Signs of Antichrist: Obama Wants a Signed Peace Agreement

When the time of the seven year tribulation is upon us, there will be a massive move to make peace in Israel. The peace, according to Daniel Chapter 9 will come by a “Covenant”, or agreement between many nations and Israel. The signing of this peace treaty is the opening of the first seal in Revelation Chapter 6, verse 1. Either just before or just after the signing of this peace agreement, Jesus will remove His church from the earth at the event described in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4:16-18. Then after a short three and one-half years of peace, the new world ruler who brought the peace treaty, will have a statue of himself erected in the newly built temple in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount, and proclaim that the world should worship him.
This is the event that Jesus described in Matthew 24:15-22 called “The Abomination of Desolation”. This event will trigger the opening of the second seal in Revelation chapter 6 that will bring war. As the third through seventh seals are opened, the judgments and plagues upon earth grow progressively worse leading into the blowing of the seven trumpets and finally the pouring out of the seven bowls of Jesus wrath upon the earth. In the totality of these twenty-one judgments, nearly two-thirds of the population of the earth will perish. All those who refuse to take the mark of the beast and worship him, but instead chose Jesus Christ, will be beheaded as described in Revelation 20:4. It will be possible to be saved during the last three and one-half years of the Great Tribulation, but it will cost you your life. Important to remember that if a person cannot live for Jesus Christ now before the Great Tribulation begins, they most certainly will not be able to wait until the tribulation begins to die for Jesus Christ. Better to receive Him now while there is still time.

Signs of the Last Days: Teens Becoming ‘Fake Christians’

If you’re the parent of a Christian teenager, Kenda Creasy Dean has this warning: Your child is following a “mutant” form of Christianity, and you may be responsible. Dean says more American teenagers are embracing what she calls “moralistic therapeutic deism.” Translation: It’s a watered-down faith that portrays God as a “divine therapist” whose chief goal is to boost people’s self-esteem. Dean is a minister, a professor at Princeton Theological Seminary and the author of “Almost Christian,” a new book that argues that many parents and pastors are unwittingly passing on this self-serving strain of Christianity. She says this “imposter” faith is one reason teenagers abandon churches. “If this is the God they’re seeing in church, they are right to leave us in the dust,” Dean says. “Churches don’t give them enough to be passionate about.”

Killed For Serving Jesus in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan — Their last meal was a picnic in the forest in the Sharrun Valley, high in the Hindu Kush mountains of northern Afghanistan. Returning home from a three-week trek on foot to deliver free medical care to the remotest regions of the country, the aid workers — six Americans, a Briton, a German and four Afghans — had just finished eating when they were accosted by gunmen with long dyed-red beards, the police said. The gunmen marched them into the forest, stood them in a line and shot 10 of them one by one. The police found their bodies, seven men and three women, on Friday, the Badakhshan Province police chief, Gen. Aqa Noor Kentoz, said Saturday.

Giant Ice Island Breaks Off Greenland

An ice island four times the size of Manhattan broke off from one of Greenland’s two main glaciers, scientists said Friday, in the biggest such event in the Arctic in nearly 50 years. The new ice island, which broke off on Thursday, will enter a remote place called the Nares Strait, about 620 miles south of the North Pole between Greenland and Canada. The ice island has an area of 100 square miles and a thickness up to half the height of the Empire State Building, said Andreas Muenchow, professor of ocean science and engineering at the University of Delaware. Muenchow said he had expected an ice chunk to break off from the Petermann Glacier, one of the two largest remaining ones in Greenland, because it had been growing in size for seven or eight years. But he did not expect it to be so large.

