Gay Marriage Judge: Children Have No Right to a Mother

Gay Marriage Judge: Children Have No Right to a Mother

U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker, who ruled last week that a voter-approved amendment to California’s constitution that limited marriage to the union of one man and one woman violated the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, based that ruling in part on his finding that a child does not need and has no right to a mother. Nor, he found, does a child have a need or a right to a father. “Children do not need to be raised by a male parent and a female parent to be well-adjusted, and having both a male and a female parent does not increase the likelihood that a child will be well-adjusted,” the judge wrote in finding of fact No. 71 in his opinion. “The gender of a child’s parent is not a factor in a child’s adjustment,” the judge stated in finding of fact No. 70. “The sexual orientation of an individual does not determine whether that individual can be a good parent. Children raised by gay or lesbian parents are as likely as children raised by heterosexual parents to be healthy, successful and well-adjusted. The research supporting this conclusion is accepted beyond serious debate in the field of developmental psychology.”

    When Does a Marriage Occur?

    When Does a Marriage Occur?

Are a man and a woman married only when the state in which they live receive a license and then have a minsiter solemnize the marriage?

I have had some personal experience in this area as to when a Marriage between a man and woman actually occurs.

It is important to remember that Marriage is ordained by God, He created it for man and it is He who sets the rules for what constitutes a marriage. In the Book of Genesis the Lord saw that Adam was alone and that he was not complete. Man needed a woman to be his help and companion. Man was to lead by love and integrity, the marriage union and give of himslelf to his wife everything she needed to live and prosper.

    What is Marriage?

    What is Marriage?

Marriage is the fundamental institution of all human society. It was established by God at creation, when God created the first human beings as “male and female” (Gen. 1:27) and then said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth” (Gen. 1:28). Marriage begins with a commitment before God and other people to be husband and wife for life. In Malachi 2:14, marriage is viewed as a “covenant” commitment in which God stands as a “witness.” And Jesus says that a married couple constitutes a unity that “God has joined together” (Matt. 19:6). Therefore when a marriage occurs, a man and woman have a new status before God: he now considers them to be husband and wife together
