena – from a space station covered in pulsating lights to an unusually agile rocket which buzzed a Boeing 737 at Manchester Airport – to be revealed in documents released today by the National Archives in Kew, west London.

Giant Ice Island Breaks Off Greenland

Giant Ice Island Breaks Off Greenland

An ice island four times the size of Manhattan broke off from one of Greenland’s two main glaciers, scientists said Friday, in the biggest such event in the Arctic in nearly 50 years. The new ice island, which broke off on Thursday, will enter a remote place called the Nares Strait, about 620 miles south of the North Pole between Greenland and Canada. The ice island has an area of 100 square miles and a thickness up to half the height of the Empire State Building, said Andreas Muenchow, professor of ocean science and engineering at the University of Delaware. Muenchow said he had expected an ice chunk to break off from the Petermann Glacier, one of the two largest remaining ones in Greenland, because it had been growing in size for seven or eight years. But he did not expect it to be so large.

Man Kills Girlfriend and Drinks Her Blood

Man Kills Girlfriend and Drinks Her Blood

BARTOW, Fla. (AP) – Bail has been denied for a 42-year-old central Florida man accused of stabbing a friend to death and then drinking his blood. A judge denied bail for Mauricio Mendez Lopez who made his first court appearance Thursday. In court Lopez said he had been drinking and had no memory of the incident which happened Sunday. Lopez was picked up Wednesday after he was spotted by a citizen. He is accused of killing Macario Cruz in a house they shared in Bartow. A third resident, Cruz’s sister-in-law Mariella Mendez, told police that Lopez fatally stabbed Cruz because he was having an affair with her. Lopez is the uncle of Mendez and Cruz’s wife, who lives in Mexico. A police report shows the men had an argument in which Lopez struck Cruz in the face with a 15-pound dumb bell. He then allegedly threatened to kill them both unless the relationship ended. Authorities say Lopez returned later and stabbed Cruz to death. Mendez told police Lopez left with a plastic cup in his hand that appeared to hold blood. She said he drank from the cup in a strange ritual from their native Mexico.

    7.0 Earthquake Hits New Guinea

    7.0 Earthquake Hits New Guinea

PORT MORESBY — A major 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck a remote mountainous region of the Pacific nation of Papua New Guinea on Thursday, seismologists said, causing panic but no initial damage or injuries. The quake hit a sparsely populated area of the island of New Britain at 8:01 am (2201 GMT Wednesday) at a depth of 54 kilometres, the US Geological Survey (USGS) and the Papua New Guinea Earthquake Office said. “We are not aware of any damage at this point, but it was pretty strongly felt in the town of Kimbe and on other parts of the island, people are really shaken up,” seismologist Lawrence Anton of the PNG Earthquake Office told AFP. The quake hit about 20 kilometres (12 miles) from the centre of a 7.3-magnitude earthquake that hit the region in July. The epicentre of the latest quake was 145 kilometres east of Kandrian, on New Britain, and 570 kilometres east of Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea.

2010 Is an Unprecedented Year for Weather

2010 Is an Unprecedented Year for Weather

Jesus Said: Luke 21:25-28 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
As We see these unprecedented weather patterns around the world we are reminded that Jesus said that these types of events would immediately precede His arrival back to earth at the even the Bible calls “The Rapture of the Church” (1 Thessaloninas 4:14-17). Any day now, those who have loved and believed in Jesus may hear their name called by the Lord and then suddenly find themselves transformed and in the outer atmosphere of the earth, gathered with all those who also love Jesus, standing in the presence of the Lord. He will then take us all back with Him to heaven where there will be a great reunion, a Banquet for all, and the giving of rewards for our faithful life of service to Jesus while in our bodies on earth. Then, 7 years later, in earth time , Jesus will ride out of heaven (Revelation 19), back to earth with all of us who love Him, and Jesus will set up the 1,000 year kingdom promised in the Old Testament of Righteousness over the whole earth. Lift up your heads when you see all kinds of strange weather and the perplexity of men over the economy, wars, and evil… Jesus is about to come for you.

