Being Hurt By Christians and Other Pitiable Plights

Being Hurt By Christians and Other Pitiable Plights

I was feeling sorry for myself the other day once again due to poor treatment by other believers when I realized that the Lord did not send us to the righteous of the world but to the sinner and the sick. By it’s very nature, the gospel message about Jesus Christ is for the very worst of this world. Jesus said:

Mark 2:17 … “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
John 15:18 “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.

I think that we have the idea, or at least the hope, that when we became a Christian we would immediately have many true and faithful friends. Those who would always be there for us. Those who would never let us down, those who would understand us when we faltered and failed. Then we woke up one morning and realized that all those who have found Jesus and are trying to follow Him, are still very imperfect beings.

    You Are Dying

    You Are Dying

I was watching an old syndicated “House” television program on satellite and at the expected end of the show a young woman who had been explored for the past hour to find out what was medically wrong with her, was given the sudden news that she had a terminal illness.
Her response “I am dying?” caused me to think about the human condition that we all posses. We are all dying, litle by little, day by day, here a little, there a little, our time on this earth is fixed and definite.

    Journey Into Eternity

    Journey Into Eternity

Will we live again? Or, does our life end forever at the grave? If we live again, what is the nature of our existence when this life on earth is through? Will we retain our memories and will we remember our personal identity from this life? These questions arise in the minds of almost every one of us when we contemplate our own death. This book will explore the question of our personal immortality in the light of the astonishing new medical and scientific discoveries of the last several decades, as well as the powerful truths revealed by the Scriptures about the nature of our personal journey toward immortality. The remarkable evidence explored in this book will demonstrate that we are all on a personal journey into eternity. We are destined to live forever in an immortal body, and that our eternal life offers possibilities finer than all our dreams.

Do The Dead Know What Happens on Earth?

Do The Dead Know What Happens on Earth?

Do people who have died have any idea of what the living are doing? Are they aware of our victories and our defeats? The biblical arguments for this are as follows.
    Rich Man Could See Lazarus
Scripture says that the rich man could see Lazarus in the unseen world.
And being in torments in Hades, he [the rich man] lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom (Luke 16:23).
    Cloud Of Witnesses
The writer to the Hebrews says that the living are surrounded by witnesses.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:1,2).

Will You Be Bored In Heaven?

Will You Be Bored In Heaven?

“But to this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My Word.” -Isaiah 66:2 NASB

Who today trembles at the Word of God? It seems to me that there are but few who really live with a passion for God – especially a passion just to be with Him. Today there is such a noise coming up before the throne of the Most High – the clamor of so – called praise, singing, and joyful shouting. But I wonder if the same people who love to sing and shout, loudly exclaiming the praises of God, really have such an intense glory in their secret life with the Lord. When the meeting’s over and there’s no one there to listen except the only One who matters, do you still have that same passionate joy in your spirit, just to be alone with the Living God?

Is There Just One Way To Heaven?

Is There Just One Way To Heaven?

One of the most controversial subjects in the world today is that of “How can a person enter Heaven?”

There are so many religions and so many who claim to have knowledge of what it takes in order to be qualified to enter Heaven when a person dies. “Surely all of these different religions cannot be wrong”. “God is Merciful and Loving and He will accept a person if they are sincerely seeking Him…” “All roads lead to heaven if a person is just sincere…” Are these thoughts and views correct? Can a person make it to heaven by following any church or religion?

Surprisingly, the Bible stands is stark contrast to all religion and religious philosophies of man. From the Book of Genesis through Revelation, the Bible reveals that there is only One God and only One way to this God in Heaven. This study is dedicated to answering this controversial subject and clarifying what the God of Heaven said Himself is required for you to be able to enter Heaven.
