Iran Threatens to Destroy Israel in Nuclear War

Iran Threatens to Destroy Israel in Nuclear War

A top Iranian general said Friday, Sept. 3: “Iran hopes there won’t be a need to target the nuclear facility of the Zionist regime, but if there is, Israel would receive dreadful retribution.” Gen. Hasan Firouzabadi, supreme commander of Iran’s military and Revolutionary Guards armed forces, went on to say, “Our developed weapons can hit any part of the Zionist regime.”
Firouzabadi was the first senior Iranian military figure to publicly indicate Tehran readiness for the Middle East’s first nuclear war. Saturday, Sept. 4, Israeli ambassador in Washington Michael Oren reported that Hizballah had posted in South Lebanon 16,000 rockets, altogether quadrupling the number ranged on the Israeli border four years ago (in violation of UN resolution 1701).
Their range now covered every part of Israel as far south as Eilat with enhanced precision.
    This would obviously include Dimona.
In Havana, Fidel Castro again warned that a nuclear conflict was inevitable if the United States, in alliance with Israel, tried to impose international sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program. His speech to students was highlighted by the Iranian media.
A few hours earlier, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told a pro-Palestinian rally that the talks re-launched between Israel and the Palestinians must fail. “The fate of Palestine will be decided through resistance and not in Washington,” he declared.

‘We Seek Peace to End Conflict Once and For All’

‘We Seek Peace to End Conflict Once and For All’

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu scheduled to give historic speech in Washington, state he hopes for lasting peace. ‘I came here to find a historic compromise. President Abbas, you are my partner in peace’, Netanyahu slated to say. Netanyahu is hoping to commence a process in Washington which will end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict “once and for all.” In a special speech to be delivered Wednesday night at the White House Netanyahu is slated to state he does not seek a cease fire but lasting peace. “I am very pleased to be here today to begin our common effort to achieve lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians,” Netanyahu is slated to say. “I want to thank you President Obama for your tireless effort to renew the quest for peace. I want to thank Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Senator Mitchell, the many members of the Obama administration and Tony Blair, who have all worked so hard to bring Israelis and Palestinians together here today.” The prime minister will also want Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Jordanian King Abdullah “for their support of these talks and for their continuous efforts to promote peace, security and stability in our region. “

  • An Early and Later Fulfillment of Prophecy

An Early and Later Fulfillment of Prophecy

With the latest attempts by the Obama administration to make peace in the middle east, those who watch the current events around the world in anticipation of the coming of Jesus become very excited. Whether or not the current effort will be successful at securing a seven year peace treaty as described in the Book of Daniel chapter 9, remains to be seen.
There are many articles on the internet referencing the fact that Obama has shown signs of being either the antichrist himself or like the antichrist. This writer would not go so far to make either of those statements as neither of these possibilities are clear at the present time. No one really knows that a particular aspect of Bible prophecy has been fulfilled until after the fact. We know that in the last days before the seven year tribulation begins, there will be a great move in the middle east similar to the current effort, that will ensue into a seemingly miraculous set of events, finally bringing peace to the decades long struggle.
According to the Bible, part of the peace process will be that Israel will be allowed to rebuild the third temple on the very same site as the former two temples. In order to do this, the muslim world would need to allow the construction of the temple next to the existing dome of the rock. Today no one but a muslim can even approach the temple mount. To allow any Israeli to begin a jewish house of worship next to their revered mosque would be of epic importance. Never the less, we know that when this final seven years do begin, midway into the seven year tribulation, an event will happen that will set into motion the final 21 plagues of the Book of Revelation and bring the return of Jesus to the earth with His church to set up a one thousand year kingdom of righteousness. Then at the three and one half year mark of the seven year peace agreement, a statue of antichrist will be placed in the holy of holies in the new temple and it will come to life. A command will be given to worship the new world ruler as God, who will be the antichrist. Jesus called this event the “Abomination of Desolation in Matthew chapter 24.