Man Kills Girlfriend and Drinks Her Blood

BARTOW, Fla. (AP) – Bail has been denied for a 42-year-old central Florida man accused of stabbing a friend to death and then drinking his blood. A judge denied bail for Mauricio Mendez Lopez who made his first court appearance Thursday. In court Lopez said he had been drinking and had no memory of the incident which happened Sunday. Lopez was picked up Wednesday after he was spotted by a citizen. He is accused of killing Macario Cruz in a house they shared in Bartow. A third resident, Cruz’s sister-in-law Mariella Mendez, told police that Lopez fatally stabbed Cruz because he was having an affair with her. Lopez is the uncle of Mendez and Cruz’s wife, who lives in Mexico. A police report shows the men had an argument in which Lopez struck Cruz in the face with a 15-pound dumb bell. He then allegedly threatened to kill them both unless the relationship ended. Authorities say Lopez returned later and stabbed Cruz to death. Mendez told police Lopez left with a plastic cup in his hand that appeared to hold blood. She said he drank from the cup in a strange ritual from their native Mexico.

7.0 Earthquake Hits New Guinea

PORT MORESBY — A major 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck a remote mountainous region of the Pacific nation of Papua New Guinea on Thursday, seismologists said, causing panic but no initial damage or injuries. The quake hit a sparsely populated area of the island of New Britain at 8:01 am (2201 GMT Wednesday) at a depth of 54 kilometres, the US Geological Survey (USGS) and the Papua New Guinea Earthquake Office said. “We are not aware of any damage at this point, but it was pretty strongly felt in the town of Kimbe and on other parts of the island, people are really shaken up,” seismologist Lawrence Anton of the PNG Earthquake Office told AFP. The quake hit about 20 kilometres (12 miles) from the centre of a 7.3-magnitude earthquake that hit the region in July. The epicentre of the latest quake was 145 kilometres east of Kandrian, on New Britain, and 570 kilometres east of Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea.

2010 Is an Unprecedented Year for Weather

Jesus Said: Luke 21:25-28 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
As We see these unprecedented weather patterns around the world we are reminded that Jesus said that these types of events would immediately precede His arrival back to earth at the even the Bible calls “The Rapture of the Church” (1 Thessaloninas 4:14-17). Any day now, those who have loved and believed in Jesus may hear their name called by the Lord and then suddenly find themselves transformed and in the outer atmosphere of the earth, gathered with all those who also love Jesus, standing in the presence of the Lord. He will then take us all back with Him to heaven where there will be a great reunion, a Banquet for all, and the giving of rewards for our faithful life of service to Jesus while in our bodies on earth. Then, 7 years later, in earth time , Jesus will ride out of heaven (Revelation 19), back to earth with all of us who love Him, and Jesus will set up the 1,000 year kingdom promised in the Old Testament of Righteousness over the whole earth. Lift up your heads when you see all kinds of strange weather and the perplexity of men over the economy, wars, and evil… Jesus is about to come for you.

A Bushel of Wheat For a Penny

We learn in Genesis that Abram (renamed later by God to Abraham) was a rich man. How do we know? We are told that “he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.”1 In Biblical times, these things were all media of exchange. No king decided this; he didn’t call in his magi to decide what the medium of ex-change would be. Ordinary people, or “the market” made the decision. Let’s say a king did decree that rocks could be used as money. Would anyone use them? Probably not, because they would not know the value of those rocks. Unless you are building a lot of things (or stoning a lot of adulterers), rocks fail to meet a standard for money: they have no intrinsic value. If a civilization was to advance though, it had to come up with a convenient way to save and exchange value to buy things. Leather was used in ancient Rome. (Contrary to popular belief, Roman soldiers were not paid in salt. The term salary [from the Latin salārium] was money given to Roman soldiers to buy salt.2) Animal pelts, whiskey, and tobacco leaves were used in the former British Colonies, wampum (strings of beads) was used by the American Indians, dried fish were used in the Canadian maritime colonies, maize or corn was used in Mexico, and salt, iron and farming tools were used in Africa. These things are called “commodity money.” As civilizations became more complex, most forms of commodity money be-came very cumbersome. (Who would want to give or get 300 sheep to buy a car?) Another medium of exchange had to be found.

