    Atheistic Ignorance of God

    Atheistic Ignorance of God

Sometimes I think atheists are simply having arguments with themselves – or, more precisely, with phantoms bred by their own ignorance. It’s easy to see why atheism does not make more headway, even in modern secular society: Once atheists begin to spell out the sort of deity they are rejecting, it becomes clear that they don’t know what they’re talking about.

Julian Baggini, author of the Very Short Introduction of Atheism (perhaps the only one you need) and founding editor The Philosopher’s Magazine, is a very clever and amiable guy — under normal circumstances. But have a look at this piece, which appeared as the lead opinion piece in the most recent Saturday edition of The Independent, the liberal UK broadsheet paper. When an atheist pens a piece with the title, ‘If science has not actually killed God, it has rendered Him unrecognisable’, one wonders which screws have become loose.

Like others on this blog, I am always bemused by the ways in which atheists strive to say convincing things about a deity in whose existence they supposedly do not believe.

Shroud of Turin is a Radiation Photo

Shroud of Turin is a Radiation Photo

Scientists are building the case that the image of a crucified man on the Shroud of Turin was created by radiation that emanated from the body itself, a theory remarkably supportive of the traditional resurrection account that is central to Christian theology. A scientific paper co-authored by attorney and historian Mark Antonacci and physicist Arthur Lind argues that the image of the crucified man in Shroud of Turin might constitute what amounts to a photograph taken at the instant Jesus’ body transformed as he rose from the dead. Jerome Corsi’s “The Shroud Codex” is a thriller of faith and action. Get it autographed at WND Superstore! In the paper, “Particle Radiation from the Body,” Antonacci’s and Lind’s argument centers around the 29 unique or unusual features that scientists over the past four decades have found on the Shroud’s body image and fiber.

There is a Man Sitting on the Throne of God

There is a Man Sitting on the Throne of God

I personally believe that the reason that many people did not recognize Jesus after His resurrection, was that His form was drastically altered by the scars from His beating and crucifixion. On the road to Emmaus, the disciples did not know that it was Jesus who had been walking along with them until they stopped to eat and Jesus reached out and handed them bread to eat. It must have been at that moment that they saw the scars on His wrists where the nails had penetrated Him.
Luke 24:13-15 Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem. And they talked together of all these things which had happened. So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them.
Luke 24:30-31 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight

Do You Have to Believe That Jesus is God to be Saved?

Do You Have to Believe That Jesus is God to be Saved?

No wonder so many people today do not understand how Jesus could pay for the sins of the whole world. It has not been explained to them that Jesus is the Creator God who has always existed and who spoke the Universe into being. That is why when Jesus took the body of a man and became like one of us, He was still God living in the body of a human man. As God Jesus has the power to die for us, as God He as the power and the right to forgive all of our sins. If Jesus was not the eternal God, our sins are not forgiven and we have no hope.
Does that sound important enough to you that people should know these facts? I think you see my point. Tell people the whole story of Jesus Christ, who He is and why He can forgive their sins. It is because He is the God who made them.

The Leading Reason People Reject Jesus: Us.

The Leading Reason People Reject Jesus: Us.

The leading cause of people not accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior is Christians. Living in these last days, that really should not be a shock to many of us. As Jesus church we so often fail to display those characteristics that Jesus had, the chief of which is Love. I have had some of my own experience with the lack of love from fellow Christians. Abandonment, betrayal and gossip that has destroyed my reputation and my peace. All for which I did nothing wrong, those wrongs only imagined in the minds of the betrayers. When people see us as believers, they should see a glimpse of Jesus. Least of which is the sacrificial, others oriented love that Jesus said would be the mark of whether we truly knew Him or not.

    What An Amazing God

    What An Amazing God

We should never think of the attributes of God as being like the petals on a rose that can be picked off when we like them and left alone when we do not. The attributes of God cannot be seen in isolation from each other. God is Unity and as such, He must be understood in the totality of His nature. When the Lord shows us His judgment and wrath, He has not ceased to also be Merciful, Kind and Patient. Conversely, when He expressed His Love, Patience, Mercy and Love to us, He has not ceased to be a God of Judgment and Wrath. As human beings we very often emphasize the attributes of God that we love the most, while forgetting those we like the least. We speak of and apply God’s love to our individual circumstances, but we forget that God is also Just and cannot condone sin or excuse it. He will not Love us at the expense of His Holiness. He Loves us but He also will judge all sin and remove it eventually from the presence of the Universe.