  • Signs of Antichrist: Obama Wants a Signed Peace Agreement

Signs of Antichrist: Obama Wants a Signed Peace Agreement

When the time of the seven year tribulation is upon us, there will be a massive move to make peace in Israel. The peace, according to Daniel Chapter 9 will come by a “Covenant”, or agreement between many nations and Israel. The signing of this peace treaty is the opening of the first seal in Revelation Chapter 6, verse 1. Either just before or just after the signing of this peace agreement, Jesus will remove His church from the earth at the event described in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4:16-18. Then after a short three and one-half years of peace, the new world ruler who brought the peace treaty, will have a statue of himself erected in the newly built temple in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount, and proclaim that the world should worship him.
This is the event that Jesus described in Matthew 24:15-22 called “The Abomination of Desolation”. This event will trigger the opening of the second seal in Revelation chapter 6 that will bring war. As the third through seventh seals are opened, the judgments and plagues upon earth grow progressively worse leading into the blowing of the seven trumpets and finally the pouring out of the seven bowls of Jesus wrath upon the earth. In the totality of these twenty-one judgments, nearly two-thirds of the population of the earth will perish. All those who refuse to take the mark of the beast and worship him, but instead chose Jesus Christ, will be beheaded as described in Revelation 20:4. It will be possible to be saved during the last three and one-half years of the Great Tribulation, but it will cost you your life. Important to remember that if a person cannot live for Jesus Christ now before the Great Tribulation begins, they most certainly will not be able to wait until the tribulation begins to die for Jesus Christ. Better to receive Him now while there is still time.

    Israel Is Preparing For War

    Israel Is Preparing For War

While Israel is hoping for a peaceful resolution to Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the Jewish state is also preparing for “a time of war,” declared a Knesset member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ruling Likud party. “We are prepared for all risks,” said Likud Knesset Member Danny Danon. “And I think our enemies should know that even though we are speaking of peace, we are getting ready for a time of war, as well.”
Danon, the deputy speaker of Israel’s parliament, was speaking in a radio interview with WND senior reporter Aaron Klein, who hosts an investigative program on New York’s WABC 770 AM Radio. Danon hinted that Israel may take action if the world does not stop the Iranian nuclear threat, recalling Israel’s lone strike on Iraq’s nuclear reactor in 1981. Stated Danon: “We are ready for all scenarios, and we are able to defend our civilian population. I cannot tell you how long we can wait more. But we prefer to wait and see if the international bodies are acting, or [whether] it will be only the burden of Israel, like it was in the early ’80s, when the great leader, Menachem Begin, [made] the great decision to bomb the nuclear reactor in Iraq.”

Is Israel About to Attack Iran?

Is Israel About to Attack Iran?

The specter of a devastating Middle East confrontation looms bigger than ever this week after former US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton noted that Israel had only a few days left to attack Iran’s main nuclear facility. Bolton, who also previously oversaw US nuclear non-proliferation policy, was referring to Russia’s intention to deliver nuclear fuel rods to the now-complete Bushehr nuclear reactor this coming weekend. The rods will be inserted into the core and the reactor is scheduled to be operational on August 21.
“Once that uranium, once those fuel rods are very close to the reactor, certainly once they’re in the reactor, attacking it means a release of radiation, no question about it,” Bolton told Fox Business Network on Monday. “So if Israel is going to do anything against Bushehr it has to move in the next eight days.” Bolton said he did not know if Israel intends to strike or not, but was certain that Israel would not attack the Bushehr reactor after it had gone online for fear of releasing radiation on the nearby population.

    Iran Fuels First Nuclear Reactor

    Iran Fuels First Nuclear Reactor

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin decided it was safe to go ahead and load Iran’s first nuclear reactor with fuel on Aug. 21 – effectively making it active – after the Kremlin’s weekend announcement of this intent seemed not to trouble the US and Israel, DEBKAfile’s sources in Moscow and Tehran report. He decided the two governments had either been caught flatfooted or come to terms with a Russian-sponsored nuclear project that would allow Iran to produce weapons-grade plutonium.
The impression Russian officials tried to convey that the reactor would only go on stream in late September was meant to deflect US or Israeli pressure, which in the event was not forthcoming.
Monday, Aug. 16, therefore, Moscow further announced that Sergei Kirienko, the head of the Russian state nuclearcorporation Rosatom, would visit Bushehr Friday, Aug. 20, to see for himself how far the work on the 1,200-1,300 MWe reactor had progressed. He expects to be accompanied by Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko.

U.S. and S. Korea Drills Anger N. Korea

U.S. and S. Korea Drills Anger N. Korea

The U.S. and South Korean militaries will stage their second joint exercise in less than a month from Monday, fuelling tensions with the prickly North and angering regional power China. The annual exercise comes a week after Seoul completed its own drills near a disputed maritime border off the west coast that prompted the North to retaliate by firing a barrage of artillery shells in the same area. Responding with the same rhetoric as it has in the past, the reclusive North said the latest exercise was a “dangerous act to light the fuse of a new war.”
Pyongyang has often turned to saber-rattling to make a point but analysts say it is unlikely to risk a full-blown war which would pit it against the combined might of the U.S. and South Korean militaries. But U.S. officials have said further provocations by the North are possible in coming months, especially as Pyongyang tries to build political momentum for the succession to leader Kim Jong-il, expected to hand power to his youngest son. Unlike the show-of-force drills in July which involved a U.S. aircraft carrier, this month’s exercises are lower key. Washington and South Korea say the exercises are defensive and designed to send a message to Pyongyang that its behavior is aggressive and must stop. Last week’s tit-for-tat military actions occurred near the Northern Limit Line, the site of several deadly clashes since the 1950-53 Korean war, and the location of the torpedoing of a South Korean warship earlier this year.