Signs of a Third Depression

Recessions are common; depressions are rare. As far as I can tell, there were only two eras in economic history that were widely described as “depressions” at the time: the years of deflation and instability that followed the Panic of 1873 and the years of mass unemployment that followed the financial crisis of 1929-31. Neither the Long Depression of the 19th century nor the Great Depression of the 20th was an era of nonstop decline — on the contrary, both included periods when the economy grew. But these episodes of improvement were never enough to undo the damage from the initial slump, and were followed by relapses. We are now, I fear, in the early stages of a third depression. It will probably look more like the Long Depression than the much more severe Great Depression. But the cost — to the world economy and, above all, to the millions of lives blighted by the absence of jobs — will nonetheless be immense.

Iran Could Attack Europe With Hundreds of Missiles

US defense secretary Robert Gates reported to a senate hearing Thursday, June 17 that the US had overhauled its missile defense plans following intelligence that Iran could fire “scores or hundreds” of missiles against Europe -in salvoes rather than one or two at a time. The new US program, designed to protect NATO allies in the region against short- and medium-range missiles, uses sea and land-based interceptors. DEBKAfile’s military sources confirm that in addition to the thousands of ballistic missiles inIran’s arsenal, there are certainly many hundred that could be fired in salvoes. While referring to NATO allies, Gates did not mention Israel, which is located still closer to those missiles and far more prey to the devastation promised by Tehran.

Tension Over Euro for France and Germany

The escalating sparring comes at a terrible time for the European Union, which for decades has looked to the Franco-German partnership to fuel and shape policy construction and crisis management – and counter Britain’s traditional Euroskepticism. Indeed, many of the E.U.’s biggest achievements – including founding the euro and managing the Common Agricultural Policy – arose from France and Germany standing hand in hand. But if they’ve mostly agreed – on issues from opposing the Iraq war to urging the regulation of global financial markets – the clashes between the two countries have often been resounding. Former French President FranÇois Mitterrand sought to block reunification in fear that Germany would become too powerful within the E.U., and his successor, Jacques Chirac, looked ready to exchange blows with former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl in 1996 while debating whether national governments should cede some power to the European Central Bank, as the Germans urged. An Outbreak of Global Pestilence

In 1976, Karl Johnson, a world-renowned expert on infectious diseases for the Center for Disease Control (CDC), received an urgent phone call: “An entire hospital has been wiped out and we still don’t know what’s behind the outbreak!” Johnson boarded the next plane for Central Africa and there, near the fetid banks of the Ebola River in Northwestern Zaire, a horrible fever of unknown origin was raging. Several hundred deaths later, the disease vanished as mysteriously as it had appeared. The researchers eventually determined that it was a blood-borne virus, unprecedented, until then, in medical history.

Do Mormons Believe in a Different Jesus?

“In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints ‘do not believe in the traditional Christ.’ ‘No, I don’t. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times. He together with His Father, appeared to the boy Joseph Smith in the year 1820, and when Joseph left the grove that day, he knew more of the nature of God than all the learned ministers of the gospel of the ages.’” (LDS Church News Week ending June 20, 1998, p. 7).
Christians have long maintained that Mormonism teaches a Jesus that is different from what the Bible reveals. Of course, the Mormons say that they believe in the same Jesus that originally walked on the earth and is revealed in the Bible. Though they may make this claim, it is up to them to prove it. Especially in light of what Mormonism says about God and Jesus.

Non-Church Attenders are Obama Supporters

President Barack Obama’s overall approval rating stood at 49 percent for the most recent three-day period, and at 50 percent for the week ending May 8, but it would be lower than that if America consisted exclusively of people who attend church with some regularity.Non-church goers form the base of Obama’s support, according to Gallup polling data.