A Growing Interest for Jesus in Israel

A Growing Interest for Jesus in Israel

The Messianic ministry Revive Israel located just outside Jerusalem reports that its staff and partner ministries have experienced an upsurge in interest among secular and religious Israelis in the person and ministry of Yeshua (Jesus). In their latest newsletter, Sahar S. writes that a group of 40 young Israeli college students recently visited the Revive Israel offices to ask questions regarding Jesus and the New Testament for a course on Israeli history and culture. “They were surprised to discover that the promise of a new covenant is written in the Hebrew prophets (Jeremiah 31). The biggest news to them was that Yeshua loved the God of Israel and that His teachings were focused on a fulfillment of the moral law in the Ten Commandments (Matthew 5),” said Sahar. “A number of them came with pre-conceived ideas and even anger towards Messianic Jews. At the end of the meeting a young religious man came and admitted that his perspective had changed about who we are – Israeli Jews who believe in Yeshua.”

    Questions About God

    Questions About God

We can only partially comprehend the notion of God’s existence. To do so, we must use human concepts to speak of God: “without beginning or end”; “eternal”; “infinite”, etc. The Bible says that He has always existed: ” . . . even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God” (Psalm 90:2). And, “Your throne is established from of old; Thou art from everlasting” (Psalm 93:2). Quite simply, God has no beginning and no end. So, where did God come from? He didn’t. He always was. To us, the notion of time is linear. One second follows the next, one minute is after another. We get older, not younger and we cannot repeat the minutes that have passed us by. We have all seen the time lines on charts: early time is on the left and later time is on the right. We see nations, people’s lives, and plans mapped out on straight lines from left to right. We see a beginning and an end. But God is “beyond the chart.” He has no beginning or end. He simply has always been.

Answers to 7 Positions Held by Atheists

Answers to 7 Positions Held by Atheists

I have not seen sufficient evidence for God’s existence: To say you haven’t seen sufficient evidence for God’s existence is a more intellectually honest position, but it is really a form of agnosticism which maintains that God is not known or knowable, while admitting the possibility of God’s existence.
If a person has not seen sufficient evidence for God, then it means he has not yet seen all evidence, and there might be sufficient evidence. This would mean that God may indeed exist, so the person is really an agnostic concerning God, which makes his atheist position inconsistent with his statement.

    One God, One Savior

    One God, One Savior

The Bible is the final authority on who God is, His Character, and His nature. Although others have tried to add to the Bible by adding “Another Gospel”, they fail completely when held under the close scrutiny of examination. According to the Bible, Adam was the first man (1 Corinthians 15:47), and so there could not have been other men before him on other planets. It is specifically stated that Adam’s body was formed from the dust of the ground, not through sexual relations between mother and father God, in fact, there is no mother god in the Bible anywhere. This is a Pagan concept that has always been rejected by biblical Judaism and Christianity. Jesus Christ is called the “Second Adam”. Through His death, burial, and resurrection, He became the Savior of all who believe in Him. This new life is given to them by the Holy Spirit and is not one eternal round. It is evident from the fact that Jesus is called the last Adam (1Corinthians15:45) that human beings do not evolve into higher beings or gods. Jesus is the only God and savior who will ever die for human beings, likewise, there will be no Adams after Jesus Christ, the last Adam.

    What Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Believe?

    What Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Believe?

According to Jehovah’s Witness’ theology, God is a single person, not aTrinity, who does not know all things and is not everywhere. He first created Michael the Archangel through whom He created all “other things,” including the universe, the earth, Adam and Eve, etc. This creative work took God 42,000 years. At one point, The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society taught that God ruled the universe from somewhere in the Pleiades star system. They have since modified this to say that the “Pleiades can no longer be considered the center of the universe and it would be unwise for us to try to fix God’s throne as being at a particular spot in the universe.”1 Such changes and evencontradictions in teaching are frequent in the Watchtower organization and when a doctrine changes, they tell their followers that the light of truth is getting brighter

Use the Quran to Share Christ with a Muslim

Use the Quran to Share Christ with a Muslim

ANGLETON—Winning Muslim converts to Christianity is difficult, but veteran missionary Kevin Greeson knows a way—start with the Quran.
Greeson, who has served 16 years with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board working to start Christian movements among Muslims in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal, stressed the importance of spreading the good news of Christ with Muslims.
“The best way to fight terrorism is to share the gospel. And I believe that not because I want to fight terrorism, but because there are lost people,” he explained.
Debating religious tenets with Muslims is a waste of time, Greeson added. Muslims are taught to memorize the Quran in Arabic, not analyze it, he said.
“Even in Pakistan, where they speak Urdu, boys memorize the Quran in Arabic. They are not allowed to ask what anything means. They are told the words are too holy for them. Just memorize,” Greeson said.