U.S. and S. Korea Begin Massive Military Exercises

U.S. and S. Korea Begin Massive Military Exercises

South Korea and the United States began a new round of war games Monday, involving about 30,000 U.S. forces and 56,000 South Korean personnel. The 10-day operation is the second massive joint military exercise in less than a month. But unlike the earlier drill in the Sea of Japan, this exercise is land-based and involves relatively few troop movements. Much of the training will take place on computer screens as commanders practice how they would respond to North Korean nuclear, missile and submarine attacks.
North Korea warned that its military would be “merciless” in its response to the joint exercises. Pyongyang issued a similar threat in response to anti-submarine exercises South Korea held last week off its west coast. South Korean President Lee Myung-bak on Monday called the most recent drills “an exercise for peace and deterrence.” Mr. Lee used a Sunday speech marking the anniversary of the Korean peninsula’s liberation from Japanese rule to outline what he called the path toward reunification. The South Korean leader said it is time for North Korea to make what he called “a courageous change.” He also warned that his government will not tolerate further “provocations” from the communist North.

Russian Missiles Block Israeli Attack on Iran

Russian Missiles Block Israeli Attack on Iran

US and Israeli military sources told DEBKAfile Thursday, Aug. 12, that a threat from Georgia was not the reason why Russian posted advanced S-300 interceptor batteries Russia in Abkhazia and air defense weapons in South Ossetia on the northern shore of the Black Sea -as Moscow officially maintained, but rather possible moves by the US and/or Israel against Iran and its nuclear facilities.
Georgia’s armed forces do not run to the sophisticated warplanes, missiles or drones that would warrant establishing the high-powered S-300 interceptors for defending the breakaway Abkhazia and South Ossetia.Ordinary air defense batteries would do for deterrence.

What are the Consequences of an Israeli Attack on Iran?

What are the Consequences of an Israeli Attack on Iran?

A common view among strategists and political analysts is that the US will be held responsible by Iran and much of the Muslim world. Tehran is expected to use the relationships it has carefully cultivated with militants in Iraq and Afghanistan to lash out at US troops, and some say it could provide fighters in Afghanistan with the surface-to-air missiles they crave. “There are segments of the [Iranian] regime, parts of the military apparatus especially, that will welcome an attack, the heightening of tensions and even confrontation,” says Kaveh Ehsani, a political scientist who studies Iran at DePaul University in Chicago. “Their strategy to react to this is to export conflict – to Afghanistan and Iraq and Lebanon and Gaza… they’ll raise hell anywhere they can, like in Saudi Arabia.”
But how big the Iranian reaction would be remains an open question. More US soldiers would die, that much is almost certain. But how many is unclear. And while Iran can bottle up tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and drive up world oil prices, or encourage Hezbollah in southern Lebanon to rain missiles on Israel, analysts are divided on whether the country will take the plunge. US response could be far more threatening than Israeli oneWayne White, former deputy director of the Middle East desk at the State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research, says a there’s a complex web of calculations being made by both the Israelis and the Iranians, and that Iran may show restraint in the wake of an attack, not wanting to be drawn into a conflict that could threaten the Islamic revolution.

China Warns US Over Naval Presence in Their Region

China Warns US Over Naval Presence in Their Region

BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s People Liberation Army demanded a tough response to U.S. plans to send an aircraft carrier to naval exercises near its coast, saying that “respect” was at stake. A commentary in the Liberation Army Daily on Thursday laid bare rancor over Washington’s naval exercises with ally South Korea, and over its criticism of Chinese territorial claims to swathes of the South China Sea, where Taiwan and several Southeast Asian states also have claims. “A country needs respect, and a military also needs respect. ‘If someone doesn’t hurt me, I won’t hurt him; but if someone hurts me, I must hurt him,” wrote Major General Luo Yuan in the paper.

“For the Chinese people and the Chinese military, those are by no means idle words.”

The angry commentary in the PLA’s top mouthpiece, carefully vetted by censors, also underscored Chinese military pressures weighing on Beijing as it crafts policy The U.S. and South Korea last month held a joint naval drill in the Sea of Japan off the Korean peninsula, which brought condemnation from China, which answered with its own heavily publicized military exercises.