Gallup reports the breakouts from its presidential approval survey for three different types of church-goers: people who attend church weekly, people who attend church nearly weekly or monthly, and people who seldom or never attend church. Among these three groups, Obama’s approval rating tops 50 percent only among those who seldom or never attend church. In fact, among this group it was at 56 percent for the week ending May 8.

Attack on Israel by Lebanon Planned for this Summer

A Soviet submarine has recently docked off the coast of Beirut Lebanon with an Iranian flag that most likely came out of the Russian Baltic Fleet. The men who offloaded the Submarine were wearing Gas masks and Has-Mat gear. this seems to be an indication that some sort of Chemical weapons are being offloaded from the Submarine into Lebanon under the control of Hezbollah.

Another startling development is the shipment of more advanced Scud missiles are being shipped from Syria to Hezbollah control in Lebanon. The number of these rockets and missiles that have been shipped into Lebanon are between 50-60,000. These missile have been placed in houses and building in southern Lebanon and are already aimed at Israel. The missiles that were fired at Israel in 2006 were launched from the mobile pop up launch systems placed on trucks.

Bank Risk Soars to Record

May 7 (Bloomberg) — The cost of insuring against losses on European bank bonds soared to a record, surpassing levels triggered by the collapse of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., as the sovereign debt crisis deepened.
The Markit iTraxx Financial Index of credit-default swaps on 25 banks and insurers soared as much as 40 basis points to 223, according to JPMorgan Chase & Co. The index closed at 212 basis points March 9, 2009. Swaps on Greece, Portugal, Spain and Italy rose to or near all-time high levels.
Credit risk rose for a sixth day on concern the Greek debt crisis is spiraling out of control and triggering concern banks may face losses on their sovereign bond holdings. The Group of Seven plans to hold a conference call today to discuss the turmoil, after a global stock rout that briefly erased more than $1 trillion in U.S. market value.
“Financials are caught in a really bad place right now,” said Aziz Sunderji, a London-based credit strategist at Barclays Capital. “Investors are selling bonds, not just hedging with CDS. It shows investors are repositioning portfolios and there’s a more long-term repricing of peripheral risk.”

U.S. Stock Market Plunges Amid Greece Financial Scare

The US stock market, already spooked by the European debt crisis, was whipsawed yesterday by wildly volatile trading that drove the Dow Jones industrial average down by nearly 1,000 points before it recovered later in the day.
The Dow, in its worst single trading day of the past year, closed down 347.8 points, to 10,520.32, a loss of 3.2 percent. The extreme gyrations of the afternoon recalled the panic selling from the darkest days of 2008 and the stock market crash of 1987.
‘‘It was pretty breathtaking,’’ said Andrew Lo, a professor of finance at MIT’s Sloan School of Management and an investment manager in Cambridge. ‘‘People are uncertain about many things, and what we saw today was that uncertainty playing out.’’
The spectacular plunge — which may have been fueled by unusual trading in a few stocks — comes at time when the economy has been on the mend, with hiring and spending up and the housing market rebounding. But analysts and investors said a day like yesterday, combined with mounting concerns about Greece’s debt crisis, raises new doubts about a global economic recovery.

China’s Economy May Crash in the Next Year

May 3 (Bloomberg) — Investor Marc Fabersaid China’s economy will slow and possibly “crash” within a year as declines in stock and commodity prices signal the nation’s property bubble is set to burst.
The Shanghai Composite Index has failed to regain its 2009 high while industrial commodities and shares of Australian resource exporters are acting “heavy,” Faber said. The opening of the World Expo in Shanghai last week is “not a particularly good omen,” he said, citing a property bust and depression that followed the 1873 World Exhibition in Vienna.
“The market is telling you that something is not quite right,” Faber, the publisher of the Gloom, Boom & Doom report, said in a Bloomberg Television interview in Hong Kong today. “The Chinese economy is going to slow down regardless. It is more likely that we will even have a crash sometime in the next nine to 12 months.”