Tiger, Forget Buddhism, Find Christ: Brit Hume on Fox

Tiger, Forget Buddhism, Find Christ: Brit Hume on Fox

Brit Hume turned evangelist on Fox New Sunday, in a segment with panelists predicting the future for Tiger Woods after Woods’ notable “transgressions” (now a 2009 top euphemism, along with “Appalachian Trail,” as a signifier for “mistress.”)
Hume forecasts Woods will recover as a golfer but
…Whether he can recover as a person depends on “his faith. He’s said to be a Buddhist. I don’t think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith. So my message to Tiger would be, “Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world.”

First Jesus-Era House Found in Nazareth

First Jesus-Era House Found in Nazareth

Nazareth, Israel (AP) – Days before Christmas, archeologists on Monday unveiled what they said were the remains of the first dwelling in Nazareth that can be dated back to the time of Jesus — a find that could shed new light on what the hamlet was like during the period the New Testament says Jesus lived there as a boy.
The dwelling and older discoveries of nearby tombs in burial caves suggest that Nazareth was an out-of-the-way hamlet of around 50 houses on a patch of about four acres (1.6 hectares). It was evidently populated by Jews of modest means who kept camouflaged grottos to hide from Roman invaders, said archaeologist Yardena Alexandre, excavations director at the Israel Antiquities Authority.

Is Jesus Really God, or Just a Good Teacher?

Is Jesus Really God, or Just a Good Teacher?

Following Jesus is about relationship, not religion. Believing in Jesus and the sacrifice He made for us, is unlike any religion of man. Jesus Himself, is not like any man that has ever lived.

First, even though Jesus is fully man, the Bible also describes Him as fully God. One of the mysteries of the Universe is how the infinite God of the Universe could contain Himself within the body of a human being.

It was impossible that Jesus could offer His life in exchange for all of our lives, unless He became one of us, a man redeeming mankind.

Did the Resurrection of Jesus Christ Really Happen?

Did the Resurrection of Jesus Christ Really Happen?

Is there a way that we can know for sure that Jesus did raise from the dead and that all of His claims and promises are true? Yes, we can know for sure and test whether or not the resurrection happened, in the same way we test any other historical event that happened.

How do you know that George Washington was a real man, that he was the first president of the United States of America, and that all the things that are claimed about Him are true?

Funny isn’t it that we just take for granted what is written in the history books, or when a teacher or professor tells us facts concerning George Washington, we naturally assume them to be true. The Question is, have you verified that these facts are true for yourself? I would imagine that most people “assume” that the facts about George Washington, or any other historical figure, are true and come from reliable sources.

Is There Just One Way To Heaven?

Is There Just One Way To Heaven?

One of the most controversial subjects in the world today is that of “How can a person enter Heaven?”

There are so many religions and so many who claim to have knowledge of what it takes in order to be qualified to enter Heaven when a person dies. “Surely all of these different religions cannot be wrong”. “God is Merciful and Loving and He will accept a person if they are sincerely seeking Him…” “All roads lead to heaven if a person is just sincere…” Are these thoughts and views correct? Can a person make it to heaven by following any church or religion?

Surprisingly, the Bible stands is stark contrast to all religion and religious philosophies of man. From the Book of Genesis through Revelation, the Bible reveals that there is only One God and only One way to this God in Heaven. This study is dedicated to answering this controversial subject and clarifying what the God of Heaven said Himself is required for you to be able to enter Heaven.

    Atheists Promote ‘Good Without God’

    Atheists Promote ‘Good Without God’

According to the Word of God there is no such thing as a good Atheist, just as there is no such thing as a good Human being. All men have sinned and therefore can never be good or morally perfect. The Bible’s definituon of Good is defined as being without sin, or to be morally perfect. Since moral perfection is not possible for any man to achieve, there can be none truly good. All men need a Savior and only Jesus is the one Savior who’s sacrifice fully paid for the sins of every person every born. Because Jesus is God and is eternal, His life that He offered for us as a Man had infinate value. The value of Jesus life is so precious that He could offer forgiveness to every person who has lived on the earth. Without Jesus Sacrifice eternal life and moral perfection are impossible.