Solar Storm Hits Earth Causes Spectacular Show

Solar Storm Hits Earth Causes Spectacular Show

On 1 August, almost the entire side of the Sun that faces the Earth erupted in a blaze of activity known as a “coronal mass ejection”. These storms throw up to 10 billion tons of plasma – superheated gas – off the surface of the star and hurtling into space at around a million miles an hour. It covered the 93 million mile journey from the Sun to the Earth in just three and a half days. It was the “first major Earth-directed eruption in quite some time,” according to Leon Golub, a scientist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA), who warned of the event on Monday. The flare which caused the eruption was relatively small, described as a class C3 by astronomers. Other flares, known as X or M class, are much larger, and capable of doing damage on Earth. C-class flares rarely have much effect on Earth beyond auroras – the glowing displays towards the poles, like the Northern (and Southern) Lights.

Solar Tsunami Headed For Earth Tonight

Earth is bracing for a cosmic tsunami Tuesday night as tons of plasma from a massive solar flare head directly toward the planet. The Sun’s surface erupted early Sunday morning, shooting a wall of ionized atoms directly at Earth, scientists say. It is expected to create a geomagnetic storm and a spectacular light show — and it could pose a threat to satellites in orbit, as well. “This eruption is directed right at us and is expected to get here early in the day on Aug. 4,” said Leon Golub of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. “It’s the first major Earth-directed eruption in quite some time.”

    Churches Entertaining Kids or Discipling?

    Churches Entertaining Kids or Discipling?

Clearly this generation is anything but irreligious; quite the contrary. However, further examination of the research begins to reveal the disconnect I mentioned earlier. According to the study, only 55 percent of Protestant teens believe in life after death-a belief held by 50 percent of all teens, including the nonreligious. In a further contradiction, 69 percent of Protestant teens say they have made “a personal commitment to live for God” and yet only 32 percent read the Bible once a week or more, while 19 percent report having had premarital intercourse in the last year compared to 22 percent of those who are unchurched. Additionally, 63 percent of Protestant teens report cheating in school compared to only 58 percent of all teens and 41 percent say that morals are relative-that “there are no definite rights or wrongs for everybody.” Sociologist Dr. Christian Smith reported in an earlier, much larger study gleaned from in-depth interviews published in his book, Soul Searching, that “we suggest that the de facto dominant religion among contemporary U.S. teenagers is what we might call ‘Moralistic, Therapeutic, Deism.’” This of course has very little to do with historic, orthodox Christianity.

Few Americans Say Faith is Their Priority

Few Americans Say Faith is Their Priority

Nearly 90 percent of Americans, according to the CIA World Factbook, identify themselves with a religion. But only 12 percent of American adults say faith is a top priority in their life, according to a new study released Monday by the Barna Group. About three-quarters of the U.S. population is Christian. “The gap is vast between self-described affiliation with Christianity and ascribing highest priority to that faith,” commented David Kinnaman, president of the Barna Group, in a statement. “When it comes to why so much of American religion seems merely skin-deep, this gap between what people call themselves and what they prioritize is perhaps most telling.” The 12 percent who say faith is the highest priority in their life is up from nine percent in 2008, but down from 16 percent in 2006. Looking at the Christian faith demographic, evangelicals are the most likely to say faith is the highest priority in life (39 percent), while Catholics are the least likely (4 percent), according to the Barna study.

A Bushel of Wheat For a Penny

A Bushel of Wheat For a Penny

We learn in Genesis that Abram (renamed later by God to Abraham) was a rich man. How do we know? We are told that “he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.”1 In Biblical times, these things were all media of exchange. No king decided this; he didn’t call in his magi to decide what the medium of ex-change would be. Ordinary people, or “the market” made the decision. Let’s say a king did decree that rocks could be used as money. Would anyone use them? Probably not, because they would not know the value of those rocks. Unless you are building a lot of things (or stoning a lot of adulterers), rocks fail to meet a standard for money: they have no intrinsic value. If a civilization was to advance though, it had to come up with a convenient way to save and exchange value to buy things. Leather was used in ancient Rome. (Contrary to popular belief, Roman soldiers were not paid in salt. The term salary [from the Latin salārium] was money given to Roman soldiers to buy salt.2) Animal pelts, whiskey, and tobacco leaves were used in the former British Colonies, wampum (strings of beads) was used by the American Indians, dried fish were used in the Canadian maritime colonies, maize or corn was used in Mexico, and salt, iron and farming tools were used in Africa. These things are called “commodity money.” As civilizations became more complex, most forms of commodity money be-came very cumbersome. (Who would want to give or get 300 sheep to buy a car?) Another medium of exchange had to be found.