    The United States is Bankrupt

    The United States is Bankrupt

Let’s get real. The U.S. is bankrupt. Neither spending more nor taxing less will help the country pay its bills. What it can and must do is radically simplify its tax, health-care, retirement and financial systems, each of which is a complete mess. But this is the good news. It means they can each be redesigned to achieve their legitimate purposes at much lower cost and, in the process, revitalize the economy. Last month, the International Monetary Fund released itsannual review of U.S. economic policy. Its summary contained these bland words about U.S. fiscal policy: “Directors welcomed the authorities’ commitment to fiscal stabilization, but noted that a larger than budgeted adjustment would be required to stabilize debt-to-GDP.” But delve deeper, and you will find that the IMF has effectively pronounced the U.S. bankrupt. Section 6 of the July 2010 Selected Issues Paper says: “The U.S. fiscal gap associated with today’s federal fiscal policy is huge for plausible discount rates.” It adds that “closing the fiscal gap requires a permanent annual fiscal adjustment equal to about 14 percent of U.S. GDP.”

Israel Threatens to Retaliate on Three Fronts

Israel Threatens to Retaliate on Three Fronts

JERUSALEM — Violence this week on Israel’s northern and southern borders has escalated tensions and raised the prospect of further clashes this summer, Israeli military experts said Wednesday. A clash between Israeli and Lebanese soldiers Tuesday was the most serious outbreak of violence in the north since the two countries fought a war in the summer of 2006. In the south, rockets from Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula , where Islamist militants have operated in the past, struck Israel’s and Jordan’s Red Sea ports, killing a Jordanian civilian and wounding three others. Militants in Gaza also fired rockets at Israel and Jordan Monday. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would retaliate against all the attacks.

South Korea Begins Massive Military Exercises

South Korea has launched its biggest-ever anti-submarine exercises, the military says, despite warnings of retaliation from the North. Some 4,500 personnel are taking part in five days of drills in the Yellow Sea, near the disputed maritime border. The South is making a show of strength amid continuing anger over the sinking of one of its warships in March. Seoul says a North Korean torpedo sank the Cheonan, but Pyongyang denies this and says the drills are a provocation. Forty-six South Korean sailors were killed when the Cheonan went down in the Yellow Sea on 26 March.
‘Fully prepared’ The latest drills, which follow a joint US-South Korean military exercise, will involve 29 ships and 50 planes. Although the Ministry of Defence says the ships will stay clear of the disputed west coast sea boundary, marines stationed on islands close to the border will conduct live-fire exercises. But military officials said that the guns would face south and described the exercises as “defensive” in nature.

    Assassination Attempt on Iran’s President

Arab and Iranian sources confirmed Wednesday that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad escaped an assassination attempt in the city of Hamadan and that several people were wounded. The Iranian conservativeKhabaronline.ir website said that the attacker was arrested. Iran’s semi-official media originally confirmed the report, but the office of Ahmadinejad later denied it, claiming that someone threw a firecracker at his motorcade to celebrate his arrival. The Arabic-language Arabiya website, which is considered responsible and has published several articles against Ahmadinejad, reported that the “Iranian presidency confirms that President Ahmadinejad escaped an assassination attempt as his procession was targeted by a bomb.”

Iran Now Has the Deadly S-300 Missile System

A semiofficial Iranian news agency says Iran has obtained four S-300 surface-to-air missiles despite Russia’s refusal to deliver them. The Fars news agency said Wednesday that Iran has obtained two missiles from Belarus and two others from another unspecified source. Russia signed a contract in 2007 to sell the missiles to Iran but said in June that new UN Security Council sanctions against Tehran prevent delivery. The sale would have substantially boosted the country’s defense capacities, raising Israeli fears it would tip the military balance in the Middle East. In June, a senior Iranian official said that that if Russia persisted in its refusal “to deliver the systems, we are well capable of producing missile defense systems that are very much similar to Russia’s S-300 apparatus.”

4 Dead as Israel and Lebanon Clash Near Border

ADEISSEH, Lebanon – Lebanese and Israeli troops exchanged fire Tuesday in a fierce border battle that killed a senior Israeli officer, two Lebanese soldiers and a journalist — underlining how easily tensions can re-ignite along the frontier where Israel and Hezbollah fought a war four years ago. It was the worst fighting since 2006 in the area, where Israeli and Lebanese soldiers patrol within shouting distance of each other, separated by the U.N.-drawn Blue Line boundary. The fighting flared into Israeli tank, helicopter and artillery strikes near this Lebanese town, but ended after several hours and there was no sign that either side was preparing to escalate. The Shiite guerrilla force Hezbollah said it offered to help the Lebanese army but in the end did not get involved. “We told our brothers, control yourselves and don’t do anything,” Hezbollah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah in a televised speech. But, he warned, his fighters would intervene if Israeli troops ever attack Lebanese forces again. “Any Israeli arm extended against the Lebanese military will be cut off by the resistance,” said Nasrallah, whose arsenal is far more powerful than the Lebanese army’s.
